Short answer: National Savings says you can have profit from a Savings Account, a Pensioners' Benefit Account or Behbood Savings Certificates sent to any scheduled or commercial bank account in Pakistan. You do it with the withdrawal slip stamped with the National Savings Centre name and code, filled in and signed.

Collecting profit in person means a trip to the National Savings Centre, a queue and a cash handover. For a pensioner or a widow living far from a centre, that is a real cost. A bank account removes the trip. The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) allows this for three products.

We read the FAQ page, the Savings Account page and the profit rate page on savings.gov.pk on 14 October 2026. The FAQ shows "Last Updated 26 August 2025". We did not send a slip ourselves, so the steps below follow the department's own words.

Three products can send profit to a bank account

The FAQ names the Savings Account, the Pensioners' Benefit Account and Behbood Savings Certificates. It says profit can be transferred directly into any scheduled or commercial bank account across Pakistan. The FAQ does not list other schemes for this service.

That means holders of other certificates should ask their centre before assuming it works. Defence, Regular Income and Special Savings holders will not find this option in the answer we read. The three listed products pay at different times, so your slip use differs.

Rates come from the CDNS rate page that applies from 1 October 2026. Our summary is in National Savings profit rates from 1 October 2026.

The withdrawal slip does the work

The FAQ says the withdrawal slip book for your account will be stamped with the National Savings Centre name and a specified code. You fill in the slip fully, sign it and present it at a commercial or scheduled bank. That slip carries your instruction.

The stamp matters. A plain slip with no stamp may not be accepted, so check the book you were given. If your book has no stamp, return to the centre and ask them to stamp it. We did not find a fee for this on the pages we read.

  1. Take your withdrawal slip book from the National Savings Centre.
  2. Check that the book is stamped with the centre name and its code.
  3. Fill in every field of the slip and sign it as on your specimen.
  4. Go to a scheduled or commercial bank and present the slip with your account details.
  5. Keep the bank's receipt until the money shows in your account.
Steps to send National Savings profit to a bank account using a withdrawal slip

Know when your profit is due

For the Savings Account, CDNS says profit is credited on 30 June each year. The Pensioners' Benefit Account pays monthly, as set out in how to open a Pensioners' Benefit Account. Behbood pays on its own schedule, described in buy Behbood Savings Certificates.

Use the slip only after the profit has been credited to your National Savings account. A slip filed too early will find no balance. Ask the centre for the credit date of your product.

For the Savings Account, only three withdrawals a week are allowed. Count each slip as one withdrawal. A saver who files a slip each day will be stopped by that limit. Our guide to opening a National Savings Savings Account has the details.

Tax and Zakat still apply to the profit

Sending profit to a bank does not change the tax or Zakat treatment. The FAQ says the Savings Account has 15 percent withholding tax for filers, 30 percent for non-filers, and Zakat is applicable. Behbood and the Pensioners' Benefit Account are exempt from Zakat.

Our page on Zakat on National Savings schemes lists each product. The FAQ page is dated August 2025, so confirm today's tax rate with the centre before you rely on the numbers.

Raast may make this faster in time

The CDNS site says it is integrating Raast, Pakistan's instant payment system, for payments between National Savings accounts and bank accounts. It names profit payments and encashment as uses. The page gives no start date, fee or limit.

Until CDNS announces it, use the withdrawal slip. If you pay or receive money through the National Savings app and a transfer fails, our guide to the National Savings app transfer refund shows how to get it back.

If the bank refuses the slip

If a bank refuses the slip, ask for the reason in writing and go back to the centre. Call the CDNS helpline on (051) 111 267 268 or write to info@savings.gov.pk. If the bank itself is at fault, you can complain through the State Bank, as in the SBP Sunwai portal guide.
