PMD Jobs 2026: 24 Posts for Balochistan, Walk-in Interview Dates in Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Sibi, Gwadar and Turbat
PMD has 24 regular jobs for Balochistan on njp.gov.pk, last date 12 November 2026, then walk-in interviews from 17 to 29 November in six cities. See every date.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has 24 regular jobs in 10 posts for Balochistan, with online applications on njp.gov.pk until 12 November 2026 and walk-in interviews at six weather stations from 17 to 29 November. Interviews start at 8:00 am in Quetta on 17 November and end in Turbat on 29 November. Six of the seats are for balloon makers.
PMD posted all 10 listings on the National Jobs Portal on 29 October 2026. We read each one on 1 November 2026. Unlike most departments in this week's Balochistan drive, PMD printed its full interview timetable inside the listings, so you can plan the trip now.
PMD has 24 posts and six interview dates in November
PMD's 10 listings hold 24 regular seats for Balochistan, closing online on 12 November 2026. Walk-in interviews for all posts then run at six PMD stations between 17 and 29 November, each starting at 8:00 am. The age limit is 30 for every post.
PMD is the federal weather service, the body behind forecasts, fog updates and earthquake reports. These jobs sit in its Balochistan stations: observers who record the weather, a meteorological assistant, an electronics sub engineer and the staff who make and launch the weather balloons.

The walk-in interview schedule for all PMD posts
The listings give one timetable for every post. Report at 8:00 am at the station on the date shown. Choose the centre nearest the district of your post, because the BPS-01 jobs are tied to a district.
| Date | Day | Interview centre |
|---|---|---|
| 17 November 2026 | Tuesday | Pilot Balloon Observatory, Sheikhmanda, Airport Road, Quetta |
| 19 November 2026 | Thursday | Pilot Balloon Observatory, Zhob City |
| 21 November 2026 | Saturday | Meteorological Observatory, Barkhan City |
| 23 November 2026 | Monday | Meteorological Observatory, Allah Abad, Sibi |
| 27 November 2026 | Friday | Meteorological Office, CPEC Road, Gwadar City |
| 29 November 2026 | Sunday | Aero-Meteorological Observatory, Turbat Airport |
The listings do not say whether you must also have applied online to be seen at the walk-in. We would do both: apply on the portal by 12 November, then attend with original documents. That covers you either way.

Every PMD post, seats and qualification
Five posts need matric to a science degree, and five grade one posts need only a primary pass. The meteorological assistant post is the top job here, in BPS-14, for a second class BSc with a science subject such as physics, geography or geology.
| Post | BPS | Seats | Qualification | District seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meteorological Assistant | 14 | 2 | 2nd class BSc with meteorology, physics, geography, geology or a listed subject; maths to intermediate | Not stated |
| Sub-Engineer (Electronics) | 13 | 1 | 3 year DAE electronics, instruments or radio | Not stated |
| Senior Observer | 9 | 3 | 2nd division FSc pre-engineering or non-medical | Not stated |
| Observer | 7 | 1 | 2nd division matric science | Not stated |
| Radio Mechanic | 7 | 1 | Matric science, 3 years radio or TV repair | Not stated |
| Balloon Maker | 1 | 6 | Primary pass | Quetta 3, Barkhan 2, Zhob 1 |
| Chowkidar | 1 | 4 | Primary pass | Quetta 4 |
| Naib Qasid | 1 | 3 | Primary pass | Turbat, Zhob, Gwadar, 1 each |
| Sweeper | 1 | 2 | Primary pass | Quetta 1, Sibi 1 |
| Mali | 1 | 1 | Primary pass | Quetta 1 |
Computer literacy is "preferable" for the observer posts, not required. The radio mechanic is the only post with an experience rule.
Grade one posts need a domicile of that district
For balloon maker, naib qasid, chowkidar, sweeper and mali, PMD says only candidates with a local or domicile certificate of the respective district will be considered. A Quetta domicile cannot take the Sibi sweeper seat. These 16 seats follow the district.
The age rule for these grade one posts is spelt out as 18 to 25, plus 5 years, so 30. The portal also shows 30 as the limit for the higher posts. The listings do not say whether a further Balochistan relaxation applies, as some other departments in this drive allow.
If your domicile is old or lost, sort it out before the interview date. The plan to issue a Balochistan domicile at NADRA centres may make that quicker where it has started.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 1 November 2026. Every post, grade, seat count, qualification, district seat, age rule, the interview centres, dates and 8:00 am reporting time, and the 12 November deadline come from PMD's 10 listings on the National Jobs Portal, read on 1 November 2026. The free service rule comes from the NJP FAQs. The days of the week and seat totals are our own working. We did not find a PMD website notice, pay or a rule on whether walk-in candidates must apply online first.
