The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi charges AED 40 to attest a degree, power of attorney or affidavit, AED 20 for a nikah nama, birth certificate or school certificate, AED 5 for a pension form and AED 60 for a foreign document. Every Pakistani paper must carry a Foreign Office stamp from Pakistan before the embassy will touch it.

Most Pakistanis in the UAE meet this desk at least once, for a property power of attorney, a marriage in the Emirates or a parent's pension form. We read the attestation page of the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and its contact page on 1 November 2026. The fee list below is the embassy's own, in UAE dirhams.

Abu Dhabi embassy attestation fees run from AED 5 to AED 60

The embassy lists ten fees. Legal papers, degrees and driving licences cost AED 40. School certificates up to grade 10, marriage, birth, death and experience certificates cost AED 20. Pension forms cost AED 5 and foreign documents AED 60.

DocumentFee (AED)
Power of attorney, affidavit, signature attestation40

Marriage certificate20
Birth, death or experience certificate20
Driving licence40
Pension form or life certificate5
Copies of original documents (passport, NICOP)20

A small worked example: a degree and a nikah nama for a family visa come to AED 60 at the embassy, AED 40 plus AED 20. That is our arithmetic from the list. The page does not mention an urgent fee or a processing time.

Pakistani papers need the Foreign Office stamp first

The embassy attests only documents already attested by the department concerned in Pakistan and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar or Quetta. Papers issued by other countries need the UAE foreign ministry's stamp instead.

That order matters. A degree goes to HEC, then to the Foreign Office, then to Abu Dhabi. A board certificate goes to IBCC first. Since 12 October 2026 the Foreign Office stamp itself can be done online, with an e-Certificate by email, through the Foreign Office's new attestation portal.

Our view: get the Pakistani chain done before you fly back. Sending a family member to the Foreign Office later is possible, but blood relatives must prove the relation, and anyone else needs your authority letter attested by this embassy.

Power of attorney from the UAE needs you in person

To attest a power of attorney made in the UAE, the person giving it must appear at the embassy. Bring the original and one copy, two copies of your passport, Emirates ID and NICOP, three photographs, and two copies of the attorney's CNIC with their mobile number.

A power of attorney made in Pakistan is different. It must be complete and attested by the Foreign Office in Pakistan first. Then bring the original, one copy, and a copy of the attorney holder's passport or NICOP.

The embassy also points to NADRA's online power of attorney service at poa.nadra.gov.pk. That route avoids the trip, and the wider options are set out in making a power of attorney from abroad.

Marriage in the UAE needs three papers from home

For a marriage in the UAE, the embassy asks for a parents' affidavit saying they have no objection, an unmarried certificate from the union council, and a death certificate if a parent has died. All three need Foreign Office attestation in Pakistan first.

Bring the originals, one copy of each, and a copy of your passport. A nikah nama or marriage certificate from Pakistan follows the same rule. It needs the Foreign Office stamp, then the original and one copy, with copies of both spouses' passports or cards. The Pakistani side of that process is set out in nikah nama attestation at the Foreign Ministry.

The embassy's contact page gives +971 2 444 7800 by phone and +971 50 124 8934 on WhatsApp. Its email is parepabudhabi@pakistanembassyuae.org. Passport renewal at the same embassy has its own fee table, covered in the Pakistani passport fee in the UAE.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 1 November 2026. We read the attestation page and the contact page of the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi on mofa.gov.pk on 1 November 2026. The embassy's separate site, pakistanembassyuae.org, refused our request, so we could not read its own fee and document pages. The MOFA page gives no processing time, urgent fee, payment method or counter timings for attestation. The example total is our arithmetic. We did not visit the embassy.
