Jazz publishes its own 5G supported phones list, and on 28 October 2026 it held 488 models from 13 brands: Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, Motorola, Vivo, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Infinix, Nothing, ZTE and Kyocera. If your exact model is on it, your current Jazz 4G SIM and your current package already work on 5G. You do not need a new SIM or a new bundle.

Below we give the full brand count, the main models people ask about, how to switch 5G on, and what to do when the 5G icon still does not appear. We read the list on Jazz's 5G Handsets page on 28 October 2026.

Jazz 5G works on 488 phone models from 13 brands

Jazz's 5G list had 488 rows on 28 October 2026, across 13 brands. Honor has the most entries at 169, then Xiaomi at 82 and Motorola at 76. Apple has 26 models and Samsung 53, including tablets and foldables.

Some rows repeat the same phone under a slightly different name, so the real number of distinct phones is a little lower. That does not change the answer for you. Search the list for your exact model name.

Every iPhone from the iPhone 12 onward is on Jazz's 5G list

Jazz lists 26 iPhone models: the iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 families, the iPhone 17e, the iPhone Air and the iPhone SE (3rd generation). Jazz says iPhones need iOS 26.5 or later for Jazz 5G.

The iPhone 18 models were not on the list we read on 28 October 2026. That may simply mean Jazz has not updated the page yet. If you own one, update iOS first, then check whether a 5G icon appears in a covered area.

Your iPhone also needs to be PTA registered to use any Pakistani SIM at all. You can check a phone's PTA status before you worry about 5G.

Budget buyers are covered too. The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, A17, A26 5G and A36 5G are listed. Infinix has 16 models including the Note 50 Pro+ 5G and Hot 60 Pro+. Tecno has 13, including the Camon 40 series.

Not every phone with 5G in its name made the list, and some 5G phones sold abroad use bands Pakistan does not use. Jazz says this plainly in its FAQ: a phone bought abroad may not work on Jazz 5G even if it is a 5G model elsewhere.

  • Samsung: Galaxy A16 5G, A26 5G, A36 5G, A56 5G, S23, S24, S25 and S26 series, Z Flip5 and Flip6, Z Fold5 and Fold6.
  • Xiaomi and Redmi: Redmi Note 13 5G, Note 14 5G, Note 14 Pro 5G, Note 15 5G, Redmi 15 5G, Redmi 13C 5G, Xiaomi 14T and 15T.
  • Infinix: Zero 30 5G, Zero 40 5G, Note 40 Pro+ 5G, Note 60, Note 60 Pro, Note 60 Ultra.
  • Tecno: Camon 30 Pro 5G, Camon 40 Pro, Camon 40 Premier, Pova Curve 5G.

You need a 5G phone, a 4G SIM and a covered area

Jazz 5G needs three things together: a phone on Jazz's list, any Jazz 4G SIM, and a spot inside Jazz 5G coverage. Jazz says there is no separate 5G package and no extra charge. Your normal data bundle is used.

Coverage is the limit for most people. Jazz's FAQ says 5G started on about 180 sites in eight cities: Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad. The same FAQ now says 1,000 live sites across 10 cities. Jazz does not name the two extra cities in that answer, so check the Jazz 5G coverage map for your area.

There is a longer look at where Jazz and Zong 5G work if you are deciding between the two networks.

Three things needed for Jazz 5G in Pakistan: a listed 5G phone, a Jazz 4G SIM and a 5G covered area

How to turn on Jazz 5G on an Android phone

On most listed phones 5G switches on by itself when you are in coverage. If it does not, set the network type by hand. These are the steps Jazz gives for Android.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Mobile Networks (on some phones it is under Connections or SIM).
  3. Choose your Jazz SIM if the phone has two.
  4. Tap Preferred Network Type.
  5. Choose 5G or the 5G/LTE/3G/2G auto option.

On an iPhone, update to iOS 26.5 or later, then open Settings, Mobile Service, Mobile Data Options, Voice and Data, and choose 5G Auto or 5G On. The general steps for every network are in how to enable 5G on your phone.

When the 5G icon does not appear

If your phone is on the list but you never see 5G, the cause is almost always coverage, settings or old software. Work through these checks before you call 111.

  • Coverage: you must be inside a 5G area. Indoors, the signal is weaker.
  • Settings: the network type must allow 5G, not LTE only.
  • Software: update the phone. Jazz says some Samsung and iPhone models needed an update to get Jazz 5G.
  • Idle switching: Jazz says phones drop back to 4G when idle to save battery. Seeing 4G at rest is normal.
  • SIM: an old 3G SIM will not work. Dial *443*7# to check whether your SIM is 4G, as the Jazz 4G FAQ says.

If you still have an old 3G SIM, the 4G SIM and VoLTE check explains the swap.

Buying a phone for Jazz 5G: check before you pay

Do not trust a shop's word that a phone "has 5G". Match the exact model name against Jazz's list, including suffixes like Pro, Plus or 5G. A Galaxy S23 FE and a Galaxy S23 FE 5G are separate rows on the list.

Watch out for imported models. A phone made for the US or China may lack the bands Pakistan uses. And if you are comparing networks, Zong publishes its own list, which is not the same: see the Zong 5G supported phones list.

Common questions

Do I need a new SIM for Jazz 5G?

No. Jazz says any SIM that supports 4G also supports 5G. Only an old 3G SIM needs replacing.

Is there a separate Jazz 5G package?

No. Jazz says there are no separate 5G packages. Your existing prepaid or postpaid data bundle works on 5G, and base rates apply if no bundle is active.

Does Jazz 5G cost more?

No. Jazz says 5G is used on your current package with no extra charge.

Is the iPhone 16 on the Jazz 5G list?

Yes. The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are all listed. Jazz says iPhones need iOS 26.5 or later.

Why does my phone keep switching between 4G and 5G?

Jazz says this is normal. Phones use 5G during active data and fall back to 4G when idle, or when you move out of a 5G area.

Which cities have Jazz 5G?

Jazz's FAQ names Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad for the first rollout, and says 10 cities now have 1,000 live sites. Check the coverage map for your street.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Jazz's 5G Handsets page, including its FAQ, and the Jazz 5G SIM page on jazz.com.pk on 28 October 2026, and counted the 488 rows in the handset list ourselves. We could not see the coverage map's site list, which loads separately, and Jazz does not name the two cities added after the first eight. We did not test 5G on a handset. The list changes as Jazz adds phones, so check it again before you buy.
