KP E-Challan Check Online: Verify a Peshawar Traffic Challan by Ticket Number
Check a KP e-challan online on the Peshawar Traffic Police site with your ticket number. There is no CNIC search, so see what to do if the slip is lost.

To check a KP e-challan online, open ptpkp.gov.pk/challan-verification, type the challan (ticket) number printed on your slip, and press Search Challan. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa traffic police form takes the ticket number only. It does not search by CNIC or number plate, so keep the slip safe until the fine is cleared.
That one rule catches most people out. We opened the page on 24 October 2026, tested it with a made-up number, and read the fine schedule and contact numbers on the same site. Below are the steps, what to do if the slip is lost, the main fines, and how KP compares with Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad and the motorway.
The KP challan check works only with the ticket number
The verification page has one box, labelled Enter Challan Number, and one button, Search Challan. There is no CNIC field and no vehicle number field. If you have the paper slip, the check takes a few seconds. Without it, the online route cannot help.
The page sits on the website of the Peshawar Traffic Police, titled KP Traffic Challan Verification Online. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police website links its own Traffic Challan Verification button to the same address, so this is the official route, not a copy.
When we entered a made-up number, 123456, the page answered "No data availale", spelt that way on the site. So a wrong or mistyped number gives an empty result, not an error. Check every digit against the slip before you assume the challan has gone.
| What you have | Can you check online in KP? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The challan slip with a ticket number | Yes | Use the Search Challan form |
| Only your CNIC | No | Call 1915 or visit a traffic office |
| Only the number plate | No | Call 1915 or visit a traffic office |
| A photo of the slip | Yes | Read the ticket number off the photo |

How to check a Peshawar traffic challan in five steps
Find the ticket number on your slip, open the official page in a normal browser, wait for the security check to finish, enter the number and search. The whole check takes under a minute once the page has loaded.
- Find the challan or ticket number on the paper slip the officer gave you.
- Open ptpkp.gov.pk and choose Traffic Challan Verification, or go straight to the challan verification page.
- Wait a few seconds. The site runs a Cloudflare check that says "Performing security verification" before it opens.
- Type the number exactly as printed and press Search Challan.
- Read the result. If it says no data, retype the number and try again before calling the helpline.
The security screen looks alarming, but it is normal for this site. It blocked our first automated attempt and opened after a short wait in an ordinary Chrome window. On a slow phone connection it may take longer. Do not refresh it again and again, because that restarts the check.

Lost the slip? Call 1915 or the Peshawar control room
With no ticket number, the online form is no use. The traffic police list 1915 as their helpline for traffic and licence questions, plus direct office numbers. Calling first saves a wasted trip to the wrong office.
These are the numbers on the Peshawar Traffic Police contact page, read on 24 October 2026:
- Helpline: 1915
- Control Room Peshawar: 091-9211475
- Chief Traffic Officer: 091-9225361
- DIG Traffic: 091-9225356
- Driving licence matters: 091-9225365 and 091-9225366
Have your CNIC, vehicle number and the rough date and place of the stop ready when you call. That is what any office will ask for when the slip is gone.
The main KP traffic fines run from Rs 200 to Rs 10,000
The site's fine schedule lists 74 moving violations and 11 parking violations, with separate amounts for motorcycles, cars, rickshaws, light and heavy vehicles. Riding without a helmet costs Rs 1,000, and juvenile driving up to Rs 10,000.
One caution: the page heads the table "Proposed traffic violation fines". It is the schedule the traffic police publish, but the heading does not say when, or whether, it was notified. Use it as a guide to what your slip should say.
| Offence | Motorcycle | Car or jeep | Heavy vehicle or PSV |
|---|---|---|---|
| No helmet | Rs 1,000 | Not listed | Not listed |
| Signal violation | Rs 500 | Rs 1,000 | Rs 1,500 |
| Wrong side of the road | Rs 1,000 | Rs 2,000 | Rs 4,000 |
| Mobile phone while driving | Rs 1,000 | Rs 2,000 | Rs 5,000 |
| Driving without a licence | Rs 1,000 | Rs 2,000 | Rs 5,000 |
All 85 rows, including parking, are in the KP traffic fines list. Compare the offence code on your slip with that table if the amount looks wrong.

Other provinces use different portals and identifiers
A challan only shows on the system of the place that issued it. A Peshawar ticket will not appear on the Punjab or Sindh portals, and a motorway ticket sits with the Motorway Police. Use the portal of the place where you were stopped.
- Lahore and the rest of Punjab: the Punjab e-challan check by CNIC or plate, which finds tickets you never saw.
- Karachi and Sindh: the Karachi e-challan check, which takes a ticket, CNIC, licence or plate number.
- Islamabad: the Islamabad Traffic Police e-challan route.
- Motorways: the Motorway Police challan check.
- Quetta: no web check that we could find, but the Balochistan traffic police app lists violation history, covered in Balochistan driving licence verification.
Never pay a challan through a link that arrives by SMS or WhatsApp. Fake challan messages keep circulating, and the fake e-challan SMS scam shows what they look like. The real KP page asks only for a ticket number and never for a card number or a one-time code.
Common questions
Can I check a KP e-challan by CNIC?
No. The KP Traffic Challan Verification page has one field, the challan number. For a lost slip, call 1915 or the Peshawar traffic control room on 091-9211475.
Can I check a Peshawar challan by vehicle number?
No. There is no number plate search on the KP page. Punjab and Sindh offer plate searches, but they show only their own tickets.
What does "No data availale" mean?
It means the system found nothing for the number typed. That was the reply to our made-up test number. Retype the ticket number carefully before deciding anything else.
Does the page cover challans from Mardan, Abbottabad or Swat?
We could not confirm that. The page is titled for KP and the footer says Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Traffic Police, but it sits on the Peshawar Traffic Police site. Call 1915 if your ticket came from another district.
How do I pay a KP traffic challan?
The verification page does not explain payment, and we found no online payment link on it. Follow the payment instructions printed on your slip, or ask the helpline.
Why does the site show a security check first?
The Peshawar Traffic Police site uses Cloudflare protection. It opens after a few seconds in a normal browser. Wait rather than refreshing.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the KP Traffic Challan Verification page, the traffic fine codes page and the contact page on ptpkp.gov.pk on 24 October 2026, in a Chrome window after the site's security check. We submitted one made-up ticket number to see how the form responds. We also confirmed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police homepage links to the same page. We hold no KP challan, so we have not seen what a real result shows, and we could not confirm the payment method, the date the fine schedule took effect, or which districts the system covers.
