Meezan Aamdan Certificate and COII profit rates for October 2026

COII stands for Certificate of Islamic Investment. The COII products need at least Rs 50,000, the sheet says. Rates are per year and are declared monthly, so what you earn on a certificate can move each month even though the term is fixed.

Aamdan Certificate rates jumped from about 7% to 9% in May

Meezan's certificate rates rose sharply in May 2026. The standard Aamdan Certificate went from 6.96% in April to 9.09% in May, and the senior version from 7.97% to 10.00%. Since then they have stayed close to 9% and 10%, reaching 9.18% and 10.12% in September and October.

The senior 7 year Aamdan Certificate started the year a little higher, at 8.36% in January, and has matched the 5.5 year senior rate since May. The sheet does not say why rates moved in May, so we do not guess.

Meezan Aamdan Certificate profit rate by month in 2026

Rs 10 lakh in an Aamdan Certificate gives about Rs 7,650 a month

At 9.18% a year, Rs 1,000,000 gives about Rs 7,650 a month before tax. At the senior rate of 10.12%, it is about Rs 8,433. After 15% withholding tax for a filer, those become about Rs 6,503 and Rs 7,168.

Rs 1,000,000Rs 7,650Rs 8,433
Rs 2,500,000Rs 19,125Rs 21,083

These are our own sums before tax, rounded to the rupee. The real amount depends on the rate declared each month. National Savings pays more on its monthly schemes, 12.96% on Behbood and 12.12% on Regular Income, on its rates from 21 October 2026, and its Sarwa Islamic Term Account pays 11.84% to 12.12% if you want an Islamic option. The comparison of what Rs 1 lakh to Rs 75 lakh pays a month is in National Savings monthly profit.

COII 2, 3 and 5 years are closed to new money

Meezan's sheet says the COII 2, 3 and 5 year certificates are discontinued, for both fresh bookings and roll overs. The senior 1 year COII with profit at maturity is temporarily discontinued too. Existing holders still receive the declared rate, 7.12% for October.

For new money, that leaves the 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year and 1.5 year COII, plus the Aamdan Certificate. If you hold a 3 or 5 year COII booked before it closed, check its maturity date. It cannot be rolled over into the same product, so you will need to pick a new one.

Meezan's ordinary savings are set out in Meezan saving account profit rates. The reason Islamic rates are declared after each month, rather than fixed in advance, is explained in the Islamic bank pool rule.

How to check a Meezan certificate rate

Meezan's historical profit rate sheet lists every certificate by name and tenor, with a column for each month. Find your certificate, read the month and compare it with the profit credited. Ask the branch for its own calculation if the two do not match.

  1. Open meezanbank.com, go to Historical Profit Rates and download the 2026 sheet.
  2. Turn to the certificates page and find your product, for example COII 1 Year or Meezan Aamdan Certificate.
  3. Check the payout type, monthly or at maturity, and whether you hold the senior version.
  4. Read the rate for the month you want.
  5. Compare the profit credited in the Meezan app or on your certificate statement.
  6. If it does not match, call Meezan on 111-331-331 or ask your branch in writing.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Meezan Bank's historical profit rates page, its 2026 historical sheet with rates to October 2026, and the single month sheet for September 2026, on 2 November 2026. The monthly income figures are our own arithmetic before tax. We did not read Meezan's terms on early encashment of certificates, so ask the branch before you break one.
