The main passport office in Peshawar is in Phase 5, Hayatabad, near North West Hospital (phone 091-9217616-7), and it runs morning and evening shifts; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 39 passport offices and counters in all on the official list. The table below gives every KP address and phone number from the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P), from Chitral to Dera Ismail Khan, including the offices in the merged districts.

Most KP families do not need to travel to Peshawar any more. We read DGI&P's list of passport offices and its ordinary passport page on 28 October 2026. The office list was last modified on 20 July 2026.

Peshawar has three passport offices, one with evening hours

DGI&P lists three offices in Peshawar: the Regional Passport Office in Hayatabad, an executive office at the NADRA Mega Centre at Tambowanu Morr, and a counter in the Provincial Assembly. The Hayatabad office runs both a morning and an evening shift.

The morning shift runs 8:00 to 16:00 and the evening shift 16:00 to 24:00 hours, according to DGI&P's shift table. So a working person in Peshawar can apply after office hours. The Assembly counter sits inside the Assembly building, and the list does not say who may use it.

Every other KP district office, with address and phone

DGI&P lists 31 more passport offices across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Seven of them carry a phone number: Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Abbottabad, Bannu, Haripur and Chitral. The rest list an address only, or just a district name in the merged districts.

DGI&P still writes the merged districts as agencies, such as Kurram Agency and Bajaur Agency. We use the current district names. Because the list gives no street address there, ask at the local NADRA office or call the helpline before travelling.

Five NADRA centres in KP also take passport applications

DGI&P lists five passport counters inside NADRA offices in KP: Khwazakhela in Swat, Chakdara in Lower Dir, Sheringal in Upper Dir, Shergarh near Takht Bhai, and Pattan in Lower Kohistan. None carries a phone number on the list.

These counters keep normal hours of 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, with a break from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm, like every KP office except Peshawar's evening shift. DGI&P offices close on public holidays. The national comparison is in our note on passport office timings.

Fourteen KP cities are on the fast track list

DGI&P lists 14 KP cities for fast track: Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Abbottabad, Bannu, Hangu, Haripur, Batkhela, Swabi, Nowshera, Karak and Mansehra. Now that the e-Passport is the standard book, confirm at the counter that fast track is still offered.

The national list is in fast track passport cities. Passport Rule 6 of 2021, quoted by DGI&P, also lets you apply at any office whatever address your CNIC shows. A Bajaur resident working in Peshawar can apply in Hayatabad, and the rule is explained in applying at any passport office.

Bring your CNIC, old passport and the e-Passport fee

An adult needs the original CNIC with a photocopy, the old passport if one was issued, and a department NOC for government staff. The e-Passport costs Rs 9,000 normal or Rs 15,000 urgent for 36 pages and five years, the same at every KP office.

  1. Pick the nearest office from the tables, or Hayatabad for an evening visit.
  2. Carry your original CNIC, a photocopy and your old passport.
  3. For a child, bring Form B or the Family Registration Certificate and both parents' CNICs.
  4. Get a token, then give your photo and fingerprints.
  5. Keep the slip and watch for SMS updates from 9988.

A 10 year, 36 page e-Passport costs Rs 13,500 normal and Rs 22,500 urgent; see the full official passport fees. DGI&P's page gives normal processing as 21 working days in one table and 10 in its guidelines, and says courier time to remote areas is extra. In Chitral, Kohistan or the tribal districts, plan with the longer time.

Steps to apply at a passport office in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

When an office does not answer, call DGI&P's helpline on 051-111-344-777, staffed 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on working days, or file a passport complaint on the Pakistan Citizen Portal.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 28 October 2026. Every address and phone number comes from DGI&P's passport office list (last modified 20 July 2026), which shows 34 offices and 5 NADRA counters for KP. Shift times, normal hours, Rule 6, documents and e-Passport fees come from DGI&P's ordinary passport page (last modified 23 October 2026), and the fast track cities from its fast track page. We did not visit or call any office. We could not find street addresses for the seven merged district offices, confirm who may use the Assembly counter, or confirm whether fast track still runs for the e-Passport.
