We read Habib University's admission schedule, entrance test, exemption and student finance pages on 1 November 2026. The October series has already closed. Decisions are made on a rolling basis, so an earlier series means an earlier answer.
Habib University's 2027 cycle has four test series still open
The November series closes on 20 November 2026, with tests on 24 and 25 November. December closes on 23 December, January on 21 January 2027 and February on 16 February 2027. Interviews follow each test, and admission decisions are rolling.
| Series | Application and aid deadline | Entrance test dates | Interviews from |
|---|---|---|---|
| October (closed) | 21 October 2026 | 23 and 26 October 2026 | 30 October 2026 |
| November | 20 November 2026 | 24 and 25 November 2026 | 26 November 2026 |

The deadline in each row covers both the admission form and the scholarship and financial aid form. Families who need aid should submit both together. Habib says it may change dates, so check the schedule again before you pay.

The Habib entrance test checks English and Mathematics
Habib's entrance test is a computer-based standardised test prepared by the College Board. Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences applicants take English and Arithmetic. Science and Engineering applicants take English and Advanced Level Mathematics. Shortlisted students are interviewed after the test.
Which school you pick decides the maths paper. The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) tests basic arithmetic. The Dhanani School of Science and Engineering (DSSE) tests advanced maths, so FSc Pre-Engineering or A Level Maths students are the natural fit.
Programmes linked from the admissions page include:
- DSSE: BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Computer Science.
- AHSS: BA (Honors) Comparative Humanities, BSc (Honors) Social Development and Policy, BA (Honors) Communications and Design.
An SAT of 1400 or strong A Level grades can cut the test
An overall SAT score of 1400 or more, no older than two years, gives a partial exemption: you still write the English essay, and DSSE applicants still sit Advanced Level Maths. O and A Level students averaging 85 per cent across eleven subjects, with no grade below B, may be fully exempt for AHSS.
| Route | AHSS | DSSE |
|---|---|---|
| SAT 1400 or above | Partial exemption, essay still required | Partial exemption, Advanced Maths and essay still required |
| O and A Level average 85%, no grade below B | Complete exemption | English part only; Advanced Maths still required |
Send SAT scores to Habib with the College Board code 7344, and upload them under Upload Documents in the e-application. Matric and FSc students have no grade-based exemption on the page, so they sit the full test. The IBCC equivalence certificate is still needed later for O and A Level students who enrol.

Habib charges Rs 8,000 to apply and Rs 850,000 a semester for 2027-28
The non-refundable application fee is Rs 8,000. Tuition for the class starting in 2027 is Rs 850,000 per semester for both schools. New students also pay an enrolment fee of Rs 120,000 in round 1 or Rs 75,000 in round 2, plus a refundable security deposit of Rs 30,000.
| Charge | Amount | Refundable? |
|---|---|---|
| Application fee | Rs 8,000 | No |
| Tuition, 2027-28, per semester | Rs 850,000 | Not stated |
| Enrolment fee, round 1 | Rs 120,000 | No |
| Enrolment fee, round 2 | Rs 75,000 | No |
| Security deposit | Rs 30,000 | Yes |
By our arithmetic, two semesters come to Rs 1.7 million in tuition a year before any scholarship. That is why the aid form deserves as much care as the admission form. For comparison, IBA Karachi's undergraduate fee is charged per credit hour, and its own Fall 2027 round 1 deadline falls on 9 December 2026.
Scholarships at Habib range from 20 to 100 per cent
Entrance scholarships cover 20 to 100 per cent of tuition, based on merit score. A Level students compete for Habib YOHSIN (100%), Habib Excellence (60 to 80%) and Habib Merit (up to 50%). Matric and FSc students compete for HU TOPS (100%) and HU EOP (up to 80%).
Habib also offers need-based grants and help arranging student loans in Pakistan, plus semester awards of up to 10 per cent for high grades. Families comparing loan options can look at the NBP interest-free student loan as well.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read Habib University's admission schedule for the 2027 cycle, its entrance examination and exemptions pages, and its student finance page on 1 November 2026. The schedule page also shows a separate January block for an Islamabad test venue that is labelled as summer programme material; its link to the 2027 cycle is unclear, so we left it out. The Rs 1.7 million yearly figure assumes two semesters and is our arithmetic. The page does not say whether tuition is refundable after classes start, so we do not state it.
