NAVTTC's student page lists 194 free courses. We counted them: 139 are NVQF Level 3 and run 6 months, 33 are Level 2 and run 3 months, 12 are Level 4 and run 12 months, 6 are Level 4 and run 6 months, and 4 are Level 3 and run 3 months. If you want the fastest start, look at the 33 three-month courses. If you want a supervisor role, look at the 12-month ones.

NAVTTC says its PMYSDP and Hunarmand Pakistan training is 100 per cent free. A catalogue of 194 names is hard to read, though. We went through the student page on 14 October 2026 and sorted the list by level and length, so you can pick a course before an intake opens.

Most courses are Level 3 and last 6 months

Of the 194 listed courses, 139 are NVQF Level 3 and 6 months long. That is 72 per cent of the list. NVQF is NAVTTC's National Vocational Qualifications Framework, a ladder of skill levels. NAVTTC says its courses are NVQF-certified and competency-based.

Level and lengthCoursesExamples from the list
Level 2, 3 months33Forklift Operator, Plumber, Tailor (Basic), Patient Care Assistant
Level 3, 3 months4Solar PV Installation, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Beautician and Makeup
Level 3, 6 months139Electrician, Welder, HTV Driver, Cybersecurity, Accounting
Level 4, 6 months6Web Development, Mobile App Development, Professional Chef, Hotel Management
Level 4, 12 months12Site Supervisor, Medical Lab Technician, Warehouse Supervisor, Auto CAD

A higher level means more skill and usually a longer course. Level 4 courses carry supervisor or technician titles. The page labels each course with three stages: foundations, core skills, and practical and assessment.

NAVTTC free courses counted by NVQF level and length in Pakistan

The shortest courses are operator and assistant jobs

The 33 three-month Level 2 courses lead to entry roles. They include machine operators such as bulldozer, excavator, crane, forklift and road roller, and care roles such as patient care assistant, nursing aid and pharmacy assistant. Others are plumber, mason, security guard, barista and tailor.

Healthcare has the most of these, with six. Construction and drivers and operators have four each. If you need to earn within a few months, this group is the one to read first.

Short does not mean easy to get into. NAVTTC does not say here how many seats each course has. Its programme page says selection includes an aptitude test run by NTS, so plan for that step.

Level 4 courses take a year but lead to supervisor roles

Twelve courses run 12 months at Level 4. They are Auto CAD, Industrial Automation, Inventory Manager, Lab Technician, Medical Lab Technician, Retail Store Manager, Security Supervisor, Site Supervisor, Skin Care Specialist, Social Media Manager, Sound Engineer and Warehouse Supervisor.

These suit people who already have some experience, or who want a step up. Six more Level 4 courses run 6 months: Civil Surveyor, CNC Machine Operator, Hotel Management, Mobile App Development, Professional Chef and Web Development.

The largest sector groups among NAVTTC's 194 free courses in Pakistan

Construction, IT, hospitality, manufacturing and healthcare lead the list

The list has 23 sector groups. Construction has 13 courses. Information Technology, Hospitality and Tourism, Manufacturing and Engineering, and Healthcare and Paramedics have 12 each. Electrical, automotive, agriculture and textile groups have about 10 each.

  • Construction (13): mason, plumber, steel fixer, scaffolding, site supervisor.
  • Information Technology (12): web development, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing.
  • Hospitality and Tourism (12): chef, front desk, housekeeping, tour guide.
  • Healthcare and Paramedics (12): lab technician, nursing aid, emergency medical tech.
  • Languages (7): Arabic, Chinese, English, German, Japanese, Korean, Communication Skills.

The sector labels are NAVTTC's own, and a few overlap, such as "Textile and Fashion" and "Textile and Manufacturing". We counted them as listed.

Pick a course in five steps

Choose by the job you want and the time you have. Check the level, the length and the sector, then register interest and apply on NAVTTC's NSIS portal when a batch opens. The page says to be 18 to 35 with Matric for its youth programmes.

  1. Decide the job you want in the next year, and whether you can train full-time.
  2. Find the matching course in the catalogue and note its level and length.
  3. Press "Show Interest" on that course so NAVTTC has your details.
  4. Register on the NSIS portal and keep your CNIC and Matric papers ready.
  5. Watch for a batch in your city and call 0800-88866 if you hear nothing.

Already working in a trade? You may not need a class. The steps to get a NAVTTC skill certificate without classes let you test the skills you have. If you plan to work in Saudi Arabia, the Takamol skill test is a separate step.

Five steps to choose and apply for a free NAVTTC course in Pakistan

A catalogue entry is not an open class

Each course on the page shows "View Details" and "Show Interest", not an "Apply" button. NAVTTC's student page says applications run through its NSIS portal. We cannot see the portal without an account, so we cannot say which of the 194 courses have seats today.

Never pay for a seat. NAVTTC says training is free, and its student FAQ says job help is support, not a guarantee. The signs of a paid-seat or fake job scam are in our note on fake online job offers in Pakistan.

Common questions about free NAVTTC courses

How many free courses does NAVTTC list?

The student page lists 194 courses across 23 sector groups. We counted them on 14 October 2026. NAVTTC rounds this to "450+ certified trades" elsewhere on its site.

What is the shortest course?

The shortest are 3 months. There are 33 at Level 2 and 4 at Level 3, such as plumber, forklift operator, solar PV installation and graphic design.

Which courses take a year?

Twelve Level 4 courses run 12 months, including Site Supervisor, Medical Lab Technician, Warehouse Supervisor and Auto CAD.

Do I need Matric?

NAVTTC's youth programme strip says ages 18 to 35 with Matric or above. A batch may set its own rule, so read its notice.

Is every listed course open now?

No. The page lists courses and a "Show Interest" button. It does not say which have an open batch. Check the NSIS portal.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 14 October 2026. The course names, levels, lengths, sectors and FAQ come from NAVTTC's student page, which we counted ourselves. The "450+ trades" figure is on NAVTTC's programmes page. We could not see the NSIS portal, so we do not know which batches are open or how many seats exist. Check before you plan around any course.
