Customers outside SBP's minimum rate rule, such as companies, got 4.50% to 5.75% on savings.
DIB Pakistan is an Islamic bank. It shares actual pool profit after each month and then publishes a "historical rate sheet". We read the September 2026 sheet, the newest on DIB's historical profit rates page, on 1 November 2026. It shows three months side by side, so you can see the trend. Below is every savings account, every deposit tenor, and what Rs 1 million earned.
DIB savings paid individuals 6.45% for September 2026
Every DIB rupee savings account paid 6.45% a year for September to customers covered by the minimum deposit rate, meaning individuals with up to Rs 10 million. The rate was the same in every balance band. Customers outside that rule earned 4.50% to 5.75%, depending on the account and balance.

| Asaan, Asaan Digital, Remittance and Freelancer | 6.45% | Not listed |
| Itmenaan and Margin accounts (half yearly) | 0.04% | 0.04% |
MDR stands for minimum deposit rate. The sheet's own note says the MDR applies to natural persons keeping a monthly average balance of up to Rs 10 million in a rupee savings account. So for most households the number to read is 6.45%.

DIB's savings rate rose from 5.85% to 6.45% in two months
DIB's MDR savings rate was 5.85% for July 2026, 6.05% for August and 6.45% for September. That is a rise of 0.60 points in two months. The non-MDR rates first appear in August, at 4.50% to 5.75%, and did not change in September.
The July column shows "N/A" for every non-MDR line. That fits SBP's change from 1 August 2026, which limited the minimum rate rule to individuals with balances up to Rs 10 million. Before August, everyone was paid the same rate.

DIB Regular Fixed Deposits paid 5.00% to 6.20% at maturity
A DIB Regular Fixed Deposit held to maturity paid 5.00% for one month on Rs 100,000 to Rs 999,000, 5.60% for one year, and 6.20% for seven years. Larger amounts earn 0.15 to 0.50 points more on short tenors. For the main slabs these rates were unchanged across July, August and September.
| Regular Fixed Deposit | At maturity | Monthly payout | Quarterly payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month, Rs 100k to Rs 999k | 5.00% | Not offered | Not offered |
| 3 months, Rs 100k to Rs 999k | 5.50% | Not offered | Not offered |
| 6 months, Rs 100k to Rs 999k | 5.50% | Not offered | Not offered |
| 1 year, Rs 100k to Rs 999k | 5.60% | 5.25% | 5.45% |
| 2 years | 5.90% | 5.50% | 5.60% |
| 3 years | 6.00% | 5.65% | 5.70% |
| 5 years | 6.10% | 5.75% | 5.80% |
| 7 years | 6.20% | 5.85% | 5.90% |
Here is the catch. An individual under Rs 10 million earned 6.45% in a savings account for September, which is more than any Regular Fixed Deposit paid, even seven years. Locking money away at DIB only made sense on these figures for customers outside the MDR rule.

The Premium Term Deposit paid up to 6.85% for 12 months
DIB's Premium Term Deposit paid more than the regular one. Held to maturity, it paid 6.50% for 12 months on Rs 100,000 to Rs 2.49 million, 6.75% from Rs 2.5 million and 6.85% from Rs 10 million. With monthly payout, the 12 month rates were 5.75% to 6.25%.
- 1 month: 5.50%, 5.75% or 6.00% by amount.
- 3 months: 6.15%, 6.25% or 6.35% by amount.
- 6 months: 6.00% or 6.10%.
- 12 months: 6.50%, 6.75% or 6.85% at maturity.
Three months pays more than six on this product. If you want a short Premium Term Deposit, 3 months at 6.15% beats 6 months at 6.00% for the smallest slab.
Rs 1 million at DIB earned about Rs 5,375 a month
At September's 6.45%, Rs 1 million in a DIB savings account earned about Rs 5,375 a month before tax. A one year Regular Fixed Deposit at 5.60% earns about Rs 56,000 a year, and a 12 month Premium Term Deposit at 6.50% about Rs 65,000.
A conventional bank at 10% would pay about Rs 8,333 a month on the same money, by our sums. That gap is common to Islamic banks in Pakistan, and we explain the pool rule behind it in why Islamic bank savings pay less. Withholding tax also comes off the profit, so check the tax on bank profit.
- Open DIB's historical profit rates page and download the newest monthly sheet.
- Find your account name in the left half of the sheet, which covers rupee products.
- Read the "MDR Applicable Customer" rows if you are an individual with up to Rs 10 million.
- Compare the savings rate with the deposit rate before you lock money away.
- Match the rate against the profit credited for that month.

October rates should follow in November
DIB uploads each month's sheet in the following month, so October 2026 figures should appear in November. SBP raised its policy rate to 12% from 27 October, which can feed into Islamic pool returns in later months. September's figures do not include it.
Overseas Pakistanis with a Roshan Digital Account at DIB earned the same 6.45% on rupee savings if covered by the MDR. Foreign currency savings paid 0.25% under USD 500 and 0.50% above, and a one year USD deposit of USD 2,000 to USD 99,999 paid 0.40% monthly. For how DIB compares with conventional banks, see the savings account rates at major banks.
