NICOP Renewal in Bahrain: Pakistan Embassy Manama NADRA Documents, Witnesses and Timings
Renew a NICOP in Bahrain at the Pakistan Embassy in Manama. See the 6 renewal papers, the two-witness rule, photo rules, newborn papers and embassy timings.

To renew a NICOP in Bahrain, go in person to the NADRA office at the Pakistan Embassy in Manama's Diplomatic Area with your original card, passport, your parents' and spouse's cards, and card copies of two witnesses with their mobile numbers. Bring your full Bahrain address as well. The embassy's own lists differ slightly on photos, so the safe set to carry is below.
We read the NADRA page of the Embassy of Pakistan in Bahrain, its downloadable NADRA checklist and its contact page on 31 October 2026. The embassy says its NADRA office is authorised to issue the Smart National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis, the SNICOP.
A NICOP renewal in Bahrain needs six things and your presence
The embassy's checklist lists six items for a renewal: your original card and passport with copies, your parents' cards, your spouse's card and marriage certificate if married, card copies of two witnesses with mobile numbers, and your complete Bahrain address. You must attend yourself.
| Bring for a renewal | Original | Photocopy |
|---|---|---|
| Your CNIC or NICOP | Yes | Yes |
| Your passport | Yes | Yes |
| Parents' ID cards | Yes | Yes |
| Spouse's ID card and marriage certificate, if married | Yes | Yes |
| Two witnesses' ID cards, with mobile numbers | Not needed | Yes |
| Complete address in Bahrain | Written down | |
The embassy wants clear copies on A4 paper for every document, next to the originals. Make two sets before you go. A missing copy can mean a second trip.

Witnesses must not be blood relatives, and they sign at the embassy
The NADRA page asks for card copies and mobile numbers of two verifiers who are not blood relatives. The witnesses themselves only need to attend for an affidavit or a name change. The applicant and witnesses sign or thumb in front of embassy officials.
So for a plain renewal, a colleague's card copy and phone number are enough, going by the embassy's list. For a name change, bring the two people with you. Pick witnesses who hold valid Pakistani cards and will answer a call from NADRA.
Your parents' records matter more than people think. The embassy warns that a newborn's NICOP will not be processed until both parents' marital status is updated on their CNIC and NICOP. If a parent is a Bahraini national, that parent must produce a Pakistan Origin Card.
Bring two white background photos, even though the checklist says one
The NADRA page asks for two recent photographs with a white background, a straight face and no glasses, not older than 6 months. The downloadable checklist asks for one photo for a first card. Carry two to be safe.
The same page lists the passport rule loosely: an original valid Pakistani or Bahraini passport, or a colour copy. It also asks for your original B-Form or old CNIC in Urdu and your NICOP in English where you have them.
- Print clear A4 copies of every document, front and back.
- Get two recent photos on white, straight face, no glasses.
- Collect your parents' and spouse's card copies and the marriage certificate.
- Ask two Pakistani friends, not blood relatives, for card copies and mobile numbers.
- Write down your full Bahrain address.
- Go to the embassy in person and sign in front of the officials.

A newborn or first card needs a birth certificate and parents' cards
For a newborn or a first-time card, the checklist asks for the original birth certificate with a copy, the parents' card copies, one recent white background photo, two witnesses' card copies with mobile numbers and your Bahrain address. A child under 15 need not attend.
If the child was born in Bahrain, the NADRA page lists an S-1 form, the birth registration form from a Pakistani mission. If the child holds another nationality, bring that passport with a copy. Unmarried adults and minors also need their parents' card copies.
The six month rule for registering a birth abroad is set out in registering a child born abroad with a Pakistani mission. If you are a dual national, the embassy page asks for proof of the second nationality as well.
A Bahraini citizen of Pakistani origin applies for a POC instead
The embassy lists a Pakistan Origin Card for people who hold a Bahraini passport. Bring two photos, the Bahraini passport, an old CNIC or NICOP copy, a birth certificate, parents' and spouse's documents, an affidavit with witnesses and a blood relative's card copy.
The POC lets a foreign national of Pakistani origin visit and stay without a visa. Its dollar fee and eligibility are explained in applying for a Pakistan Origin Card.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 31 October 2026. The NICOP and POC document lists, witness rules and parents' marital status warning come from the Embassy of Pakistan Bahrain's NADRA page on mofa.gov.pk. The renewal and first-card checklists come from the NADRA document PDF linked on that page. The address, hours and phone numbers come from its contact page, and the consular counter hours from the NADRA page. All were read on 31 October 2026. The page and the PDF differ on the number of photos, and we say so above. We could not read NADRA's website, which refuses automated requests, and the embassy publishes no fee or delivery time.
