Eiffel Scholarship 2027 for Pakistani Students: €1,200 a Month, 6 January Deadline, Age Limits and How to Apply
Eiffel Scholarship 2027 pays €1,200 a month for master's and €2,000 for PhD. A French university must nominate you by 6 January 2027. Age limits and rules here.

The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship 2027 pays €1,200 a month for a master's and €2,000 a month for a PhD, plus flights, insurance and housing help. Pakistani students cannot apply on their own: a French university must submit your file to Campus France by 6 January 2027. Results come from 12 April 2027, and the age limit is 29 for a master's and 35 for a PhD.
We read Campus France's Eiffel page and the 2027 rules document, updated in September 2026, on 1 November 2026. The key fact for Pakistani applicants is the route. You apply to a French university first, and the university decides whether to put you forward. With the institution's deadline before 6 January, November is the month to act.
French universities, not students, submit Eiffel 2027 applications
Only French higher education institutions can send an Eiffel application to Campus France. A student contacts the university's international office, applies for the master's or PhD, and asks to be nominated. Applications sent directly by students are not accepted.
Each French university sets its own internal deadline for Eiffel, and it must fall before 6 January so the file can reach Campus France in time. So ask the international office of every university you apply to two questions: do they nominate for Eiffel, and by what date must your admission file be complete?
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Call for applications opens | October 2026 |
| Last date for Campus France to receive files from universities | 6 January 2027, included |
| Results published | From 12 April 2027 |
| Scholarship must begin | Between 1 September and 30 November 2027 |

Eiffel pays €1,200 a month for a master's and €2,000 for a PhD
From January 2026, master's scholars receive €1,200 a month and PhD scholars €2,000 a month. Campus France also pays directly for international and domestic travel, insurance, help finding housing and cultural activities. Tuition fees are not covered by the scholarship.
That last line is important for Pakistanis. Tuition differs from one French institution to another, and the scholarship does not pay it. Ask the university in writing what fee you would owe as an Eiffel scholar before you accept.
| Level | Monthly allowance | Maximum length |
|---|---|---|
| Master's, second year (M2) | €1,200 | 12 months |
| Master's, first year (M1) | €1,200 | 24 months |
| Engineering diploma | €1,200 | 36 months |
| PhD, joint supervision | €2,000 | 12 or 18 months |
| PhD, first year, new arrivals only | €2,000 | 36 months |
By our arithmetic, a two-year master's at €1,200 a month is worth €28,800 in allowance alone. The first payment arrives through Western Union, and later payments go to a French bank account in your name.

Applicants must be 29 or under for a master's and 35 or under for a PhD
Campus France says the programme targets applicants up to 29 years old at master's level and up to 35 at PhD level. The course must fall in one of seven priority fields, and the degree must be a state-accredited master's, an engineering diploma or a jointly supervised PhD.
The seven fields named in the 2027 rules are:
- Biology and health
- Ecological transition
- Mathematics and digital sciences
- Engineering sciences
- French history, language and civilisation
- Law and political science
- Economics and management
The 36-month PhD route is only for students starting the first year of a thesis who are not already enrolled in France, and it cannot be combined with joint supervision. Students already partway through a PhD can get 12 or 18 months.
Five rules can stop or end an Eiffel award
The award cannot be combined with another French government scholarship, an Erasmus+ grant or a Francophonie university agency grant. It cannot be deferred. It stops if you repeat a year, change university, or take an internship in Pakistan or another country of your nationality.
- No deferral: the stay must start between 1 September and 30 November of the award year.
- Repeating a year ends the scholarship.
- Changing course is allowed only inside the same field and the same university.
- An internship in your home country stops the scholarship, even if the course requires it.
- A salaried doctoral contract is not compatible with Eiffel.
Students comparing European routes may also look at the Erasmus Mundus scholarship for Pakistanis. Remember that Eiffel and Erasmus+ cannot be held together.
How a Pakistani student gets nominated for Eiffel
Apply for admission to an eligible French master's or PhD, ask the international office to nominate you for Eiffel, and complete every document it asks for before its internal date. Pakistani applicants also go through Campus France Pakistan's Etudes en France platform for the course and visa.
- Shortlist French master's or PhD programmes in one of the seven fields.
- Check your age: 29 or under for master's, 35 or under for PhD.
- Apply for admission, through Etudes en France where your course uses it.
- Email the university's international office asking if it nominates for Eiffel and by what date.
- Send your transcripts, degree, English or French test and statement of purpose before that date.
- Wait for results from 12 April 2027.

If the university asks for attested degree documents, start HEC degree attestation early, because it can take weeks. If your course asks for an English test, check the IELTS fee in Pakistan before you book a date. Campus France Pakistan also runs a separate France Excellence call for Pakistani students in climate-related master's programmes, with its own November deadline.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read Campus France's France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship page in English and French on 1 November 2026, and the Eiffel 2027 rules document (updated September 2026) the same day. The allowance amounts, fields, lengths and rules above are from the rules document, which is in French; the translations are ours. The €28,800 figure is our arithmetic. The English page says the call is open but also lists the opening as October 2026, which is consistent. We could not find any rule on tuition fees for Eiffel scholars at individual universities, so ask each one.
