Short answer: The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P) lists 47 cities where the Fast Track passport service is available. The list has 19 cities in Punjab, 14 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7 in Azad Kashmir, 3 each in Sindh and Balochistan, and Islamabad. Find your city below before you pay for the urgent service.

We read the DGI&P Fast Track page on 12 October 2026. The page shows it was last modified on 9 September 2026. It names 47 cities in one table. We did not apply for a passport, so we did not test the service at a counter.

The 47 cities are spread over six regions

The page lists 47 cities in one table. Punjab has the most with 19, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 14 and Azad Kashmir with 7. Sindh and Balochistan have three each, and Islamabad is the one federal city.

The service grew in three steps. It started in seven cities: Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta. DGI&P later added 14 cities, and on 6 January 2025 it added 26 more, which brought the total to 47.

Number of Fast Track passport cities in each region of Pakistan

We grouped the cities by province ourselves. The DGI&P table is one numbered list. We also corrected a few spellings, for example Bannu and Bhakkar, which the page writes in a different way.

The page gives two different delivery times

This is the part to read carefully. The Fast Track page carries a note that, because of more applications, delivery will take 4 working days from 3 February 2023. A line lower on the same page repeats the older promise of 48 hours, which is 2 working days.

The DGI&P ordinary passport page lists Fast Track at 2 working days and Urgent at 5 working days. So the same authority shows 2 days on two pages and 4 days on a third. We cannot tell you which one holds on the day you apply.

The safe plan is to treat 4 working days as the likely figure and 2 as the best case. Do not book a flight that leaves on day 3 with only a Fast Track receipt in your hand. Our guide to official passport fees sets the Fast Track fee beside the other categories.

How to check that your city is covered

Match your city or the nearest city on the list, then confirm at the counter. The service is tied to the passport office, so being in a covered city does not guarantee a specific small office offers it. Ask before you queue.

  1. Find your city in the table above, or on the DGI&P Fast Track page.
  2. If your town is not listed, use the nearest listed city. The page does not give a rule for towns outside the list.
  3. Call the DGI&P helpline on 051-111-344-777 and ask whether your passport office takes Fast Track applications.
  4. Carry your original CNIC and a copy. Add your old passport if you have one.
  5. Choose the Fast Track category at the counter and keep the receipt.
  6. Give your mobile number or email at data entry so DGI&P can send a status message.
Six steps to confirm Fast Track passport service in your city

What the Fast Track service does not change

Fast Track changes the speed and the fee. It does not change who can apply or what papers you need. The ordinary passport page asks adults for an original CNIC or NICOP with a copy, and the old passport if one was issued.

Government and semi-government workers need an NOC from the employer. Our guide to a government employee NOC covers that step. Lost passports need a police report, and our guide to replacing a lost passport explains it.

From 15 October 2026 new applications are reported to be e-passports only. We cover the details in our guide to the end of machine-readable passports. The Fast Track page does not mention e-passports, so ask the counter how the two services fit together.

How to follow your application after you apply

DGI&P says you will receive status messages on your phone or email if you give them at data entry. The messages come from the number 9988. You can also track the application yourself.

Read our guide to tracking a passport in Pakistan for the steps. If your passport must reach you at home, see passport home delivery through TCS.

Common questions

How many cities have Fast Track passport service?

DGI&P lists 47 cities. That is the figure on its Fast Track page, last modified on 9 September 2026.

Is Fast Track available in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad?

Yes. All three are on the list. They were among the first seven cities when the service launched in October 2021.

How long does Fast Track take?

The DGI&P pages give 2 working days and 4 working days. A note says 4 working days from 3 February 2023. Plan for 4 and treat 2 as the best case.

Is Fast Track the same as Urgent?

No. DGI&P lists them as separate categories on its ordinary passport page, with different times and fees. Check both fees before you choose.

My city is not on the list. What do I do?

Apply in the nearest listed city or use the Urgent category. The page does not say any other town can offer Fast Track.

Does Fast Track work for children?

The page does not exclude them, but it does not discuss them either. Read our guide on a child's passport and ask the counter.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the DGI&P Fast Track page and the ordinary passport page at dgip.gov.pk on 12 October 2026. We did not read a current Fast Track fee on the Fast Track page, so this guide states none. The city list and the delivery time can change, so check the page before you travel.
