Pakistan reached it by beating hosts Hong Kong, China by 6 wickets on Saturday, but the defending champions missed the Cup semi-finals after the UAE topped their group.

Pakistan beat Hong Kong, China by 6 wickets in the Plate semi-final
Hong Kong, China made 106 for 3 in their 6 overs. Pakistan chased it with a 90 run opening stand between captain Abbas Afridi and Khawaja Nafay. Afridi hit 55 off 13 balls and retired after reaching his fifty, as the format allows.
The hosts batted first after winning the toss. Ahmed Daniyal removed Babar Hayat early. Anshuman Rath, 37 off 15, and Nizakat Khan, 38 off 10, then added 87 for the second wicket. Irfan Khan pulled it back with two wickets in one over, Nizakat and captain Yasim Murtaza.
Afridi's 55 had 7 sixes and 3 fours. Nafay made 34 off 10. After Afridi retired, Abdul Samad came in and finished it with 17 not out off 4 balls. The organisers' report does not give the overs Pakistan needed.

The UAE topped Group C, so Pakistan dropped to the Plate
Pakistan finished second in Group C behind the UAE. They beat India by 4 wickets on Friday but had already lost their first game to the UAE. When the UAE also beat India on Saturday, the UAE won the group and took the Cup place.
The UAE beat India by 6 wickets on Saturday, chasing 95 in 4.2 overs without losing a wicket. Captain Khalid Shah made 52 not out off 14. That gave the UAE two wins from two. Oman reached the final behind Usman Ali's six-hitting
Oman beat Sri Lanka in the first Plate semi-final, chasing 93 in 4.4 overs. Their openers added 86. Usman Ali hit 46 off 14 with 7 sixes, and Zohaib Amanat made 43 not out off 13. Sri Lanka Cricket's own report puts the margin at 9 wickets.
Usman Ali is the man for Pakistan to stop. On Saturday morning he made 71 not out off 17 balls against Afghanistan, with 10 sixes. That is 117 runs in two innings, by our sum. Oman still lost that game, as Afghanistan chased 121 in 5.2 overs.
Pakistan's best answer is their own openers. Afridi has made 35 off 8 against India and 55 off 13 against Hong Kong, China, according to the organisers' reports of the two wins.
