PIA Awards+Plus in Pakistan: Earn Miles, and 11,000 Miles Buys a Domestic Flight
Join PIA Awards+Plus free, quote your number on every booking and earn A+ Miles. See the 4 tiers, the 5 award zones, upgrade prices and the Rs 4 a mile top-up.

PIA Awards+Plus is the airline's free frequent flyer programme. You enrol online or in the PIA app, quote your membership number when you book, and earn A+ Miles on each flight. On PIA's chart a one-way economy flight inside Pakistan costs 11,000 miles, and Islamabad to Karachi earns 699 miles on a full fare.
Most Pakistanis fly PIA a few times a year and never claim a single mile. That is money left on the table. We opened the Awards+Plus pages on the PIA website on 11 October 2026 and pulled out the numbers that matter: how to join, how many miles a flight earns, what a free ticket costs and where the rules bite.
Awards+Plus membership is free and you join online
Enrol through the PIA website or the PIA mobile app. After you submit the form, PIA emails a membership number, a password and an IVR PIN code. Keep all three. The number is what you quote at every booking.
The programme has four tiers: Classic, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Everyone starts in Classic. PIA's own page lists the moves up.
| Move | Miles in one calendar year | Or trips |
|---|---|---|
| Classic to Silver | 15,000 A+ Miles | 13 trips |
| Silver to Gold | 35,000 A+ Miles | 30 trips |
| Gold to Platinum | 80,000 A+ Miles | 60 trips |
You keep a tier by meeting the same trips or miles in a calendar year. If you fall short you drop down, for example Silver to Classic.

Miles are earned only if the number is on the booking
Give your membership number and your name at the time of reservation, and the miles post to your account on their own. PIA says to write the name as Last Name, First Name, Middle Name. A mismatch can stop the miles from posting.
How many you earn depends on the route and the fare class. Full fares earn more than cheap ones. PIA's domestic chart shows the pattern for Islamabad to Karachi: 769 miles on the top fare, 699 on a standard full fare, 349 on the cheapest class. Islamabad to Quetta earns 430 on the standard full fare. Executive Economy gives members a 10% bonus.
The fare class matters more than most people think. A cheap budget fare earns half the miles of a full one. If you fly often, compare the two before you pay. The PIA ticket booking steps show where the fare is chosen.
A free flight costs 11,000 miles at the cheapest, 90,000 at the most
PIA sets award prices by zone. Zone 1 is Pakistan. Zone 5 is North America. The amounts are in A+ Miles for an economy ticket.
| Zone | Region | One way | Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Domestic | 11,000 | 22,000 |
| 2 | UAE and Gulf | 16,000 | 26,000 |
| 3 | Saudi Arabia | 23,000 | 38,000 |
| 4 | Europe and Far East | 34,000 | 56,000 |
| 5 | USA and North America | 54,000 | 90,000 |
Executive Economy costs more, for example 16,000 one way on a domestic route. Do the sum for a domestic award. A one-way ticket is 11,000 miles. Islamabad to Karachi earns 699 miles on a standard full fare. You need about 16 such one-way flights to afford one free one-way seat. That is a slow climb, so the programme pays off most for people who fly long routes or fly every month.
Changing the date of an award ticket costs a penalty of 1,000 A+ Miles on a domestic flight and 2,000 on an international one.

Miles also pay for upgrades and excess baggage
You can use miles for more than a ticket. PIA lists two other uses.
Cabin upgrades. Moving from Economy to Executive Economy on a domestic flight costs 5,000 miles on a prime fare, 6,250 on a special fare and 7,500 on a budget fare. For the Gulf the prime-fare price is 8,000 miles. Upgrades depend on seats being available.
Excess baggage. Miles can pay for extra kilos. From Saudi Arabia, excess baggage costs 1,000 miles a kilo and pre-paid baggage 550. From Pakistan to the United Kingdom, excess costs 2,200 miles a kilo and pre-paid 1,100. Ask first what the cash price is. If your bag is 10 kg over, 22,000 miles would buy a free domestic return flight instead. See the baggage allowance comparison before you decide how much to carry.
Top up miles if you are short, but the price is fixed
If you have some miles but not enough, PIA lets you buy the gap. Residents of Pakistan pay Rs 4.00 for each mile. Overseas residents pay USD 0.025, which is 2.5 cents a mile. There is a catch: you must redeem at least 50 per cent of the miles needed from your own balance and buy only the rest.
Take a domestic one-way award at 11,000 miles. If you hold 5,500 miles, you may buy the other 5,500. At Rs 4.00 a mile that top-up costs Rs 22,000. Compare that with the cash fare for the same flight before you buy.
Name fixes are cheap for the top tiers. A Silver member pays 300 miles to correct a name. Gold and Platinum pay nothing. Send a scan of your CNIC to PIA, or call 111-786-786.
A short plan to start earning today
- Enrol on the PIA website or app and save the membership number and PIN.
- Add the number to every booking, including bookings you make for yourself through an agent.
- Write your name in the Last Name, First Name, Middle Name order.
- Check your balance in the portal after each trip.
- Read PIA's current Awards+Plus terms before you spend miles, because PIA can change them.
Online check-in also uses your booking details, so a correct name helps there too. The PIA online check-in steps explain how it works on domestic flights.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 11 October 2026. All miles, zones, tiers and charges come from PIA's own Awards+Plus earnings page, its redemptions page and its FAQs, which we opened on that date. PIA can change them, and award seats depend on availability. We did not test a live booking or an actual redemption. For help, call PIA on 111-786-786.
