KPPSC Does Not Refund Your Application Fee if You Miss the Date: Apply Early in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
KPPSC says it will not refund the application fee of candidates who could not apply in time. See why, what the notice says and how to avoid paying for nothing.

Short answer: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has a notice on its website that it will not change its rule on application fees. A candidate who could not apply in time is not refunded, because the fee is sent straight to the provincial treasury. Apply well before the last date, and pay only when you can finish the whole form.
On 12 October 2026 the KPPSC advertisement page showed "No active advertisement!". So no KPPSC fee is due today. The rule matters for the next round, and it is worth knowing before that day.
We read the notice, an image on the Commission's site, on 12 October 2026. It carries no printed date, and the file name points to 2025. It is still listed under the Commission's recruitment highlights.
KPPSC will not refund the fee if you miss the date
The notice says the Commission discussed the refund of the application form fee for candidates "who could not apply in time" in its 18th meeting. It decided unanimously that "the existing procedure may continue". It then asks candidates "to apply in time instead of waiting for last date of submission".
In plain words, if you pay and then fail to submit before the closing date, the money is not returned.
| Point | What the notice says |
|---|---|
| Decision | Existing procedure continues, no refund route added |
| Who is covered | Candidates who could not apply in time |
| Why | The fee goes from National Bank of Pakistan directly to the provincial government exchequer |
| Refund system | Called exhaustive, complicated, cumbersome and more expensive for candidates |
| What KPPSC asks | Apply in time, not on the last day |

The fee goes straight to the provincial treasury
The Commission's stated reason is simple. The fee you deposit is moved from the bank directly into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's account. KPPSC does not hold it. Because of that, the Commission says a refund process would be long and costly for candidates.
This is the Commission's own explanation. We have not found a legal source for it, and we do not claim one. The notice is the only document we read.
No KPPSC advertisement was open on 12 October 2026
The advertisement page said there was no active advertisement. That means no application is open and no fee is due.
Be careful with anything that says otherwise. If a message, a page or a social media post tells you to pay a fee for a KPPSC job now, check kppsc.gov.pk before you send money. The Commission shows live posts on its Advertisement page, and only there.
The steps and the fee for a live advertisement are in the guide to applying for KPPSC jobs online. The amount is printed in each advertisement, so read it there and not from an old page.
How to avoid paying for nothing
The risk is not the fee itself. It is paying early, then finding that you lack a paper, or that the portal is slow on the last day. Go step by step.
- Read the whole advertisement and the post conditions before you pay.
- Check that you meet the age limit and the qualification on the closing date.
- Collect your CNIC, certificates, domicile and photograph first.
- Pay the fee and finish the form the same day.
- Save the receipt and the final submission page, and apply at least a few days before the last date.

Keep your own account and your own receipt. If you wait for the last day and the portal is slow, the notice gives you no way to get the fee back.
What the notice does and does not cover
The notice is about candidates who could not apply in time. It does not discuss a candidate who applied and was found ineligible, and it does not name a fee amount. It also does not say whether a candidate may transfer a fee to a later advertisement. If you are in any of those cases, write to the Commission and keep its reply.
The Commission lists its phone numbers on its website, and its address is 2 Fort Road, Peshawar Cantonment. Use only the contacts shown on kppsc.gov.pk, and do not pay anyone who offers to get a fee back for you.
How another commission treats a post that is withdrawn
Rules differ between commissions. In Punjab, the Public Service Commission has a rule for a post that it withdraws, which lets the fee count toward your next application within one year. That is a separate case from a candidate who is late. See the explanation of how PPSC adjusts the fee of a withdrawn post.
The KPPSC notice we read does not say what happens if KPPSC itself withdraws a post. Check the advertisement or write to the Commission if that happens.

It says the fee goes from National Bank of Pakistan straight to the provincial government exchequer, and a refund system would be complicated and costly.
Is a KPPSC job open right now?
On 12 October 2026 the Commission's Advertisement page showed no active advertisement.
How much is the KPPSC application fee?

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Checked on 12 October 2026 on the KPPSC Advertisement page and the Commission's fee notice listed there. The notice has no printed date, so confirm any fee rule in the live advertisement before you pay.
