HabibMetro App Registration: Sign Up Steps, Rs 5 Million Daily Limit and SMS Banking Codes on 9355

To register on the HABIBMETRO Insta Mobile App, turn on location, tap Register, enter your details and the one-time password sent to your registered email and SMS, pick the accounts to link and set a username and password. Then scan your fingers for the mandatory biometric check and wait out a 2-hour cooling period. Below are the steps in order, the Rs 5 million daily limit, the 9355 SMS banking codes, and the security rules HabibMetro itself sets.

HabibMetro app registration runs in four stages

HabibMetro's guide splits registration into 14 small screens. In practice there are four stages: sign up with an OTP, link accounts and create your login, pass a fingerprint check against NADRA, and wait 2 hours. Keep the phone with your registered number and email open.

1. Install the HABIBMETRO Insta Mobile App from Google Play, the App Store or Huawei AppGallery. HabibMetro says to download it only from official sources.
2. Turn on location when the app asks, then tap Register.
3. Enter the required details and the OTP sent to your registered email and SMS.
4. Select the accounts you want to link, then set your own username and password.
5. Log in. A mandatory biometric screen appears: watch the short demo, then scan your fingers as shown.
6. After the success message, wait 2 hours. HabibMetro applies a cooling period after biometric verification.

The OTP goes to both your registered email and SMS, so an old number or email on the bank's record stops you at step three. A branch visit fixes that. We did not register a live account, so the screen labels follow HabibMetro's guide.

HabibMetro app limits are Rs 5 million a day, shared across transfers

HabibMetro sets Rs 5 million a day for Raast payments, internal transfers, IBFT and utility bills. The same figure is the per-transaction limit. The limit is shared, so all four types together cannot pass Rs 5 million in a day.

That is high compared with many banks. Rs 5 million in one tap is also a lot to lose to one mistake or one scam. If you never send that much, it is worth lowering your limit, a step the SBP rules on bank app devices and transfer limits allow at every bank.

The HabibMetro app controls your debit card too

HabibMetro lists card controls in the app: activate or deactivate the card, and enable it for online and international payments. Login works with Face ID, a quick PIN or a fingerprint, and you can save favourite beneficiaries.

Leave international online payments off unless you are about to pay a foreign site. Switch them on, pay, switch them off. The same habit works at every bank, as described in how to turn off debit card online and international payments.

HabibMetro SMS banking on 9355 gives balance and cheque status

Send Balance to 9355 for your balance, MS for a mini statement, Chq In for the status of a cheque you deposited and Chq Out for a cheque you issued. HabibMetro says you subscribe to SMS banking at your branch.

The cheque status codes are the useful ones. A deposited cheque that has not cleared is a common worry, and Chq In answers it without a branch visit. When a cheque bounces, the charges and next steps are in cheque return charges in Pakistan.

HabibMetro names the only numbers its codes come from

HabibMetro says its PINs come only from 9355 or 8462, its emails only from the habibmetro.com domain, and it never calls to reset a mobile banking password. Any message from another sender, or a call asking for your password, is not the bank.

HabibMetro also advises registering your handset through Device Management in Web Banking, using the IMEI number on Android and the device name on iPhone, so the account opens only on that phone. If anything looks wrong, call its 24/7 line on 0800-42242 or 021-111-142-242.

A lost phone means blocking mobile banking first

Call 0800-42242 (0800-HABIB) or 111-1-42242 at once and ask the bank to block mobile banking. HabibMetro also has an Unregister Mobile and Internet Banking option on its site for customers who want to stop the service.

Block the SIM with your network as well, since OTPs go to it. And never hand your phone to anyone to "help" with the app. HabibMetro's own guidelines say the bank is not liable for losses when you do.
