Meezan Bank's Saving Account paid individuals 6.79% a year for October 2026, on balances up to Rs 10 million, according to the bank's own historical profit rate sheet. It paid 6.63% for September and 6.74% for August. The rate changes every month because Meezan declares it after the month ends, from what its deposit pool earned.
That makes "the Meezan profit rate" a moving number. Below is every month of 2026 so far, the rates for Meezan's other savings, wallet and foreign currency accounts, what Rs 10 lakh actually earned, and how to check the figure on your own statement.

Rs 10 lakh in Meezan earned about Rs 5,658 for October
At 6.79% a year, Rs 1,000,000 earns about Rs 5,658 a month before tax. A conventional bank paying the new 10.5% minimum gives about Rs 8,750 on the same balance. The difference is about Rs 3,092 a month, before tax on both.
These are our own sums on the declared rates, rounded to the rupee. After 15% withholding tax for a filer, the Meezan figure is about Rs 4,810. Non-filers pay a higher rate. Meezan's term certificates pay more than its savings account, between 7.12% and 10.12% depending on the product and tenor, and those rates are set out in Meezan Aamdan and COII certificate rates.
Conventional banks raised their savings floor to 10.5% from 1 November, and the first sheets are listed in the November savings rate rise. That floor does not apply to Meezan.
Meezan pays less because Islamic banks follow a pool rule
Islamic banks in Pakistan do not pay the State Bank's fixed minimum for conventional savings. They share what their deposit pool earned, under a State Bank rule that sets a floor at 75% of the pool's gross yield. So Meezan's rate moves every month, and in 2026 it has stayed between 6.33% and 7.04%.
The full rule, and the reasons the rate sits where it does, are set out in the Islamic bank 75% pool rule. For many Meezan customers, the trade is a Shariah compliant account against a lower monthly profit than a conventional bank pays today. That is a choice only you can make, and it is worth making with the actual numbers in front of you.
If you want a Shariah compliant return closer to 10% or more, National Savings' Sarwa Islamic accounts pay 11.84% to 12.12%, on its rates from 21 October 2026.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read Meezan Bank's historical profit rates page and its 2026 historical sheet, which ran to October 2026, and the single month sheet for "the month ended September 30, 2026", updated 2 October 2026, on 2 November 2026. Some rows on the historical sheet print across two pages and are hard to read, so for accounts other than the main Saving Account, Senior Citizen and Labbaik we used the September sheet. The monthly profit examples are our own arithmetic.
