Petrol Price Today in Pakistan, 25 September 2026: Down to Rs 389.28

Petrol costs Rs 389.28 a litre in Pakistan from Friday, 25 September 2026, down 84 paisa. High speed diesel is Rs 412.12, down Rs 2.63. It is the third petrol cut in three days, and diesel has now fallen on five price dates in a row.

The Petroleum Division announced the new rates late on Thursday night, 24 September. That is the petrol price today in Pakistan. We checked the Pakistan State Oil price page at about 1am on 25 September, and it already shows both new prices, effective 25 September.

The cut is small for car and bike owners. Diesel users gain more. A truck taking 200 litres pays Rs 2,560 less than at the 18 September peak.

Petrol is Rs 389.28 and diesel Rs 412.12 today

From 25 September 2026, petrol is Rs 389.28 a litre and high speed diesel is Rs 412.12. Petrol fell Rs 0.84 and diesel Rs 2.63 from the 24 September rates. PSO's own price page shows the same two figures, effective 25 September.

Dawn, Business Recorder and The Express Tribune report the same cuts from a Petroleum Division press release issued on 24 September. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price regulator, set the new rates under the daily pricing system. When we checked the Petroleum Division's website at about 1am, the release for 25 September was not posted yet. So the figures come from PSO's page and the press, not from the Division itself.

The 24 September column is now confirmed at source. The Division has posted its release dated 23 September, which sets petrol at Rs 390.12 and diesel at Rs 414.75 for 24 September. Kerosene and light diesel oil are not priced daily, and PSO still lists them at the rates above.

Petrol has fallen Rs 4.47 in three days

Petrol hit Rs 393.75 on 22 September. Since then it has fallen three days running: Rs 1.70, then Rs 1.93, then Rs 0.84. The total is Rs 4.47 a litre. The smallest of the three is today's.

We read the Division's releases for 22, 23 and 24 September on its website. The 25 September row is from PSO and the press. Each change adds up to the next price, to the paisa.

The wider picture is flat. Petrol is only Rs 1.94 below the Rs 391.22 it cost on 17 September. It is still Rs 43.41 above the Rs 345.87 of 5 September. Every step since 17 September is listed with the 24 September prices.

Diesel is Rs 12.80 below its 18 September peak

Diesel peaked at Rs 424.92 on 18 September. It has fallen on every price date since then: 19, 22, 23, 24 and 25 September. That is five cuts, worth Rs 12.80 a litre in total, or about 3 per cent.

Diesel runs trucks, buses, tractors and generators. So its price reaches goods and fares, not just private cars. None of the reports we read mentions any change in transport fares.

Each release gives the same reason: changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals. Platts is the service whose Gulf price quotes Pakistan uses as its benchmark. OGRA works from an average of several days of those quotes, so world price moves reach the pump slowly. That lag is explained in why petrol did not fall when oil fell.

Tax is still a big part of each litre. Dawn reports about Rs 114 a litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs 100 on diesel. We did not check that figure against a government document.

A 40 litre tank costs Rs 33.60 less than yesterday

A 40 litre petrol tank costs Rs 15,571.20 today, Rs 33.60 less than on 24 September. Against the 22 September high it is Rs 178.80 less. A 200 litre diesel fill costs Rs 82,424, which is Rs 526 less than yesterday.

1. Bike, 5 litres of petrol: Rs 1,946.40, down Rs 4.20 from yesterday.

3. Pickup, 40 litres of diesel: Rs 16,484.80, down Rs 105.20, and Rs 512 below the 18 September peak.
4. Truck, 200 litres of diesel: Rs 82,424, and Rs 2,560 below the peak.

These are our own sums at the reference price. A pump far from the main depots can charge a little more for freight, as PSO's page notes. The running figure for each day is kept with the daily petrol price record.

The 9771 relief brings petrol to Rs 289.28

Bikes, rickshaws and cars up to 800cc still get Rs 100 off each litre with a 9771 token. At today's price that makes petrol Rs 289.28 a litre. A bike token covers 5 litres every 7 days, and a car token covers 10 litres every 10 days.

We re-read the official portal, pmfuelrelief.pk, on 25 September. It still offers Rs 100 a litre. The vehicle must be registered on or after 1 January 2006, and a car must be in the applicant's own name. The portal gives no end date.

A 5 litre bike token now costs Rs 1,446.40 instead of Rs 1,946.40. A 10 litre car token costs Rs 2,892.80 instead of Rs 3,892.80. The discount is fixed, so price cuts do not change what you save. The SMS format and the fixes for a missing token are in how to get petrol relief with code 9771.
