The IESCO complaint number is 118, and you can also send a complaint by SMS to 8118. For a wrong bill, a faulty meter or a name change, IESCO runs 11 customer care centres in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Taxila, Fateh Jang and Chakwal, each with a landline and an office mobile number.

Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) supplies power from Attock to Jhelum and up to Azad Kashmir. We read its website on 24 October 2026: the homepage, its customer centres page and its frequently asked questions. Below are all 11 centre numbers, which problem goes where, and what IESCO itself says to do when its helpline is busy.

IESCO takes complaints on 118 and SMS 8118

IESCO's homepage shows two complaint contacts, highlighted: call 118 or send an SMS to 8118. Use 118 for a power cut, a sparking wire or a fallen line. Use the online complaint system or a customer care centre for billing problems, so you get a written record.

The homepage also links a "Complaint" button to ccms.pitc.com.pk, the shared complaint system run by the Power Information Technology Company (PITC) for the government power companies. When we tried it on 24 October, it returned a server error. If it fails for you, use 118 or a centre below and ask for a complaint number.

Keep the complaint number. It is what you quote if you later escalate to the regulator. Registering an urgent complaint on the NEPRA app is the next step when IESCO does not act.

IESCO runs 11 customer care centres with their own numbers

IESCO lists 11 customer care centres: three in Islamabad, three in Rawalpindi and five in other towns. Each has an office landline and an office mobile. Go to one for bills, duplicate bills, arrears corrections and paperwork that needs a person to look at your account.

IESCO's page prints some landlines without the leading zero or area code, such as 519290845. We have added the leading zero and area code (051 for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, 0544 for Jhelum, 0543 for Chakwal, 057 for Attock and Fateh Jang). The digits are unchanged.

Each IESCO problem has a set place to take it

IESCO's own answers to common questions point each problem to a set place. Power cuts go to 118. Wrong arrears go to a centre or your sub division with the paid receipt. Frequent outages in one area go to your Sub Divisional Officer, who can see the fault.

ProblemWhere IESCO says to goTake with you
No power, sparking, fallen wire118 or SMS 8118Reference number from the bill
Arrears on a bill you already paidSub division, customer care centre or the bank branchPrevious bill's bank receipt
Bill not receivedCustomer care centre for a duplicateReference number
Meter not read, or "def est" on the billYour sub division officeRecent bills and a meter photo
Frequent outages in your areaYour Sub Divisional OfficerDates and times of the cuts

Two details from IESCO's answers are worth knowing. The meter is read once a month, on the date shown in column 9 of your bill. And the division where your Customer Services Officer sits is printed in column 34. That tells you which office owns your account before you travel anywhere.

A "def est" bill means IESCO has declared your meter defective and is charging on last year's use for the same months. IESCO says to contact your sub division if the meter is not replaced within two to three months. The steps for getting a faulty meter checked and replaced apply here too.

When 118 is busy, IESCO points you elsewhere

IESCO's own answer for a busy helpline is to contact its central control centre. In practice, the 11 centre mobiles above are the most direct numbers it publishes. Write down the time of every call and keep any complaint number you are given.

  1. Call 118. If it is busy, send an SMS to 8118 with your reference number and the problem.
  2. Call the office mobile of your nearest customer care centre from the table above.
  3. For a bill error, visit the centre or your sub division with the bill and your last receipt.
  4. Ask for a complaint number and the name of the officer handling it.
  5. If nothing is fixed, take the complaint number to NEPRA.

NEPRA sets time limits for each kind of bill complaint, and some are short. Read the deadlines for electricity bill complaints before you wait too long, because a wrong reading has only 7 days.

IESCO's head office and apps

IESCO's head office is at Street 40, Sector G-7/4, Islamabad, on 051-9252937, 051-9252938 and 051-9252939, fax 051-9252927. When we checked in August, IESCO's site sent new connection applicants to Power Smart, PITC's app, or the IESCO Smart App.

Power Smart, published by the Power Information Technology Company, showed more than 1 million downloads on Google Play when we looked on 24 October 2026, with its last update on 22 October. To see or print a bill without any app, use IESCO bill check online with the 14 digit reference number.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 24 October 2026. The 118 and 8118 contacts and the complaint link come from the IESCO homepage. Centre addresses, phones and mobiles come from the IESCO Customer Centers page. The advice on arrears, def est bills, meter reading dates, column 9 and column 34 comes from IESCO's FAQ page, and the head office numbers from its contact page. The Power Smart download count and update date come from its Google Play listing. The complaint system at ccms.pitc.com.pk returned a server error when we tried it. We did not call any number, so we cannot report waiting times.
