Lahore has 11 passport offices and counters on the official list of the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P), and two of them take applications 24 hours a day: the Regional Passport Office in Garden Town and the NADRA Mega Center on Egerton Road. The table below gives every Lahore address and the phone number DGI&P prints, so you can pick the nearest office or the one open when you are free.

The two night offices matter most to people who work long days. Two more centres, on Peco Road and Sanda Road, stay open into the evening. We read DGI&P's list of passport offices and its ordinary passport page on 28 October 2026. The office list was last modified on 20 July 2026 and the passport page on 23 October 2026.

Lahore has 11 passport offices on the official list

DGI&P lists eight passport offices in Lahore and three passport counters inside NADRA Mega Centers. The eight are three regional offices, one executive office in DHA, Shahdara, and three counters inside the Bar Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Punjab Assembly.

Two small points about the phone numbers. The Garden Town number appears as 042-9201836, one digit shorter than the other Lahore landlines on the list. And the DHA office and the Chamber of Commerce counter share the same number. If a number does not connect, use the national helpline further down.

Garden Town and Egerton Road stay open through the night

DGI&P runs Garden Town and the Egerton Road Mega Center in three shifts, seven days a week. Peco Road and Sanda Road run morning and evening shifts only. Every other Lahore office keeps normal hours of 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays.

The three shifts are 8:00 to 16:00, 16:00 to 24:00 and 24:00 to 08:00 hours. So Garden Town and Egerton Road take applications at midnight and on Sunday. That is the main reason people from across the city end up there.

There is one conflict to know about. The office list says Peco Road and Sanda Road work "until 10:30 pm". The shift table on the passport page puts the evening shift at 4 pm to midnight. We would plan around 10:30 pm, the earlier time, for those two centres.

The other offices follow the normal timetable: 8 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday, with a prayer and lunch break from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. DGI&P offices close on public holidays. The page does not mention Saturday. The national picture is in our note on passport office timings.

You can use any Lahore office, whatever your CNIC address says

Passport Rule 6 of 2021, quoted on DGI&P's page, lets every citizen apply at any passport office, whatever address is on the CNIC, NICOP or Child Registration Certificate. So a Raiwind resident can use Garden Town at night, and a student from another city can apply in Lahore.

This is set out in more detail in the rule on applying at any passport office. In practice it means you should choose by hours and queue, not by the address on your card.

The three counters inside the Bar Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Punjab Assembly are different. They sit inside those buildings, and DGI&P's list does not say who may use them. Call first, or go to a public office instead.

The Executive Passport Office in DHA follows the same 8 am to 4 pm timetable as the regional offices, according to DGI&P. The pages we read do not publish a separate fee for executive offices, so ask at the counter before you queue.

Lahore is also on DGI&P's list of fast track passport cities. Since the e-Passport has replaced the ordinary passport, ask at the counter whether fast track is still taken for your application.

Bring your CNIC and old passport, and pay the e-Passport fee

An adult needs the original CNIC with a photocopy, the previous passport if one was issued, and a departmental NOC if they work for the government. The e-Passport fee is Rs 9,000 normal or Rs 15,000 urgent for 36 pages and five years.

e-PassportValidityNormal feeUrgent fee
36 pages5 yearsRs 9,000Rs 15,000
36 pages10 yearsRs 13,500Rs 22,500
72 pages5 yearsRs 16,500Rs 27,000
72 pages10 yearsRs 24,750Rs 40,500

These fees are the same at every office in Lahore. Children under 15 get five years of validity only. For a child, bring the Child Registration Certificate (Form B) or Family Registration Certificate, and both parents' CNICs; the rules are in our note on a child passport. Government staff need an NOC from their department.

DGI&P's processing table says normal passports take 21 working days and urgent ones 5. Its general guidelines on the same page say 10 and 4 working days. We cannot tell which is current, so plan with the longer figure.

Plan a Lahore passport visit in five steps

Pick the office by your free time, check its hours, carry the documents, and arrive early in the shift. A night visit to Garden Town or Egerton Road suits people who cannot leave work. Weekday mornings at a smaller office often suit everyone else.

  1. Choose the office from the table above by distance and hours.
  2. Check whether it is a 24 hour office or a normal 8 am to 4 pm office.
  3. Carry your original CNIC, a photocopy and your old passport.
  4. Arrive early in a shift, get a token, and give your photo and fingerprints.
  5. Keep the token slip and watch for SMS updates from 9988.

What happens at each counter is explained in how a passport application works. Once you have applied, use passport tracking to follow it.

Steps to plan a visit to a Lahore passport office

Call the DGI&P helpline if an office does not answer

DGI&P's helpline is 051-111-344-777. Its notice says the line is staffed from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on working days. Complaints can also go to the Pakistan Citizen Portal, which DGI&P names on the same notice.

Status updates come by SMS from 9988 to the number you gave at data entry. Nobody needs to text a token to 9988. If an office refuses to take your application or a passport is late, the route is in our note on how to file a passport complaint.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 28 October 2026. The addresses, phone numbers and 24 hour labels come from DGI&P's passport office list (last modified 20 July 2026). The shift table, normal office hours, Rule 6, documents, e-Passport fees and processing times come from DGI&P's ordinary passport page (last modified 23 October 2026). The fast track city list and the helpline hours come from DGI&P's fast track page and its helpline notice. We did not visit or call any office. We could not confirm who may use the three institution counters, whether the short Garden Town number works, whether fast track is still offered for the e-Passport, or which of the two processing times is current.
