Pakistan have 15 players and India have 14 for the Asian Games 2026 men's cricket final on Saturday 3 October. Sahibzada Farhan leads Pakistan. Shreyas Iyer leads India. We read both squads, and both semi-final scorecards, on the official Asian Games 2026 results system early on Saturday morning.

The match starts at 9:30 am PKT at Korogi Athletic Park in Nisshin, Japan. Start time, the route to the final and where to watch are in the Pakistan vs India Asian Games cricket final preview. This page covers the players.

Pakistan's squad has 15 players on the official entry list. Sahibzada Farhan is captain, as marked on the semi-final scorecard. Usman Khan is the only player listed as wicketkeeper. Four players did not get a game in the semi-final against Bangladesh.

The official system records each Pakistan player by batting hand only. So we list who played on 1 October, not bowling styles.

India's 14-man squad is led by Shreyas Iyer

India have 14 players. Shreyas Iyer is captain, as marked on India's semi-final scorecard. The squad has two wicketkeepers, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson, and two frontline fast bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. Three players sat out the semi-final.

The official system uses full legal names. Sanju Samson appears as Sanju Vishwanadh, Washington Sundar as Mani Sundar and Tilak Varma under Namboori. We use the names fans know.

  2. Ishan Kishan, wicketkeeper

Five players to watch in the Pakistan vs India Asian Games final with their semi-final figures

Pakistan players to watch are Abdul Samad, Sufyan Moqim and Hassan Nawaz

Each team has played only one full match at these Games, so the semi-final is the only form guide. For Pakistan, Abdul Samad, Hassan Nawaz and Sufyan Moqim did the most against Bangladesh. Saim Ayub also took a cheap wicket with the ball.

  • Abdul Samad: 30 not out from 15 balls, with five fours and a six. He finished the chase.
  • Hassan Nawaz: 27 not out from 22 balls, with two sixes. He stayed in while wickets fell.
  • Sufyan Moqim: 3 for 26 in three overs, the best bowling of the match.
  • Saim Ayub: 21 from 12 balls, then 1 for 3 in two overs.
  • Arafat Minhas: 2 for 23 in three overs.

Captain Sahibzada Farhan made only 1. Pakistan will want more from the top order against a stronger attack.

India players to watch are Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel

India's semi-final against Sri Lanka gave them three clear match winners. Ishan Kishan scored 80 not out, Jasprit Bumrah took 2 for 7, and Axar Patel took 2 for 8. Young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also scored quickly at the top.

India playerSemi-final figures
Ishan Kishan80 not out, 46 balls, 5 sixes
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi38 from 21 balls
Jasprit Bumrah2 overs, 2 for 7
Axar Patel3 overs, 2 for 8
Abhishek Sharma0.5 overs, 2 for 2

India made 169 for 7 and bowled Sri Lanka out for 45. That was a 124-run win. Bumrah's two overs cost just seven runs.

India have won the last six men's T20 games against Pakistan, reported

India are reported to have won the last six senior men's T20 meetings with Pakistan, most recently by 61 runs on 15 February 2026. We could not read a full head-to-head table on an official cricket board page this morning, so treat this as reported.

The reported run includes three Indian wins in September 2025. The Asian Games is a multi-sport event, so the match is a medal game rather than a bilateral series.

Pakistan's bowlers must cut the wides against India's batting

The clearest gap between the sides on 1 October was extras. Pakistan's bowlers gave away 15 wides in 13 overs against Bangladesh. India's bowlers gave away 5 wides in 9.5 overs against Sri Lanka. Extra balls to Kishan and Sooryavanshi could decide the final.

Rain has also shaped this event. Both quarter-finals on 28 September were abandoned, and Pakistan's semi-final started late and was cut to 13 overs a side. If the start on Saturday is late, expect a shorter game. The bronze match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka started on time at 5:00 am PKT on Saturday.

Wides given away by Pakistan and India bowlers in their Asian Games semi-finals

A win would give Pakistan their first Asian Games cricket gold

Pakistan's men have never won Asian Games cricket gold. Their only previous men's cricket medal was bronze at Guangzhou in 2010. Reaching this final already guarantees silver, so Saturday decides whether it becomes gold.

The Pakistan medal tally at the Asian Games 2026 will change either way. The hockey team also met India at these Games, in the Pakistan vs India hockey semi-final. After Japan, the cricket team plays Sri Lanka at home from 9 October.
