Pakistan's men's squash team play Korea in the Asian Games 2026 quarter-final on Wednesday 30 September, at 8:00 am Pakistan time. A win would put them in the semi-finals, where the official schedule has no bronze-medal match, so it would almost certainly mean a medal.

Pakistan reached the last eight without dropping a single match. They beat the Philippines 3-0 and Kuwait 3-0 on Monday 28 September to top their pool. We read every result and the draw on the official Asian Games 2026 results system on Tuesday afternoon.

The team is Noor Zaman, Muhammad Irfan, Asim Khan and Nasir Iqbal. Zaman and Irfan already won bronze in the men's singles on 27 September.

Pakistan play Korea at 8:00 am on Wednesday

The men's team quarter-final between Korea and Pakistan starts at 12 noon Japan time on 30 September 2026, which is 8:00 am in Pakistan. It is on Court 1, according to the official schedule, and it is one of four quarter-finals that day.

A squash team tie is three singles matches. The first team to win two of them wins the tie. In the pool stage, both of Pakistan's ties finished 3-0, so they have not yet lost a single match in the team event.

Pakistan won their pool without losing a match

Pakistan topped Pool B with two 3-0 wins on 28 September: over the Philippines at 8:00 am and over Kuwait at 1:30 pm Pakistan time. Kuwait then beat the Philippines 3-0 on 29 September to take second place.

Korea come through Pool A in second place. They lost 3-0 to India on 28 September, then beat China 3-0 on 29 September.

Korea lost to India without winning a match, and India are also the team whose Abhay Singh beat Muhammad Irfan in the singles semi-final. Pakistan have not played India in the team event. Squash ties can turn on one close game, so the pool results are a guide, not a forecast.

  • Pakistan: Noor Zaman, Muhammad Irfan, Asim Khan, Nasir Iqbal.
  • Korea: Ryu Jeongmin, Oh Seojin, Na Jooyoung, Lee Minwoo.

Those are the squads listed on the official quarter-final sheet. Each team names its order of play before the tie, so who plays whom is not known yet.

A quarter-final win should mean a medal

The official schedule lists a semi-final round and a final for the men's team event, but no bronze-medal match. The system also marks the semi-finals as medal matches. So both beaten semi-finalists are set to receive bronze, and a win on Wednesday should secure Pakistan at least a bronze.

That is our reading of the official schedule, and it matches how the singles event handed a bronze to both Pakistani semi-finalists. The singles bronzes are in Pakistan's two squash bronze medals.

If Pakistan win, the draw places them in the semi-final with the winner of Hong Kong, China and Qatar. The path to a medal would run like this:

  1. Quarter-final: Korea, Wednesday 30 September, 8:00 am PKT.
  2. Semi-final: Hong Kong, China or Qatar, Thursday 1 October, 8:30 am PKT.
  3. Final: Friday 2 October, 11:30 am PKT.

The other semi-final, on 1 October at 12:30 pm PKT, will be between the winners of India v Kuwait and Japan v Malaysia.

Pakistan's path from the squash team quarter-final to the final at the Asian Games 2026

The women's team play China for placing on Wednesday

Pakistan's women's squash team did not reach the quarter-finals. They now play China at 6:00 am PKT on Wednesday in a placing round, which decides positions but not medals.

In Pool B they beat Mongolia 3-0 but lost 3-0 to Hong Kong, China and 3-0 to Korea. In the placing round on Tuesday they lost 3-0 to Macao, China. The team is Sana Bahadar, Mahnoor Ali, Mehwish Ali and Sehrish Ali.

Tennis ended for Pakistan's men on Tuesday

Pakistan's men's tennis players went out in the second round on 29 September. Muhammad Shoaib lost the singles 6-4, 6-4 to M Rifqi Fitriadi of Indonesia. Aqeel Khan and Muhammad Shoaib lost the doubles 6-3, 6-2 to Ho Chenjui and Hsu Yu-hsiou of Chinese Taipei.

So squash, hockey and cricket are where Pakistan's next medal is most likely. The hockey team plays India in the semi-final, covered in the hockey semi-final against India, and Pakistan's four medals up to the weekend are in Pakistan's Asian Games medal count.
