Hajj 2027 From Pakistan: Apply for Your POC Card Holder Spouse on the Pak Hajj App
Successful Hajj 2027 applicants can request a seat for a POC card holder spouse on the Pak Hajj app. See the 3 documents, the passport date and the quota rule.

If you are a successful Hajj 2027 applicant in Pakistan's government scheme and your husband or wife holds a Pakistan Origin Card (POC) and a foreign passport, you can now apply for them online through the Pak Hajj app or the Hajj management portal. You must upload their POC card, a foreign passport valid until 16 November 2027 and verified proof of marriage. The ministry approves these requests only if quota is left.
This rule came in a notice from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony dated 18 September 2026. We read it on the ministry's website on 20 October 2026. The notice is short and in Urdu, so below we set out what it says, what it does not say, and how to avoid a rejected request.
Many Pakistani families include one spouse with foreign nationality. For them, this notice is the official way to ask for a seat next to a successful applicant. It is a request, not a booking.
The ministry now accepts Hajj requests for a POC holder spouse
The 18 September 2026 notice opens a request window for a spouse who holds a Pakistan Origin Card and a foreign passport. Only a pilgrim already successful in the Hajj 2027 government scheme can apply for them, and the ministry decides each request against the quota.
The notice uses the word "spouse", and spells it out as husband or wife. It does not cover parents, children or siblings who hold a POC. A Pakistan Origin Card is a NADRA identity card for people of Pakistani origin who hold foreign nationality. If your spouse does not have one yet, the steps to apply for a Pakistan Origin Card come first.

Three documents decide whether the request is accepted
The notice asks for three things with every request: the spouse's POC card, a picture of a foreign passport valid until 16 November 2027, and correct, verified details of the marriage. A missing or expired item is the easiest way to lose the request.
| What to upload | What the notice says | What to check before you upload |
|---|---|---|
| POC card | The spouse's Pakistan Origin Card | The card is valid and the name matches the passport |
| Foreign passport | A picture of the passport, valid until 16 November 2027 | Expiry date is on or after 16 November 2027 |
| Proof of marriage | Correct and verified marital status details | A marriage certificate that NADRA or the issuing country recognises |
The passport date matters most. The notice fixes one cut-off, 16 November 2027, which is months after the Hajj season. A passport that expires in, say, August 2027 does not meet the notice, even though it is valid on the day you apply. Renew it first, then apply.
For proof of marriage, the notice does not name a document. A computerised marriage certificate is the safest choice. If your marriage took place abroad, have the foreign certificate attested first, the same way couples do when attesting a nikah nama at MOFA.
How to apply on the Pak Hajj app or portal
Everything happens online. The notice says the entry and all documents must go through the Pak Hajj app or the Hajj management portal built by the National Information Technology Board. Paper requests at a Hajj directorate are not part of this route.
- Log in to the Pak Hajj app, or the Hajj management portal, with the account used for your own successful application.
- Find the request for a POC card holder spouse. The notice does not name the menu, and we did not log in, so look under your application's requests.
- Enter your spouse's details exactly as printed on the foreign passport.
- Upload a clear picture of the POC card and of the passport data page.
- Upload your proof of marriage and check that the names match all three documents.
- Submit, take a screenshot of the confirmation, and watch the app for the ministry's decision.

The app has other recent options too, such as package change, cancellation and the hardship request for a mahram or helper. Those are covered in our note on the new Pak Hajj app features. The POC request is separate from the hardship request, so do not file the same spouse under both.
Approval depends on quota, so nothing is guaranteed
The notice ends with a clear warning: final approval of these requests will be given by the ministry according to quota availability. Submitting the documents does not reserve a seat, and the ministry gives no number of places for POC spouses.
That means two things in practice. First, do not book flights or pay any travel agent for your spouse until the app shows approval. Second, keep your own application on track. Your seat does not depend on your spouse's request, but your own payments and papers still do.
The government scheme's second instalment closed on 20 October 2026, and the app would not take it without an uploaded medical fitness certificate. The details are on our page on the Hajj 2027 second instalment. If your spouse is approved, expect the same medical form to apply to them, but the notice does not say so.

Questions the notice leaves open
The notice is five short lines. It gives no closing date, no fee and no payment schedule for the spouse. It also does not say how the Saudi visa will be handled for a foreign passport, so treat these points as unknown until the ministry or the app says more.
Here is what we could not find in the notice or the Hajj policy text we have read:
- A last date to submit a POC spouse request.
- Whether the spouse pays the same package price, and when.
- Whether the spouse must travel in the same group and flight.
- Whether a POC holder who lives in Pakistan uses the Pakistan or the overseas medical route.
Pakistan's general Hajj rules still apply to everyone, including the health and travel conditions in our guide to who cannot go on Hajj 2027. If your spouse is a woman travelling without a mahram, the separate Hajj 2027 mahram affidavit rules are worth reading too.
Common questions
Who can apply for a POC holder spouse for Hajj 2027?
Only a pilgrim who is already successful in the Hajj 2027 government scheme. The request is for their husband or wife who holds a Pakistan Origin Card and a foreign passport.
How long must the foreign passport be valid?
Until at least 16 November 2027, according to the ministry's 18 September 2026 notice.
Can I apply at a Hajj directorate office?
No. The notice says the request and all documents must be submitted online through the Pak Hajj app or the Hajj management portal.
Is approval guaranteed if all documents are correct?
No. The ministry will approve requests only as far as quota is available, and it has not said how many places exist.
Can a POC holder apply for a parent or child?
Not under this notice. It covers a spouse only, meaning a husband or wife.
Does this apply to private Hajj scheme pilgrims?
The notice is headed for the Hajj 2027 scheme and is aimed at successful applicants on the app. It does not mention private operators, so ask your operator directly.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the Ministry of Religious Affairs notice "Pakistan Origin POC card and Foreign Passport regarding Hajj 2027", dated 18 September 2026, on the ministry's latest news page on 20 October 2026. The notice is an Urdu image, and we translated it ourselves. We also read the ministry's 8 October 2026 notice on the medical certificate and second instalment deadline. We did not submit a request, and we could not find a closing date, fee or visa process for the spouse. Check the Hajj management portal before you apply.
