NAVTTC Certificate Verification by CNIC: NSIS Check, Merit List and Status Words Explained
Verify a NAVTTC certificate by CNIC on NSIS, search the merit list by CNIC or institute, and read what Shortlisted, Waiting or Dropped means for your seat.

You verify a NAVTTC certificate on the NSIS portal at nsis.navttc.gov.pk/verify-certificate. Type the trainee's 13-digit CNIC without dashes and search. The same portal has a public merit list at nsis.navttc.gov.pk/merit-list, searchable by CNIC or institute name.
NSIS is the National Skills Information System, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission's own portal. NAVTTC says it has crossed 2 million verified skill certificates, so employers and overseas recruiters check them often. Below is each check, what the results mean, and what to do when your record does not appear. We read NAVTTC's pages and the portal on 24 October 2026.
NSIS runs three checks: certificate, merit list and your own account
NSIS has a public certificate check by CNIC, a public merit list search, and a signed-in candidate account. The account shows your profile, your programmes, any trade change and a Certificate page. Employers use the first; trainees use all three.
| What you want to know | Where on NSIS | What you type | Sign-in needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Is this certificate real? | nsis.navttc.gov.pk/verify-certificate | 13-digit CNIC, no dashes | No |
| Did I get a training seat? | nsis.navttc.gov.pk/merit-list | CNIC or institute name | No |
| Where is my application? | Candidate account on NSIS | Your NSIS login | Yes |
| Can I download my certificate? | Certificate page in the account | Your NSIS login | Yes |

How to verify a NAVTTC certificate by CNIC
Open the verify page, type the CNIC as 13 digits with no dashes, and press the search button or Enter. The field accepts only digits and exactly 13 of them, so a dash or a missing digit stops the search before it starts.
- Open nsis.navttc.gov.pk/verify-certificate on a phone or computer.
- Type the trainee's CNIC as 13 digits, in the pattern 1234512345671.
- Press Enter or tap the search button.
- Read the table that loads under the box.
- Match the name, trade and institute against the paper certificate.
We could not run a real CNIC, so we cannot show the result table. The page's own code shows it returns a table of records for that CNIC. Check that every line on the paper matches it, not just the name.
The merit list shows your institute, trade and marks
The public merit list search takes a CNIC or an institute name. Each row shows the region, district, institute, trade, father's name, marks and your preference number. In the portal's code its heading reads "PMYSDP Batch 1 Merit List", so check which batch it covers.
PMYSDP is the Prime Minister's Youth Skills Development Programme, the free training scheme that feeds most of these lists. NAVTTC's own notices show Batch III assessments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in May 2026, so newer batches exist. If the merit list page still shows an older batch, your institute is the faster source for a current seat.

Your NSIS status word tells you what happens next
NSIS records candidates with status words such as Pending, Shortlisted, Pending Interview, Waiting, Approved, Rejected, Reported, Dropped and Completed. We read these in the portal's own code. Shortlisted and Approved are good news; Waiting means a seat may still open.
| Status word | What it most likely means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Your form is in, not yet reviewed | Wait and keep your phone on |
| Shortlisted | You passed the first screen | Prepare for the test or interview |
| Pending Interview | An interview is due | Call the institute for the date |
| Waiting | On the waiting list | Ask the institute about vacant seats |
| Reported or Dropped | You joined, or left the class | Ask the institute if Dropped is a mistake |
The meanings in the middle column are our reading of the words, not NAVTTC's definitions. The portal does not publish a glossary.
Training ends in an assessment, then a certificate
NAVTTC lists seven steps: check eligibility, choose a programme, apply online, sit the NTS aptitude test, train for 3 to 6 months, pass a competency assessment, and receive an NVQF certificate. A certificate appears on NSIS only after the assessment is passed.
Eligibility on NAVTTC's student page is age 18 to 35 with Matric or above. Courses are free. If you are still picking one, the full list to choose a free NAVTTC course shows the trades and their length. Your certificate also carries a level, and the eight NVQF levels explain what an employer reads from it.

When your record is missing, call the institute first
If the verify page shows nothing, first check the 13 digits. Then ask your training institute whether your assessment result was uploaded. Institutes enter attendance and results into NSIS, so a missing record is usually an upload delay, not a lost certificate.
- Wrong CNIC: a B-Form number or a parent's CNIC will not match.
- Assessment not passed yet: no certificate exists until you pass.
- Older certificate: very old paper certificates may predate NSIS. Ask the issuing body.
- Still missing: call NAVTTC's helpline, 0800-88866, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.
Skills earned without a class can also be certified. The route is recognition of prior learning, which ends in the same kind of NVQF certificate.
A certificate check costs nothing and needs no agent
Verifying a NAVTTC certificate is free and open to anyone with the CNIC. Nobody needs to pay an agent to "confirm" a certificate. If a recruiter asks for money to verify your skill papers, check the record yourself on NSIS first.
Use only addresses that end in navttc.gov.pk. Workers going to the Gulf often need a separate skills check too, and the PakSoftSkills certificate for protector registration is a different paper from the NAVTTC one.
Common questions
Can I verify a NAVTTC certificate by certificate number?
The public verify page we read asks only for a 13-digit CNIC without dashes. We found no certificate number field on it.
Is the NAVTTC merit list for Batch 3 out?
The merit list page in the portal's code is headed "PMYSDP Batch 1 Merit List". We did not find a Batch 3 list on NAVTTC's notices page on 24 October 2026. Ask your institute.
How do I download my NAVTTC certificate?
Sign in to your NSIS candidate account and open the Certificate page. It appears in the account menu once your assessment is done.
What is the NAVTTC helpline number?
NAVTTC lists 0800-88866, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
Who can join NAVTTC free courses?
NAVTTC's student page says ages 18 to 35 with Matric or above. You apply on the NSIS portal and sit an NTS aptitude test.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read NAVTTC's student programmes page, notices and notifications on 24 October 2026, and the NSIS portal and its published code the same day. We did not search a real CNIC, so we could not see a result table, and the status meanings are our reading. The Batch 1 heading is as it appears in the merit list code.
