Check PSB Grants to Sports Federations in Pakistan: Hockey Got Rs 205.7 Million of Rs 283.4 Million in 2025-26
The Pakistan Sports Board released Rs 283.4 million to 19 sports bodies in 2025-26. See what hockey, rifle, volleyball and others got, and how to check yours.

The Pakistan Sports Board released Rs 283,353,923 in special grants to 19 national sports bodies in 2025-26. The Pakistan Hockey Federation received Rs 205,711,423 of it, about 73 per cent. The National Rifle Association got Rs 25 million, and the Volleyball Federation got Rs 12.7 million. Most other bodies got between Rs 1 million and Rs 9 million.
We read the board's grant list for 2025-26 and the one for 2024-25 on its website on 14 October 2026. The 2025-26 list is longer in total money but shorter in names. This page shows who got what, how it compares with the year before, and what the list does not tell you.
Hockey took almost three quarters of the 2025-26 money
Hockey received Rs 205,711,423 out of Rs 283,353,923. The next largest grant, Rs 25 million, went to the National Rifle Association of Pakistan. After those two, no body got more than Rs 12.7 million.
The grant list does not say what each rupee was spent on, so we only report what it shows.
| Federation or body | Special grant 2025-26 |
|---|---|
| Pakistan Hockey Federation | Rs 205,711,423 |
| National Rifle Association of Pakistan | Rs 25,000,000 |
| Pakistan Volleyball Federation | Rs 12,700,000 |
| Alpine Club of Pakistan | Rs 9,000,000 |
| Pakistan Tennis Federation | Rs 8,000,000 |

The smaller grants run from Rs 292,500 to Rs 3 million
Fourteen bodies got Rs 3.05 million or less. Special Olympic Pakistan received Rs 3.05 million and the Pakistan Blind Sports Federation Rs 3 million. Bodybuilding, handball and squash each received Rs 2.5 million. The Long Range Rifle Association received Rs 2 million.
Kabaddi received Rs 1.5 million. Badminton, billiards and snooker, judo, rugby and taekwondo each received Rs 1 million. Islamabad Colleges received Rs 600,000. The Ball and Deck Federation received Rs 292,500, the smallest grant on the list.
Football, cricket, athletics and boxing do not appear on the 2025-26 list. We cannot say why. The list is titled "Special Grant", so other funding may exist that this page does not show.

The total almost tripled from 2024-25
The 2024-25 list shows Rs 101,996,500 in total, split into annual grants of Rs 35,900,000 and special grants of Rs 66,096,500. The 2025-26 total of Rs 283,353,923 is about 2.8 times that. Hockey's share alone rose from Rs 30,921,500 to Rs 205,711,423.
The two lists are not laid out the same way. The earlier list has 23 names and two columns, annual and special. The 2025-26 list has 19 names and one column, special. So compare the totals with care.
Some bodies on the 2024-25 list are missing from 2025-26, including the Athletics Federation (Rs 14,175,000), the Karate Federation (Rs 3 million), the Wrestling Federation (Rs 3 million) and the Table Tennis Federation (Rs 2.25 million). Athletics has a national championship coming, which we cover in the athletics calendar for 2026-27.

How to check your own federation on the list
You can look up any federation yourself. The board keeps the lists on one page, with PDFs for each year.
- Open the grants page at sports.gov.pk and choose "Grants paid to NSFs" in the menu.
- Pick the year: 2025-26, 2024-25, or the five year list for 2019-20 to 2023-24.
- Find your federation's name in the table and read the amount in rupees.
- Check the column heading, because the 2024-25 list splits annual and special grants.
- If your body is missing, ask the board in writing whether it received a grant in another form.
First confirm that the body is on the board's books. Use the list of national sports federations and the list of non-affiliated sports bodies. A body that is not affiliated would not be expected on a grant list.

What the list does not tell you
The list gives amounts and names. It does not give the purpose of each grant, the date of release, or the number of athletes helped. A bigger grant does not prove a federation is better run, and a small one does not prove a federation is neglected.
If you want the reason for a payment, ask the federation or the board for its accounts. The board also lists an audit of grants to sports federations on the same page, which we did not open.
Medal cash awards are a separate payment. The board's Asian Games rates are in our note on Asian Games medal cash awards. Those go to athletes, not to federations.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 14 October 2026. Figures come from the board's PDFs Grants 2025-26 and Grants 2024-25, reached from the board's grants page. One Handball line prints as "2/500,000", which we read as Rs 2.5 million because the list then adds up to its printed total. We did not find any note on how grants are spent.
