OEC's job portal is accepting applications until 20 October 2026 for 102 jobs at a garment factory in Tajikistan: 100 sewers (sewing machine operators) and 2 mechanics for industrial sewing equipment. The application fee is Rs 500, both men and women can apply, and 336 people had already applied when we checked on 19 October. The salary is not published, which is the first thing to ask before you pay.

We opened the two job records on the Overseas Employment Corporation portal, jobs.oec.gov.pk, on 19 October 2026. OEC is the federal government's recruiting body, so this is a government-to-employer demand rather than a private promoter's advertisement. The demand letter is numbered 199 and the employer appears on the portal as Gulistoni Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The demand opened on 17 July 2026 and expires on 20 October 2026.

The sewer post takes 100 people aged 22 to 40 with one year of experience

The sewer job asks for secondary vocational education and at least one year of relevant experience. The description wants knowledge of preparatory and sewing operations, sewing techniques, industrial sewing machines, fabric types, and the ability to thread machines, replace bobbins, adjust stitch and thread tension, and fix minor machine faults. Good health and stamina are listed too.

PostVacanciesAgeGenderEducationExperienceFee
Sewer10022 to 40BothSecondary vocational education1 yearRs 500
Mechanic224 to 40BothHigher or secondary vocational education1 yearRs 500

The portal's education filter for the sewer post accepts everything from under matric to intermediate, so the "secondary vocational" wording is read loosely. English proficiency is listed, with basic Russian "an added advantage". Tajik and Russian are the working languages in Dushanbe, so that line is worth taking seriously.

OEC Tajikistan garment factory jobs: 100 sewer and 2 mechanic posts open until 20 October 2026

The two mechanic posts want machine repair skills and basic computer work

The mechanic post has only two vacancies and a minimum age of 24. It asks for higher or secondary vocational education relevant to the position and one year of experience with industrial sewing equipment and garment production machinery. Preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs are the core of the job.

Beyond the workshop, the employer wants someone who knows industrial and fire safety rules, can prepare technical documentation and reports, and is comfortable in MS Word and MS Excel. Practical skill with hand tools and measuring instruments is listed, as is the ability to work in a team and under pressure. The portal record for this post marks fee payment as a shortlisting condition, so pay before you expect to be considered.

Skills OEC lists for the two Tajikistan garment mechanic jobs

No salary is shown, so ask OEC for the contract before you pay

Both job cards show the salary as "N/A". The portal's salary filter runs in rupee bands from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 and above, and neither record is placed in a band. We could not find a contract, accommodation or ticket term anywhere on the two records. Nothing says whether food and housing are provided.

That is unusual for an OEC demand. The Saudi technician advertisement OEC posted on 9 October prints the salary, housing, transport and insurance in black and white. Before you pay the Rs 500, call the OEC helpdesk on 0311-0011-632 or email helpdesk@oec.gov.pk and ask for the wage, the contract length and who pays the air ticket. Keep the reply.

Tajikistan is a new destination for Pakistani workers. The Bureau of Emigration's monthly tables, which we used for the January to September 2026 emigration figures, are dominated by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman and Qatar, and Tajikistan does not appear as a regular line. There is no established community to ask, so the paperwork has to do the talking.

Apply on jobs.oec.gov.pk in five steps and keep the PSID receipt

Applications are online only. You need a job seeker account, scanned documents and a way to pay a PSID, the payment slip number the portal generates. Both posts shortlist automatically on education, experience and age, so the dates on your certificates have to match what you type.

  1. Register on jobs.oec.gov.pk with your CNIC, mobile number and email, then complete your profile.
  2. Upload your CNIC, passport, vocational certificate and an experience letter from a garment or stitching unit.
  3. Open the Tajikistan demand under OEC Jobs and choose Sewer or Mechanic.
  4. Generate the PSID, pay Rs 500 through a bank app, ATM or branch, and wait for the portal to mark it paid.
  5. Submit before 20 October 2026 and download the application confirmation.

The full OEC process, including what happens after shortlisting, is in our guide to applying for OEC jobs. Selected workers still need registration with the Protector of Emigrants before departure; the fee, the insurance and the briefing are explained in our page on emigrant protection before working abroad.

Five steps to apply for OEC Tajikistan garment jobs before 20 October 2026

336 applications were already in, and women can apply for both posts

OEC's demand summary on 19 October showed 336 applications against demand 199, with nobody yet shortlisted, interviewed or selected. For 102 vacancies that is about three applicants per seat, far lower than the competition on Gulf demands. Both posts are open to both genders, which is rare in overseas factory work routed through OEC.

Women applying for a job abroad still need the usual protector registration, and a garment unit that recruits women will be asked by the Bureau about accommodation. Ask OEC whether separate hostel arrangements are part of the offer. If any private "agent" contacts you about this demand, check them against the licence list first; our guide on how to check an overseas job agency shows where to look. An OEC demand has no agent.

Common questions

What is the last date to apply for the OEC Tajikistan jobs?

20 October 2026. Both job records on the OEC portal show the demand expiring on that date, and the demand summary carries the same expiry.

How much is the application fee?

Rs 500 per post, paid through a PSID generated on the portal. The mechanic post will not shortlist an unpaid application.

What is the salary for the sewer job in Tajikistan?

The portal does not say. Both records show the salary as not available. Ask OEC's helpdesk for the wage and contract terms in writing before you pay.

Can women apply?

Yes. Both the sewer and the mechanic posts are marked "Gender: Both" on the portal.

What experience do I need?

At least one year of relevant experience for either post. Sewers need industrial sewing machine skills; mechanics need experience maintaining industrial sewing and garment production machinery.

Who is the employer?

The portal lists the employer as Gulistoni Dushanbe in Tajikistan under demand letter 199. We could not find any further detail about the company on the OEC site.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 19 October 2026. The vacancies, age limits, gender, education, experience, skills, fee and expiry date come from the two job records on the OEC job portal, which we read on 19 October 2026. The employer name, demand number, opening date and the 336 application count come from the portal's demand summary read the same day. OEC's helpdesk contacts are from its website. We could not verify the salary, contract length, accommodation or ticket terms, because the portal does not publish them for this demand, and we could not find the employer in Bureau of Emigration tables.
