Malaysia eVisa for Pakistanis: RM125 Online, Decision in 2 to 7 Working Days
Pakistanis apply for Malaysia's eVISA online: RM20 visa fee plus RM105 processing, decided in 2 to 7 working days. Documents, MDAC arrival card and refund rule.
Pakistanis need a visa for Malaysia, and the tourist route is the eVISA at malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my. It costs RM125 before a small card charge: a RM20 visa fee plus a RM105 processing charge. A decision comes by email in 2 to 7 working days. eNTRI is not open to Pakistanis.
Before you land, you also register the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card, MDAC, within 3 days before arrival. It is a separate step from the visa, and every foreign visitor needs it.
We read the Immigration Department of Malaysia's visa requirement and visa fee pages, and the eVISA portal's notices, About page, FAQ and terms and conditions, on 29 September 2026. We also checked the portal's own country lists, which name Pakistan as a nationality that needs a visa and may apply online. We did not pay for an application.
Pakistanis apply for the Malaysia eVISA, not eNTRI
Pakistan is one of 31 nationalities that must hold a visa to visit Malaysia. The online route for a tourist or family visit is the eVISA single entry visa. eNTRI, the older quick registration, is listed by the Immigration Department only for Indian and Chinese nationals.
The Immigration Department's "Visa requirement by country" page puts Pakistan on the list of countries that must get a visa. The eVISA terms say an eVISA single entry visa is compulsory for these 31 countries for social visits: tourism, visiting family or friends, or a short event.
So if an agent offers you "eNTRI for Pakistan", walk away. The Immigration Department's eNTRI pages cover Indian and Chinese nationals only, and nothing on the eVISA portal offers it to Pakistanis.
You must apply from outside Malaysia. The FAQ says an individual cannot apply for an eVISA from inside the country.
The eVISA costs RM125 plus a card charge, and nothing is refunded
For a Pakistani passport the visa fee is RM20, set by Malaysia's Fees (Passport and Visas) Order. The eVISA adds a RM105 processing charge and a convenience charge of 0.8% for card payments. All payments are non-refundable, even if the visa is refused.

At 0.8%, the card charge on RM125 is about RM1. So plan for roughly RM126 in total. The portal takes credit cards and a few e-wallets such as Alipay. Many Pakistani cards block foreign online payments until you switch that on, and some virtual international payment cards are an easier way to pay.
That makes the eVISA dearer than the $29 Azerbaijan e-visa for Pakistanis, but far cheaper than a Schengen visa such as a Spain visa from Pakistan.
Documents to upload for a Malaysia tourist eVISA
You upload a studio photo, your passport data page with more than 6 months left, a return ticket, proof of paid accommodation, and a bank statement for the last 3 months. Children under 18 must also upload a birth certificate.
- Photo: a studio passport photo on a white background, no border, head centred. A notice on the portal says automatic photo checks started on 1 July 2026 for visa-with-reference files, and allow white or blue backgrounds there.
- Passport: the biodata page, valid for more than 6 months from your travel date.
- Return ticket: a confirmed booking back to Pakistan.
- Accommodation: proof of paid hotel booking, or a residential address for the whole stay.
- Money: the FAQ asks social visitors to show funds by cash, card or e-money, backed by bank statements for the last 3 months.
- Minors: a birth certificate is compulsory for applicants under 18.
Staying with a friend or relative? The FAQ asks for a simple cover letter to the Immigration Officer with your details, their address, and your host's name and ID details. For a child's application, sort out the child's passport well before the trip.
If your passport has less than about eight months left, get a passport renewal first.
How to apply for the Malaysia eVISA from Pakistan
Register on malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my, fill in the social visit form, upload your documents, pay online and wait for the email. Apply at least 14 days before travel, because processing takes 2 to 7 working days and does not count weekends or holidays.
- Open malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my and click "I'm New" to register with your email.
- Start a new application, choose Pakistan and the social visit purpose.
- Enter your details exactly as they appear in your passport.
- Upload the photo, passport page, ticket, hotel proof and bank statement.
- Pay the RM125 plus the card charge within 7 working days.
- Wait for the approval email, then download and print the eVISA on A4.
That 7-day payment rule is new. A portal notice says that from 1 October 2026, any application left at "New Application" or "Pending Payment" for more than 7 working days expires and disappears from your list.
The officer may ask for more documents or call you for an interview, online or in person. The 2 to 7 day clock restarts once you upload what was asked. If you miss a document request or interview confirmation by more than 5 days, the application is rejected automatically.
Validity, stay and multiple entry for Pakistanis
A single entry eVISA must be used within 6 months of issue, for one trip. The FAQ says the stay allowed depends on your nationality and is printed on the eVISA note. Since 1 September 2026, multiple entry eVISAs are only for business, medical, cruise and wedding trips.
The official pages we read do not state the number of days for a Pakistani single entry visa. Reports put it at up to 30 days, the same as each multiple entry visit. Read your own eVISA note, and leave on or before the date it shows. Overstaying can bring fines and a ban on later visits.
The eVISA is for visits only. The terms bar unauthorised work, study and working as foreign media. Jobs go through a separate visa with reference, and the Protector of Emigrants process applies on the Pakistani side.
Register the MDAC arrival card before you land
Every foreign visitor must file the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main within 3 days before arrival. At the counter you show the MDAC registration and your passport, along with the printed eVISA, ticket and hotel proof.
The Immigration Department's infographic sets out two steps. Before arriving, complete and submit the MDAC within 3 days. On arrival, show it and verify your passport at the immigration counter. The official MDAC page and infographic mention no fee, so a site asking you to pay for MDAC is not the Immigration Department.
What to carry to the counter, from the eVISA terms:
- Your passport, valid for at least 6 months.
- The eVISA printout or digital eVISA note.
- Your boarding pass and confirmed return ticket.
- Proof of paid accommodation and of your funds.
An approved eVISA does not guarantee entry. The officer at the checkpoint decides.
