To track an Islamabad High Court complaint, open mis.ihc.gov.pk, go to Complaint / HR Cell, choose Track Complaint Status, and enter your tracking number and your CNIC or NICOP as numbers only. The result shows your complaint date, the grievance, the current status and a dated history of every step.

The same Complaint and Human Rights Cell takes new complaints online, from Islamabad residents and overseas Pakistanis. Below we cover what the cell deals with, how to register a complaint, how to read the tracker, and the phone and WhatsApp numbers the court publishes. We read every page on 27 October 2026.

The IHC Human Rights Cell handles complaints against officials

The Islamabad High Court set up its Human Rights Cell in 2013. Its page says it receives applications from the public about human rights violations by government offices and private persons, asks the office concerned for a report, and aims at speedy relief on the administrative side.

Two more jobs are listed. The cell runs an overseas complaint cell for Pakistanis abroad, and it forwards deserving applicants for free legal aid to the District Legal Empowerment Committee. It also takes on tasks given by the Chief Justice and the judges.

Track your complaint with two numbers

The tracker needs only the tracking number from your registration and your 13-digit CNIC or NICOP, typed without dashes. It shows the tracking ID, your name, phone, complaint date, email, grievance and current status, then a table of every status change with its date and a description.

  1. Open mis.ihc.gov.pk and click Complaint / HR Cell.
  2. Choose Track Complaint Status.
  3. Type the tracking number in digits only.
  4. Type your CNIC or NICOP as 13 digits, with no dashes.
  5. Press Search and read Current Status first, then the dated history below it.
  6. If a detail is wrong or missing, contact the concerned branch to have it corrected, as the tracker itself advises.

The tracker warns that only numbers are allowed in both boxes, and shows the CNIC format as 13 digits with no dashes. Check for a stray dash or space before you assume the complaint is missing.

Steps to track an Islamabad High Court complaint status online

Register a new complaint as a resident or from abroad

Register New Complaint asks you to choose Local Residents or Overseas Pakistanis. You then give your name, CNIC or NICOP, email, a phone number in +92 format, address and a short grievance title, then the complaint itself in up to 4,000 characters, and a verification code.

Four thousand characters is roughly 600 to 700 words, by our estimate. That is enough for the facts if you write plainly: who, which office, what happened, on which dates, and what you want done. Save the tracking number the moment it appears.

The form carries a warning: fake data will not be entertained, and inappropriate language may lead to legal action. Keep the tone factual even if you are angry.

If you prefer paper, the page links a Complaint Form PDF. The court's address for general inquiries is Islamabad High Court, Constitution Avenue, G-5, Islamabad.

Help hours are Monday to Saturday, with a short Friday

The complaint pages list help hours of 8:30 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Saturday, and 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday. Sunday is closed. The WhatsApp number is +92 313 6552827, the exchange is +92 51 9228191 to 4, and the email is info@ihc.gov.pk.

Some phone and fax lines on the cell's contact table show placeholder zeros, such as 051-0000000, rather than real numbers. Use the WhatsApp number and the exchange, which are filled in.

Use the right body when the cell is not the answer

The cell is for grievances against officials and rights violations. It is not where you check your own court case; that is the IHC case status search on the same site. A complaint about a federal department's delay can also go to the Wafaqi Mohtasib, whose complaint status check works differently.

For police problems in Islamabad, such as an FIR not registered, the police run their own open courts for complaints. A complaint about a judge's conduct follows separate rules again.

Common questions

What do I do if I lost my tracking number?

The tracker needs the tracking number and the CNIC together. If you lost it, check the confirmation screen or any message you saved, then contact the cell on WhatsApp at +92 313 6552827 with your CNIC and complaint date.

Can overseas Pakistanis use the IHC complaint form?

Yes. Choose Overseas Pakistanis at the top of the form and use your NICOP number. Other High Courts run their own cells, compared for overseas Pakistanis complaining to a High Court.

Is there a fee for an IHC complaint?

We saw no fee on the complaint, tracker or registration pages.

Can the cell get me a free lawyer?

It can forward a deserving applicant to the District Legal Empowerment Committee for free legal aid, under its stated scope. Islamabad also has a separate LAJA free legal aid route for criminal cases.

How long does the cell take to act?

The pages we read give no time limit. The tracker's dated history at least lets you see whether anything has moved.

Can I complain about a private person?

The scope says the cell deals with human rights violations by government offices and private persons. A dispute over money or property with a private person is usually a court case, not a complaint.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the Islamabad High Court's Complaint / HR Cell introduction, the Track Complaint Status page and the registration form on 27 October 2026. We did not register a complaint, so we have not seen a tracking number or a live result. We did not open the linked Complaint Form PDF or the cell's notification.
