PTCL Shoq TV costs Rs 300 a month with a PTCL internet connection, or Rs 799 a month on its own, and the Android TV box costs Rs 7,999 upfront or Rs 400 a month for 30 months. The Shoq TV app, without a box, costs Rs 300 a month for Shoq Premium and can be paid through a PTCL bill, Ufone balance, Easypaisa or JazzCash. PTCL includes Shoq TV in internet packages of 10 Mbps and above. Every option, the tax by province and the fixes for a locked box are below.

PTCL Shoq TV prices: three ways to get it
You can take Shoq TV with PTCL internet for Rs 300 a month, as a standalone service for Rs 799, or as the Shoq TV app for Rs 300 on a phone or smart TV. The first two need the Android TV box. The app needs nothing but internet.

The box stays PTCL's property for three years. If you close the connection before then, PTCL's product page says the box must be returned. That matters if you are renting and might move.
What the Shoq TV box does
The Shoq TV box is an Android TV box with a voice remote and built-in Chromecast. PTCL lists 200 live channels, 15,000 hours of films and shows, rewind for up to 3 hours, catch-up TV, the past 7 days on demand, ad-free dramas and 4K support.
Netflix and YouTube come pre-installed, and you can add other apps from the Google Play Store. Netflix itself is a separate subscription, so the box only saves you a streaming stick, not the Netflix fee. PTCL says Shoq TV works on both copper and Flash Fiber connections nationwide.
On Flash Fiber, the box can run over Wi-Fi instead of a cable. PTCL's steps: open Settings on the Shoq home page, connect to your PTCL 5 GHz Wi-Fi, go to IP Settings, choose DHCP, press OK, and unplug the Ethernet cable. On copper lines this option is not offered.
The Shoq TV app costs Rs 300 and works without PTCL
Shoq Premium in the app costs Rs 300 a month before tax. PTCL customers pay on their PTCL bill. Everyone else pays with Ufone balance or through an MDN account number that Easypaisa or JazzCash can pay.
- Install the Shoq TV app on an Android or iOS phone, an Android smart TV, or open it on the web.
- Sign in as a PTCL user, or register with your mobile number. PTCL sends the first password by SMS.
- Choose Shoq Premium. PTCL users pick the PTCL bill. Others pick Ufone balance or MDN.
- For MDN, note the account number the app assigns. In Easypaisa or JazzCash, open Bill Payment or Internet, select PTCL Evo Prepaid, and enter that MDN.
- Confirm the payment, then change the SMS password inside the app.
The app allows 2 devices and 2 streams at once by default. An extra device costs Rs 100, up to 5 devices, and an extra stream costs Rs 100, up to 3 at once, both bought in the app under My, then Feature Package. If you cancel, access lasts until the end of the period you paid for.
Tax on Shoq TV depends on your province
PTCL's tax page lists sales tax on IPTV at 5% in Punjab, 8% in Sindh, 15% in Islamabad, Balochistan and AJK, and 19.5% in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Streaming apps have their own rates, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 5% instead of 19.5%.

By our sum, Rs 300 becomes Rs 315 in Punjab and Rs 358.50 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the box service. Older PTCL TV customers may also see a Rs 100 plus tax platform service charge, which PTCL added from 1 August 2024 to existing TV packages but not to standalone packages or sales after 31 July 2024.
Why a Shoq TV box gets locked, and the fix
PTCL gives two reasons for a locked Shoq TV box: the Shoq subscription is inactive, or the PTCL bill is unpaid and the account is suspended. Check the internet, the Middleware login under Account, and the subscription, then pay any dues.
- Bill unpaid: pay it, then restart the box. You can check your PTCL bill online to see what is due.
- Internet down: the box needs a working connection. A red light on the router is a line fault for a PTCL complaint on 1218.
- Login wrong: PTCL says to check that the Middleware username and password are correct, under Account.
- App suspended: the app also stops while a PTCL account has outstanding dues.
For live cricket specifically, compare the Shoq app with the PCB Live, Tamasha and Tapmad options first, because rights change by series.
