HBFC Loan Application Tracking Online: Check Status by CNIC, Proposal Number or Relation ID
Track your HBFC home loan application online with your CNIC and a proposal number or relation ID. See which stage to pick and what to do when nothing shows.

You track an HBFC home loan application on HBFC's own E-Tracking page at hbfc.com.pk/online-tracking. Enter your CNIC, choose Credit Application Tracking or Prior Approval Tracking, add your Proposal Number or Relation ID, and press Search. If you have neither number, call HBFC free on 0800-42325.
House Building Finance Company (HBFC) is the state-owned housing lender. It runs government-backed loans such as Ghar Ho Tu Apna and Ghar Sahulat alongside its own home loans. A loan file can sit for weeks between stages, and the tracker tells you which stage. We read HBFC's tracking and application pages on 24 October 2026.
HBFC's tracker asks for your CNIC and one of two numbers
The E-Tracking form has four inputs: CNIC, a choice between Credit Application and Prior Approval tracking, a Proposal Number and a Relation ID. Pick the type that matches the stage you applied for, then add the number HBFC gave you.
| Field on the HBFC tracker | What to enter | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| CNIC | The applicant's 13-digit CNIC | Use the main applicant's, not a co-applicant's |
| Tracking type | Credit Application or Prior Approval | Pick the stage you paid for or applied to |
| Proposal Number | The number on your HBFC paperwork | Ask the branch if you cannot find it |
| Relation ID | Your customer ID with HBFC | Ask the branch if you cannot find it |

How to track an HBFC loan application in five steps
Open the E-Tracking page, type your CNIC, choose the tracking type, add your Proposal Number or Relation ID and press Search. The result appears lower on the same page. The whole check takes about two minutes and costs nothing.
- Open hbfc.com.pk/online-tracking.
- Type the applicant's CNIC.
- Choose Credit Application Tracking or Prior Approval Tracking.
- Enter your Proposal Number, or your Relation ID.
- Press Search and read the result below the form.
We did not have a real proposal number, so we cannot show the result wording. HBFC's page does not say where the two numbers are printed. If your papers do not show them, the branch that took your file can give them to you.
Prior approval and credit application are two separate stages
The tracker treats prior approval and the full credit application as different stages. Prior approval comes first and has its own fee. Track the stage you are actually at, or the search may return nothing even though your file exists.
HBFC publishes its fees in a schedule of charges every six months, and the current one covers July to December 2026. The amounts, with legal and valuation charges, are in HBFC home loan charges. Keep every receipt, because the payment date tells the branch exactly which stage your file reached.

A missing paper can hold up your HBFC file
HBFC asks for three photos and three attested CNIC copies each for the applicant, co-applicants and guarantors. Salaried applicants add four months of salary slips, a salary certificate and bank statements. A gap in any of these holds the file.
| Applicant type | Bank statement needed, up to Rs 10 million | Above Rs 10 million |
|---|---|---|
| Salaried | Last 6 months | Last 1 year |
| Self-employed professional | Last 1 year | Last 2 years |
| Self-employed business | Last 1 year | Last 2 years |
| Rental income | Last 1 year | Last 1 year |
Self-employed applicants also give an income affidavit on Rs 50 stamp paper, attested by a notary, and utility bills for the business premises. Salaried applicants give utility bills for electricity and gas or PTCL. In a purchase, the seller's attested CNIC copy is needed too. HBFC's application requirements page has the full list.
When the tracker shows nothing, check the type, then call
An empty result usually means the wrong tracking type or a mistyped number. Switch between Prior Approval and Credit Application, and retry with the other number. If both fail, call HBFC's free line, 0800-42325, with your CNIC ready.
- Wrong type: a prior approval file will not show under Credit Application.
- Wrong CNIC: use the main applicant's CNIC, not a guarantor's.
- Very new file: if you applied only days ago, ask the branch whether your file has been entered.
- Still nothing: HBFC also lists (021) 35641711-15 and a WhatsApp chat on its site.
Overseas Pakistanis follow a separate document list. The steps for an HBFC home loan for overseas Pakistanis show what changes for them.

Tracking is free and HBFC staff will not ask for your PIN
Tracking your HBFC file costs nothing and needs no agent. Pay HBFC fees only through the channels HBFC names, and keep the receipts. Nobody from HBFC needs your bank PIN or a one-time code to move a file forward.
Once the loan is running, instalments can be paid online, and the steps to pay an HBFC instalment online cover 1Bill and wallets. If you are comparing government housing schemes first, the rules to apply for an Apna Ghar housing loan explain how the federal scheme works through banks.
Common questions
Can I track my HBFC loan by CNIC only?
No. The tracker asks for your CNIC plus a Proposal Number or a Relation ID, and the tracking type. Ask the branch for the number if you lost it.
What is the HBFC helpline number?
HBFC lists 0800-42325 as its free line, and (021) 35641711-15 for its Karachi head office.
What is the difference between prior approval and credit application tracking?
They are two stages of the same loan. Prior approval is the first step; the credit application is the full loan file. Choose the stage you reached.
Where do I find my HBFC Proposal Number?
HBFC's tracking page does not say where it is printed. Check the papers and receipts the branch gave you, or ask the branch that took your file.
Does the tracker cover Ghar Ho Tu Apna loans?
The tracker covers housing finance applications made to HBFC, and HBFC lists Ghar Ho Tu Apna among its home loans. Loans made by other banks are tracked with those banks.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read HBFC's E-Tracking page, its application requirements page and its home page on 24 October 2026. We did not run a search with a real proposal number, so we have not seen the result screen. HBFC does not say where the Proposal Number and Relation ID are printed. We saw that HBFC's schedule of charges for July to December 2026 is published, but we did not re-read its fee table today.
