How to Register for NUST NET 2027: Series 1 Opens 4 October
NUST NET-2027 Series 1 registration runs 4 October to 14 November 2026 at ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk. Fee, eligibility, test pattern, merit formula, admit card.

Registration for NUST Entry Test 2027, Series 1, opens on 4 October 2026 and closes on 14 November 2026 at ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk. The test starts in Islamabad from 17 November 2026. NUST's fee page lists Rs 5,000 per test for Pakistani candidates.
NUST runs its entry test, called NET, in four series a year. You can sit more than one, and the system keeps your best score. So a weak Series 1 result does not hurt you if a later attempt is better.
We read NUST's admission portal and undergraduate pages on 3 October 2026. The NET-2027 dates are official, but NUST marks them "tentative". The fee, test pattern and merit formula come from NUST's standing pages, which applied to the 2026 intake. NUST has not posted 2027 versions of those.
NET-2027 registration dates for all four series
NUST's tentative NET-2027 schedule has four series. Series 1 registration runs from 4 October to 14 November 2026, with computer-based tests in Islamabad from 17 November. Series 2 is the first with Quetta and Karachi, and only Series 4 reaches Gilgit.
| Series | Online registration | Test dates and city |
|---|---|---|
| Series 1 | 4 October to 14 November 2026 | Islamabad, 17 November 2026 onwards |
| Series 2 | December 2026 to January 2027 | Islamabad, January to February 2027; Quetta and Karachi, March 2027 |
| Series 3 | February to March 2027 | Islamabad, April 2027 |
| Series 4 | April to May 2027 | Islamabad, June to July 2027; Quetta, Karachi and Gilgit, July 2027 |
| ACT/SAT basis | 4 May to 25 July 2027 | Scores must reach NUST by 25 July 2027 |

Each series needs its own online form and fee, as the note on NUST's Dates to Remember page says. Series 1 has no test in Karachi or Gilgit at all. Students there either travel to Islamabad or wait.
How to register for NUST NET 2027 step by step
You register online with an email address, fill the form, pay through 1Link or a credit card, and pick a test date. Computer-based candidates then get a roll number, session and login. Only a photo is uploaded; no documents are needed at this stage.
- Open ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk and register with a valid email. NUST sends a password for that login.
- Fill the form and upload a passport-size photo no more than one month old, on a plain background.
- Log in again and print the fee invoice from the My Account page.
- Pay with the 17-digit 1Bill number through any bank app, ATM, Easypaisa or JazzCash. A 1Link payment is verified at once.
- Choose your test date and session, and note your roll number and test centre.

You need a CNIC, Form B or NICOP number. One costly trap: NUST puts the name from your matric certificate, or IBCC O level equivalence, on every university record. If your CNIC spells it differently, fix that early.
NUST entry test fee and who pays nothing
NUST's fee page lists Rs 5,000 or USD 40 per test for Pakistani and dual nationality candidates, and Rs 10,000 or USD 80 for foreign nationals. The fee is not refunded or moved to another series. HSSC board position holders can have it waived.
| Candidate | Application processing fee |
|---|---|
| NET, Pakistani or dual national | Rs 5,000 or USD 40 per test |
| NET, foreign national | Rs 10,000 or USD 80 per test |
| ACT/SAT, national seat | Rs 5,000 or USD 40 |
| ACT/SAT, international seat | Rs 10,000 or USD 80 |
These figures applied in the 2026 cycle. NUST has not issued a separate 2027 fee notice, so check your invoice before paying. First, second and third position holders in any board's HSSC exam pay nothing; they email NUST with proof from the board.
Who can apply: marks, groups and IBCC equivalence
You need at least 60% in matric and in FSc, or the same in IBCC-equivalent marks. FSc students can apply on Part 1 marks. O and A level students apply on an IBCC O level equivalence and confirm later with A level equivalence.
- FSc or FA: Part 1 marks count for merit, but you need 60% in the full result when you join.
- O and A level: admission is confirmed only with an A level equivalence showing the right subjects and 60%.
- Pre-Medical for engineering: without additional maths, finish NUST's 8-week online maths course with 60% before 25 July 2027.
- ICS for engineering: eligible, with Chemistry as a remedial course in the first semester.
- LLB: also needs an HEC Law Admission Test score of at least 50%.
NUST says every candidate, FSc students included, must get documents attested by IBCC before handing them in at admission. Getting matric and inter certificates attested by IBCC takes time, so start early. There is no age limit, and gap year students are not penalised. BS Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and BS International Relations are new for Fall 2027.
NET test pattern, subjects and timings
NET has 200 multiple choice questions in three hours, each with four options, and no negative marking. The paper depends on your FSc group and programme. NET-Engineering, the most common paper, is 50% maths, 30% physics and 20% English.

- Engineering: for engineering and computing. Maths 50%, Physics 30%, English 20%.
- Applied Sciences: for Pre-Medical students in biotechnology, agriculture and similar. Biology 50%, Chemistry 30%, English 20%.
- Business and Social Sciences: for BBA, economics, LLB and others. Quantitative Maths 50%, English 50%.
- Architecture: Design Aptitude 50%, Maths 30%, English 20%.
Questions come from SSC and HSSC textbooks of all boards, and the English section follows the SAT pattern. Computer-based sessions run 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm. A free mock test sits under "Sample Test" on the portal. NUST says it runs no academy and sells no prep material.
NUST merit formula: NET 75%, matric 10%, FSc 15%
NUST merit is 75% NET score, 10% matric or O level, and 15% FSc Part 1, HSSC or A level. A level students still in final year get 25% from O level equivalence instead. Your best NET score across all series counts.

That 75% is why a second attempt matters. A ten-mark jump in NET moves your aggregate far more than FSc marks can. But only one attempt per discipline is allowed in each series, and the score is valid for Fall 2027 entry only.
ACT and SAT route instead of NET
NUST keeps separate seats for ACT and SAT scores. For 2027 the form opens on 4 May and scores must reach NUST by 25 July 2027. Engineering needs an ACT score of at least 25; business and social sciences accept SAT at 550 per subject.
NUST's code is 2915 for ACT and 2790 for SAT, and scores stay valid for two years. On national seats the score replaces NET's 75% weight; on international seats it counts for 100%. You can apply through both NET and ACT/SAT, then keep one seat.
How to download your NET admit card and result
Log in to your account on ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk to print the admit card. Bring it with an original photo ID such as your CNIC, Form B, passport or matric certificate. Computer-based results come within 24 hours.
For the paper test in Karachi and Gilgit, NUST emails you when the admit card is ready, showing your time and centre. Results there take 5 to 7 working days, and a re-check costs Rs 500 by bank draft within 5 days. Islamabad candidates sit in the NUST Exam Hall at H-12, entry through Gate 4. Miss your session and NUST normally gives no second chance.
If NUST is one of several options, compare it with NED University admissions and confirm your degree on the list of PEC accredited engineering programmes. Families worried about fees can also look at the HEC need-based scholarship.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 3 October 2026. The NET-2027 tentative schedule, test cities, separate form per series and the 2027 ACT/SAT window are read on NUST's Dates to Remember page and the ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk home page, which also shows session timings. The 4 October start, the Fall 2027 programmes, the maths course deadline and IBCC attestation are read on NUST's Updates on UG Admissions page. The fee, eligibility, registration steps, subject weights, merit formula and ACT/SAT codes are read on NUST's undergraduate pages, which carry no year and applied to the 2026 intake. The question count, negative marking, result times, re-check fee, venues and fee waiver are read in NUST's UG admissions FAQ. On 3 October the portal still showed the closed 2026 forms, so we could not see the 2027 form itself.
