HabibMetro pays 10.00% a year on its savings accounts for individuals with balances up to Rs 10 million, and 9.00% above that. Its term deposits pay 10.00% for one month up to 12.00% for three years, and the Izafa Certificate doubles Rs 100,000 to Rs 200,000 in 84 months. These are the rates on HABIB METRO Bank's current sheet, effective 1 September 2026.

We read the five page sheet on HabibMetro's profit rates page on 1 November 2026. It lists the previous rate next to each current one, so you can see exactly what moved. Below is every rupee savings account, every term deposit and scheme, what Rs 1 million earns, and the foreign currency rates.

HabibMetro savings accounts pay 10.00% to individuals up to Rs 10 million

Every HabibMetro rupee savings account for individuals pays 10.00% a year when the monthly average balance stays at Rs 10 million or less. Above Rs 10 million an individual earns 9.00%, down from 9.50% on the previous sheet. Profit is paid monthly, quarterly or half yearly, depending on the account.

Older savers should note one line. The Privilege 55 Plus Account, which its name pitches at older customers, used to pay 10.50%. It now pays 10.00%, the same as everyone else. Companies and other legal entities earn 9.00%, while financial institutions, public sector enterprises and public limited companies earn 8.50%.

HabibMetro term deposits pay 10.00% to 12.00% at maturity

A HabibMetro term deposit held to maturity pays 11.50% for one year, 11.75% for two years and 12.00% for three years. Short deposits pay 10.00% for one month and 10.50% for six months. Every tenor rose by 1.00 to 1.75 points on this sheet.

Three years is the peak. Four and five years pay a little less, so there is no reason to lock money away longer than three years for the rate alone. The Short Notice Term Deposit pays 10.00% for 7 days or for 30 days and over, and the Bharpoor Munafa Scheme pays 11.50% for one year at maturity.

The Special Term Deposit pays 12.00% a year for 13 or 15 months

HabibMetro's Special Term Deposit quotes a flat rate of 13.00% for 13 months and 15.00% for 15 months, both paid at maturity. Spread over a year, both work out to 12.00%, which is the figure the sheet itself prints in brackets.

That bracket matters. A flat 15.00% sounds better than 12.00%, but it covers 15 months, not 12. On the previous sheet these deposits paid 11.54% and 11.19% a year.

Mahana and Premium Deposit schemes pay monthly or quarterly profit

The HabibMetro Mahana Scheme pays monthly profit of 11.00% for one year and up to 11.38% for three years, from Rs 25,000. The Premium Deposit Scheme pays 11.05% to 12.00% depending on tenor and on whether profit comes quarterly, six monthly or yearly.

  • Mahana Scheme, monthly profit: 1 year 11.00% and 2 years 11.15% from Rs 25,000; 3 years 11.38% and 4 years 11.20% from Rs 50,000; 5 years 11.30% from Rs 100,000.
  • Premium Deposit Scheme, 1 year: 11.05% quarterly, 11.20% six monthly, 11.50% yearly.
  • Premium Deposit Scheme, 3 years: 11.50% quarterly, 11.65% six monthly, 12.00% yearly.
  • Premium Deposit Scheme, 5 years: 11.40% quarterly, 11.55% six monthly, 11.90% yearly.

The Izafa Certificate works differently. It pays nothing until you cash it, and the sheet gives a fixed value for every six months held. Rs 100,000 becomes Rs 108,500 after 12 months, Rs 128,375 after 36 months, Rs 158,875 after 60 months and Rs 200,000 after 84 months.

Rs 1 million at HabibMetro earns about Rs 115,000 in a year

A Rs 1 million HabibMetro term deposit for one year at 11.50% earns about Rs 115,000 at maturity, before tax. The Mahana Scheme at 11.00% pays about Rs 9,167 a month. A savings account at 10.00% earns about Rs 8,333 a month.

Doubling money in seven years with the Izafa Certificate equals about 10.4% a year compounded, by our sums. That is below the 12.00% three year deposit, but you never touch the profit until the end, which suits some savers. Withholding tax comes off all profit, so check the tax on bank profit for your filer status.

  1. Keep money you may need this year in a savings account at 10.00%. Rozana Munafa pays monthly.
  2. For money you can leave for three years, the 12.00% term deposit or the yearly Premium Deposit Scheme pays most.
  3. If you want a monthly income, compare the Mahana Scheme at 11.00% with Rozana Munafa savings at 10.00%.
  4. Ask the branch for the rate on the day you book. A term deposit keeps that rate until maturity.
  5. Check the first profit credit on your statement or in the HabibMetro app.

If you have not set up the app yet, registering for HabibMetro mobile banking takes a debit card and a few minutes.

Four steps to choose a HabibMetro savings account, term deposit or scheme

Savings should move to 10.5% from 1 November

SBP raised its policy rate to 12% from 27 October 2026, with its floor rate at 11%. Its rule sets the minimum savings rate 0.5 points below the floor from the next month, which points to 10.5% from 1 November. HabibMetro's sheet was still dated 1 September when we read it.

The minimum covers individuals with a monthly average balance up to Rs 10 million, the same line HabibMetro uses. The full rule is in how the SBP floor sets your savings rate. For a side by side look at other banks, see the fixed deposit rates at nine banks.

Foreign currency rates are low. A US dollar term deposit pays 1.00% for one month and 1.75% for one year, and a foreign currency savings account pays 0.25% on dollars and pounds.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read HabibMetro's profit rates page and the indicative profit rate sheet effective 1 September 2026 on 1 November 2026. The helpline is from HabibMetro's contact centre page. We also read SBP's 2013 minimum rate circular and SBP's home page for the 12% policy rate and 11% floor. The Izafa growth rate and rupee sums are our arithmetic. We could not verify the minimum amount for an ordinary term deposit, the early encashment terms, or whether HabibMetro will publish a November sheet.
