How to Complain to Islamabad Police Online and Track Your Complaint
File a complaint with Islamabad Police online, attach evidence and track it by complaint ID. Plus what 15, 1815, 1715 and 1915 are for. Checked 26 Sep 2026.

To complain to Islamabad Police online, open the Report an Incident form at islamabadpolice.gov.pk/fms/complaints.php, fill in your details and the incident, attach any evidence, and keep the complaint ID to track it. In an emergency, call 15 instead.
That form is the police's own public complaint system, and the page says it was developed by Safe City Islamabad. It works for reporting a crime, a problem at a police station, or anything you want the Islamabad Capital Territory police to look into.
We went through every field of the form and the police helplines on the Islamabad Police website on 26 September 2026. We did not submit a test complaint, because a false report wastes police time.
Call 15 first if anyone is in danger right now
The online form is for complaints that can wait a few hours. If a crime is happening now, someone is hurt, or you are being threatened, call 15, the police emergency number. The form is not watched like an emergency line.
Islamabad Police lists four numbers on its website, and each has a different job:
| Number | What it is for |
|---|---|
| 15 | Police emergency, a crime happening now |
| 1815 | Online Women Police Station, for women who need police help |
| 1715 | IGP Complaint Cell, complaints about police service or conduct |
| 1915 | Traffic helpline and public assistance |

The 1715 line matters more than most people realise. If a police station refuses to register your case, or an officer behaves badly, 1715 goes to the Inspector General's complaint cell rather than back to the same station.
How to submit the online complaint, step by step
The form asks for your identity, the incident, and optional evidence, then gives you a way to track it. It takes about ten minutes if you have your CNIC and the facts ready. Every field has an Urdu label next to the English one.
- Open islamabadpolice.gov.pk/fms/complaints.php and stay on the "Submit your complaint" tab.
- Choose the city, then the police station for the area where the incident happened.
- Enter your address, your full name and your father's or guardian's name.
- Pick the incident date and type the incident location.
- Enter your CNIC in the format XXXXX-XXXXXXX-X, or your passport number if you are a foreigner, and select your gender and country.
- Choose the nature of the complaint from the list.
- Add your contact number, and your WhatsApp number if you want updates there.
- If an FIR already exists, enter its number and police station.
- Describe what happened in at least 30 characters and no more than 1,000.
- Attach evidence if you have it, as a PDF, JPG or PNG file.
- Tick the declaration and press Register. Save the complaint ID it gives you.

Write the details as plainly as you would tell them to an officer: what happened, when, where, who was involved and what was taken or damaged. A thousand characters is about 150 words, so keep it to facts. Leave out opinions about the other person.
What the declaration means before you press Register
The form makes you confirm two things: that your facts are correct to the best of your knowledge, and that you have not already lodged a complaint on the same subject. You cannot submit without ticking it, so read it rather than clicking through.
The second point catches people out. If you have already complained about the same matter, say by calling 1715, filing a second online complaint can count as a repeat. Use the Check Status tab to follow the first one instead.
A false complaint is a serious matter under Pakistani law. Report what you saw or know, and say clearly when you are not sure of a detail.
How to check your complaint status
Switch to the "Check Complaint Status" tab on the same page and enter your complaint ID or e-tag number. The form's status list shows three stages: Pending, Completed and Filed.
- Pending means the complaint is open and being looked into.
- Completed means the police have closed it with action.
- Filed means it has been closed and put on record.
The page does not define these stages in more detail, so if a complaint shows Filed and you do not know why, call 1715 with your complaint ID and ask what was done.

Other ways to reach Islamabad Police
The online form is one of several routes. Islamabad Police also runs a WhatsApp chat, the 1INFO mobile app, online service pages and walk-in facilitation. Pick the one that matches what you need, not just the first one you find.
- WhatsApp. The website links a WhatsApp chat on 0332 6001069 for messages to the police.
- 1INFO app. The Safe City page describes it as one app for incident reporting, complaints and safety information.
- Lost items and FIR copies. Separate service pages cover a lost report and a copy of an FIR.
- Facilitation on Wheels. A mobile police service whose schedule and services are posted on the Islamabad Police website.
If your problem is outside Islamabad, this form is the wrong place. Punjab has its own routes to report to police without going to a station, and you can check an FIR online in most provinces. For every other emergency number, see the emergency helpline numbers in Pakistan.
Why Safe City is behind the complaint system
Safe City Islamabad is the police division that runs the city's surveillance cameras, the emergency command centre and the digital services, including this complaint form. Its cameras can support an investigation, which is one reason to give an exact place and time.
The same cameras are now protected by a new law. On 26 September 2026 the President was reported to have approved an ordinance allowing fines of up to Rs 2 million for damaging Safe City cameras, including during protests.
Common questions
Can I file an FIR online in Islamabad?
The online form registers a complaint, which is not the same thing as an FIR. The form has a field for an FIR number only if one already exists. If a police station refuses to register your FIR, complain to the IGP Complaint Cell on 1715.
Do I need a CNIC to complain to Islamabad Police online?
Yes, or a passport number if you are a foreign national. The form will not submit without one.
How do I complain about a police officer in Islamabad?
Call the IGP Complaint Cell on 1715, or use the online form and choose the relevant nature of complaint. Include the officer's name or number, the police station, the date and what happened.
Is there a women's police helpline in Islamabad?
Yes. The Online Women Police Station is on 1815, and the Safe City page says it is managed by trained female police officers.
What files can I attach as evidence?
PDF, JPG, JPEG and PNG files. For a video, describe it in the complaint and keep the file safe, because the form does not accept video.
How long does an Islamabad Police complaint take?
The website does not publish a time limit. Check the status with your complaint ID, and if nothing moves, call 1715.
