Pakistan Beat Bangladesh by 6 Wickets to Reach Asian Games Cricket Final
Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the Asian Games cricket semi-final, chasing 112 in 11.3 overs. Top scorers, best bowlers and the final time in PKT.

Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the Asian Games 2026 men's cricket semi-final on Thursday 1 October. Bangladesh made 111 for 7 in a match cut to 13 overs a side. Pakistan reached 112 for 4 with nine balls to spare.
That puts Pakistan in the gold medal match on Saturday 3 October at 9:30 am PKT, so a medal is now certain. We followed the match on the official Asian Games 2026 results system in Nisshin, Japan, and read the full scorecard there at 8:30 am PKT, just after the last ball.
It was Pakistan's first game of these Games. Their quarter-final against Hong Kong, China was washed out, and this one nearly went the same way.
Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets
Pakistan chased 112 in 11.3 overs to beat Bangladesh by six wickets at Korogi Athletic Park. The official result reads "PAK won by 6 wickets". Bangladesh scored 111 for 7 in their 13 overs, and Pakistan finished on 112 for 4, at a run rate of 9.74.
| Team | Score | Overs | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangladesh | 111 for 7 | 13.0 | 19, including 15 wides |
| Pakistan | 112 for 4 | 11.3 | 4, including 2 wides |
| Result: Pakistan won by 6 wickets | |||
The official system still marks the result as "unofficial" while the scorers finish their checks. That is a normal step after every match, and Pakistan are already shown as qualified for the next round.

A wet start cut the semi-final to 13 overs
The Pakistan v Bangladesh semi-final was due at 5:00 am PKT but started at 6:15 am PKT, which is 10:15 am in Japan. The official schedule shows that new start time, and the scorecard shows both sides batting a maximum of 13 overs instead of the usual 20.
Bangladesh used all 13 overs and lost only seven wickets, so the innings ended on the over limit. That is how we know the match was shortened. The official record does not give the reason for the late start. A wet outfield after days of rain was widely reported, but we could not read that on an official page.
After four washed out quarter-finals, a shortened game was still a relief. Nobody wanted a semi-final decided by rankings.
Abdul Samad and Hassan Nawaz finished the chase
Abdul Samad hit 30 not out from 15 balls, with five fours and a six, to finish the chase. Hassan Nawaz made 27 not out from 22 balls. Saim Ayub added 21 from 12 balls after Pakistan lost early wickets, including captain Sahibzada Farhan for 1.
| Pakistan batter | Runs | Balls | 4s and 6s |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abdul Samad | 30 not out | 15 | 5 fours, 1 six |
| Hassan Nawaz | 27 not out | 22 | 2 fours, 2 sixes |
| Saim Ayub | 21 | 12 | 1 four, 2 sixes |
| Maaz Sadaqat | 15 | 7 | 2 fours, 1 six |
| Usman Khan | 14 | 9 | 1 four, 1 six |
| Sahibzada Farhan (captain) | 1 | 4 | none |
Pakistan were 72 for 4 after about nine overs, on our own check of the live feed. At that point the game was still open. Samad and Nawaz then added the last 40 runs without losing a wicket, and Samad's strike rate of 200 settled it.
For Bangladesh, Tawhid Hridoy top scored with 42 from 25 balls, with four sixes. Nobody else in their side passed 20. Captain Litton Das was bowled for 2.

Sufyan Moqim took three wickets for Pakistan
Sufyan Moqim was Pakistan's best bowler, with 3 for 26 in his three overs. Arafat Minhas took 2 for 23. Saim Ayub bowled two overs for just 3 runs and a wicket, the tightest spell of the match. One Bangladesh batter was run out.
The one weak spot was the wides. Pakistan's bowlers gave away 15 wides in 13 overs, more than one an over. In a final against a stronger batting side, that is the habit to fix first.
Bangladesh's wickets were shared. Rishad Hossain took 1 for 12, Mahedi Hasan 1 for 17, Nasum Ahmed 1 for 33 and Mustafizur Rahman 1 for 41 from just two overs.
| Bowler | Team | Overs | Figures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sufyan Moqim | Pakistan | 3 | 3 for 26 |
| Arafat Minhas | Pakistan | 3 | 2 for 23 |
| Saim Ayub | Pakistan | 2 | 1 for 3 |
| Rishad Hossain | Bangladesh | 2.3 | 1 for 12 |
| Mahedi Hasan | Bangladesh | 3 | 1 for 17 |
