Instagram Account Disabled or Suspended: How to Appeal From Pakistan
Instagram disabled or suspended your account? Appeal from the login screen, the deadlines Meta gives, how it differs from a hack, and the scams to avoid.
If Instagram has disabled or suspended your account, open the Instagram app and try to log in. Instagram's Help Center says the disabled message on that screen is where you ask for a review. There is no phone line, no email address and no paid agent that can do it for you.
A disabled account is not a hacked account. Meta has decided you broke its rules, or thinks you did. The fix is an appeal, not a password reset. If you can still reach a login screen but someone else changed your email or password, follow the steps to recover a hacked Instagram account instead.

Disabled, suspended or hacked: tell them apart first
Instagram shows a message when you log in to a disabled account. If you see no such message, Instagram says the problem is a login issue, a hacked account or a deleted account. Each has a different fix, so read the screen before you do anything else.

Instagram is clear on deleted accounts: "there's no way to restore it". You can make a new account with the same email, but you may not get the same username back.
How to appeal a disabled Instagram account
Instagram says that if you think your account was disabled by mistake, you "may be able to ask us to review the decision by logging into Instagram and following the on-screen instructions". The appeal starts from the login screen, not from a form someone sends you.
- Open the official Instagram app, or instagram.com in a browser.
- Log in with your username and your current password.
- Read the whole disabled or suspended message. Note any deadline it shows.
- Tap the option to appeal or request a review, if one is offered.
- Follow each step. You may be asked to confirm your identity.
- Watch the email address on the account for Meta's reply.
Keep the appeal short and factual. Say what the account is for and why you think the decision is wrong. Instagram's Terms of Use forbid "fraudulent or groundless" appeals, so do not send the same false claim again and again.
If there is no appeal button, Meta's Transparency Center says it will "let you know whether you can request another review". Some decisions simply cannot be appealed.
The appeal deadline and how long a review takes
Instagram's own disabled account page gives no fixed deadline. For Facebook, Meta says a suspension can be appealed within 180 days and that the period "varies by region". The only deadline that counts for you is the one on your login screen, so act the same day.
For a suspended Facebook account, Meta says that after 180 days, or after a failed appeal, the account is disabled for good and "you won't be able to request another review". Treat an Instagram suspension as just as final if you let it run out.

Instagram also warns that a review request "may be closed before we can review it". So a slow answer is not a sign that anything went wrong. Do not open a second account while you wait.
Why Instagram disables accounts
Meta disables accounts that keep breaking its Community Standards after warnings, and some accounts after a single severe breach. Meta's page on disabling accounts says that after five strikes you may face 30 day posting limits or lose the account. Fake identities and accounts made to dodge a ban are removed on sight.
- Repeated strikes: each removed post can add a strike. Meta says strikes expire after one year.
- One severe breach: child sexual exploitation content leads to removal after one occurrence.
- Identity: pretending to be someone else, or a new account made to get round a ban.
- Age: Instagram says that in some regions it may disable accounts for people in a certain age range under local law.
Most accounts get a warning first. Instagram says, "In most cases, you'll get a warning before losing access to your account."
Check Account Status before your account is lost
If you can still log in, open Account Status. It shows removed posts, features you can no longer use, and a Request a review button for each removal. Fixing strikes here is far easier than appealing a disabled account later.
In the app, go to your profile, tap the menu, and under "More info and support" tap Help, then Account Status. On a computer, click More, then Settings, then Account Status. Tap Removed content to see each post and ask for a review. Review requests also appear under Support Requests, then Violations.
If Instagram's review goes against you, you may be able to take a content decision to the Oversight Board, a separate review body. You get a reference number in Support Requests and have 15 days to use it at oversightboard.com. The board picks only a small number of cases.
Scams that target disabled accounts in Pakistan
Meta has no general public phone number for customer support, and it never asks for your password by email. Anyone on WhatsApp, TikTok or Instagram who offers to unban your account for a fee is running a scam. They take the money, and often the account's login too.
Real Meta emails come from domains such as instagram.com, facebookmail.com and meta.com. Check the sender before you click. The same scams hit Facebook users, and recovering a hacked Facebook account starts with the same warning. If you have lost money to a fake "recovery agent", you can report the cybercrime to NCCIA, the national cyber crime agency.
Common questions
How long does Instagram take to review a disabled account appeal?
Instagram does not give a fixed time for account appeals. For removed posts it says a reply can take up to 90 days, and a request may be closed without review.
Can I appeal again if Instagram rejects my appeal?
Usually not. For suspended Facebook accounts Meta says a failed appeal is final. Some content decisions can go to the Oversight Board within 15 days.
Is there an Instagram helpline number in Pakistan?
No. Meta says it has no general public phone number for customer support. Any number offering to restore your account is not Meta.
Can I get my username back after my account is deleted?
Not guaranteed. Instagram says a deleted account cannot be restored, and a new account may not get the same username.
Will making a new account get me banned again?
It can. Meta says it disables accounts created to get around its restrictions.
