Reprint a Lost CNIC on NADRA's Pak ID App for Rs 400
Lost or damaged your CNIC? Reprint it on NADRA's Pak ID app: Rs 400 normal, Rs 1,150 urgent, Rs 2,150 executive, plus NICOP fees, delivery and tracking.

You can reprint a lost or damaged CNIC from your phone through NADRA's Pak ID app. Choose "Reprint / Lost of CNIC", capture your photo and fingerprints with the phone camera, pay, and the card is posted to you. NADRA's fee page lists a duplicate CNIC at Rs 400 on the normal 15 day track, Rs 1,150 urgent and Rs 2,150 executive.
We read those figures on NADRA's own fee structure page on 6 October 2026. NADRA calls a replacement card a "duplicate" on that page and a "reprint" inside the app. They are the same service.
Most people who lose a card still assume they have to queue at a registration centre. You don't, as long as you have a smartphone, a working email address and a mobile number in your own name.
The Pak ID app handles a CNIC reprint from start to finish
Pak ID, listed in app stores as Pak Identity, is NADRA's own app for identity cards. Its store listing names "Reprint / Lost of CNIC" and "Reprint / Lost of NICOP" as services, alongside renewal and modification. Biometrics, photo, signature and payment all happen inside the app.
The app is published by the National Database and Registration Authority itself. Check that the developer name reads NADRA before you install it.
A reprint uses the record NADRA already holds. You are not registering again, so you do not need your birth certificate or your parents' cards for a straight replacement. If you also want to change a detail, such as your address, that becomes a modification and the form asks for supporting documents.
Steps to reprint a lost CNIC on Pak ID
Do it in daylight, near a window, with a plain white wall behind you. The photo and fingerprint steps use the phone camera, so good light matters more than anything else.
- Install Pak Identity from the Play Store or App Store and confirm the developer is NADRA.
- Create an account with your email address and mobile number. The app verifies both with a code, then verifies you by biometrics.
- Log in and choose "Reprint / Lost of CNIC" from the identity card services.
- Pick the card type and the priority: normal, urgent or executive.
- Capture your photograph with the phone camera against a plain white background, as the app's guidance asks.
- Capture your fingerprints through the camera, then sign on the touchscreen.
- Read the card preview line by line. NADRA added this preview in app version 5.6.6 on 11 July 2026.
- Pay the fee and note the tracking ID the app gives you.
Some applications also ask for an attester, a person who confirms your identity through a one time code sent to their phone. The app tells you if yours needs one. Keep a relative's number ready, just in case.
If you would rather see a person, the same replacement is available at any registration centre, and you can book a NADRA appointment online to skip most of the queue.
Reprint fees for a CNIC, Smart NIC and NICOP
A duplicate paper style CNIC costs Rs 400, Rs 1,150 or Rs 2,150, depending on speed. A duplicate Smart NIC costs Rs 750, Rs 1,500 or Rs 2,500. NICOP fees are in US dollars and depend on where you live. Home delivery inside Pakistan is Rs 165.
| Card | Normal | Urgent | Executive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Duplicate CNIC | Rs 400, 15 days | Rs 1,150, 12 days | Rs 2,150, 6 days |
| Duplicate Smart NIC | Rs 750, 31 days | Rs 1,500, 23 days | Rs 2,500, 9 days |
| Duplicate Smart NICOP, Zone A (USA, Europe) | USD 39, 31 days | USD 57, 23 days | USD 75, 9 days |
| Duplicate Smart NICOP, Zone B (Middle East, Africa) | USD 20, 31 days | USD 30, 23 days | USD 40, 9 days |
One oddity is worth knowing. NADRA's page shows the Zone B executive NICOP duplicate at USD 40 in one table and USD 140 in the table directly below it. Every other Zone B executive fee is USD 40, so USD 140 looks like a typing error. Check the amount the app shows before you pay.
The full price list for every other document sits in NADRA fees for 2026, which we built from the same official page.
Delivery and tracking after you apply
The card is printed and posted to the address on your record. Inside Pakistan, NADRA lists the delivery charge at Rs 165. For a NICOP posted abroad, the charge varies by country, and app version 5.6.9 waived the delivery fee where the card is collected at a NADRA centre abroad.
Track the application in the app's inbox, which lists every application on your account. The SMS route works too. Send your tracking ID to 8400, as explained in tracking your NADRA application.
The timelines in the table are NADRA's own targets, counted from when the application is accepted. An application sent back for a blurry photo starts its clock again, which is why the camera step matters more than the payment step.
Protect yourself before the new card arrives
A lost card is also an identity risk. Someone holding your CNIC may try to use it for a SIM or a loan app. The reprint fixes the card, not that risk.
- Check how many SIMs are registered on your number. Checking SIMs registered on your CNIC takes a minute.
- If the card was stolen with your wallet, report the theft to the police and keep a copy.
- Tell your bank if a debit card went missing at the same time.
The wider checklist, including what a lost card blocks while you wait, is in what to do if you lose your CNIC. If your card is not lost but simply expired, apply for a renewal instead, covered in renewing an expired CNIC. The fee is the same, but the option in the app is different.
Common questions
How much does it cost to reprint a lost CNIC in Pakistan?
Rs 400 on the normal track, Rs 1,150 urgent and Rs 2,150 executive, according to NADRA's fee page on 6 October 2026. A Smart NIC duplicate costs Rs 750, Rs 1,500 or Rs 2,500.
Can I reprint my CNIC online without visiting NADRA?
Yes. The Pak ID app lists "Reprint / Lost of CNIC" as a service, with photo, fingerprints and payment done on the phone and the card delivered by post.
How long does a CNIC reprint take?
NADRA lists 15 days for normal, 12 for urgent and 6 for executive on a CNIC. A Smart NIC takes 31, 23 or 9 days.
Do I need a police report to reprint a lost CNIC?
NADRA's app listing does not mention one for a reprint. A report is still sensible if the card was stolen, because it protects you if the card is misused.
Can overseas Pakistanis reprint a lost NICOP on Pak ID?
Yes. "Reprint / Lost of NICOP" is listed in the app. A Zone A duplicate costs USD 39 normal and a Zone B duplicate costs USD 20 normal.
Will my reprinted card be the new QR code CNIC?
NADRA began issuing a chipless QR code card on 14 August 2026, but its fee page does not say which card a reprint produces. The app preview shows you the card before you pay.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 6 October 2026. We read every fee and timeline in this article on NADRA's official fee structure page on that date, including the Rs 165 delivery charge and the conflicting USD 40 and USD 140 figures for the Zone B executive NICOP duplicate. The list of app services and the account and biometric steps come from NADRA's own store listing for Pak Identity, and the version dates from NADRA's release notes in the same listing. We did not submit a reprint application ourselves, so the attester requirement and the camera steps are described as the app states them, not as we experienced them.
