HEC Law-GAT Result 2026: Check by CNIC for the 18 October Test, Due 6 November (Passing Marks and Next Date)
The Law-GAT result for the 18 October 2026 test is due on 6 November. Check it by CNIC on etc.hec.gov.pk, see the 50 mark rule and the 20 December retake.

The HEC Law-GAT result for the test held on Sunday 18 October 2026 is due on Friday 6 November 2026, and you check it by signing in at etc.hec.gov.pk with your CNIC and password. You need 50 out of 100 to qualify, the score stays valid for two years, and you get a maximum of seven attempts. Fail this time and the next Law-GAT is on 20 December.
Law-GAT, the Law Graduate Assessment Test, is the exam a law graduate must pass before seeking enrolment with the Bar as an advocate. We read the Education Testing Council (ETC) Law-GAT advertisement, its announcements page and its revised Test Calendar 2026 on 31 October 2026. Here is the result date, the check, what the score means and what comes next.
The Law-GAT result is due on 6 November 2026
ETC's revised calendar lists Friday 6 November 2026 as the result date for Law-GAT sitting 3, the one held on 18 October. On 31 October ETC had posted answer keys for this test but not the result.
When it posts, expect a line on the ETC announcements page with a link to the portal login. ETC used the same pattern for the LAT result of 16 October and the HAT result for August.

How to check the Law-GAT result by CNIC
There is no public result list by roll number. Your score sits in your ETC account. Sign in with your CNIC as username and the password you set when you registered, then open the Law-GAT entry for 18 October.
- Open etc.hec.gov.pk and press I Understand if the instructions box appears.
- Enter your CNIC without dashes and your password.
- Open the Law-GAT entry for the 18 October 2026 test.
- Read your score out of 100.
- Save the page as a PDF and print one copy for your Bar Council file.
Locked out? ETC resets passwords with a 5 digit code sent from etc@hec.gov.pk to your signup email. If that fails, raise a ticket at onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or call 051-111-119-432. Each step is in our ETC portal login and password reset page.

You need 50 out of 100, and the score lasts two years
ETC's advertisement says 50 out of 100 is a qualifying Law-GAT score and a 50 per cent score is required to pass. The score stays valid for two years, and each candidate has a maximum of seven chances to pass.
Two years is the window to start your enrolment. If you pass on 6 November, plan to use the score well before late 2028. If you are on your sixth or seventh attempt, count carefully before you register again, because the advertisement does not offer an eighth.
| Law-GAT rule | What ETC's advertisement says |
|---|---|
| Qualifying score | 50 out of 100 |
| Validity | Two years |
| Attempts | Maximum of seven chances |
| Who can sit | Bachelor's in Law or equivalent from a university recognised by HEC or the Pakistan Bar Council |
| Format | Multiple choice questions on ETC's revised curriculum |
Passing Law-GAT is not the same as being enrolled
A pass makes you eligible to seek enrolment with the Bar as an advocate. ETC's advertisement adds that you must also meet any other criteria in the rules and regulations of the Pakistan Bar Council. So the result is a gate, not a licence.
Keep the result PDF with your degree, transcript and CNIC copies for the enrolment file. Once you are enrolled, clients and courts can check your status, the way our page on verifying a lawyer's licence in Pakistan describes. If a dispute with a lawyer ever comes up, the route is different again and is covered in our page on complaints against a lawyer.

The next Law-GAT is on 20 December 2026
If you miss the mark, ETC's calendar has one more sitting this year. Registration opens on Sunday 15 November and closes on Sunday 29 November. Slips come on Friday 11 December, the test is on Sunday 20 December and the result on Thursday 31 December 2026.
Use the answer keys now to estimate your score, so you can decide about December as soon as the result lands. Register with your own CNIC only, press Submit rather than Save, and pay through 1Link 1Bill, then click Verify Online Payment. The test rules from October, including what to bring, are on our Law-GAT 18 October roll number slip and syllabus page.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 31 October 2026. We read ETC's Law-GAT advertisement (Law-GAT Final.jpeg on hec.gov.pk), the ETC announcements page, which lists "Answer keys for LAW GAT held on Oct 18, 2026", and the revised ETC Test Calendar 2026 from the ETC test calendar page, all on 31 October 2026. No result had been posted, so 6 November is the calendar date, not a confirmed release. The roll number slip date of 9 October comes from our earlier Law-GAT page. We could not see a logged-in result screen, and Bar Council enrolment rules beyond the advertisement were not checked.
