One Saudi riyal was Rs 73.7459 in Pakistan on Friday 23 October 2026 at the State Bank of Pakistan's revaluation rate, so 1,000 riyals were worth Rs 73,745.90. That is Rs 54.80 less per 1,000 riyals than on 30 September. Below is every daily riyal rate of October 2026, a conversion table for common transfer amounts, and how to check that the rate you are offered in Saudi Arabia or at home is fair.

The State Bank does not issue rates at weekends, so the Friday figure is the latest reference on 24 and 25 October. We read every daily sheet ourselves on 25 October 2026.

Every SBP Saudi riyal rate in October 2026

The riyal moved in a narrow band in October, between a low of Rs 73.7444 on 13 October and a high of Rs 73.8127 on 20 October. Unlike the dollar, it did not move in one direction every day, because the State Bank works out the riyal from world cross rates.

What your riyals are worth in rupees today

At the 23 October rate, 500 riyals are Rs 36,872.95, 1,000 riyals are Rs 73,745.90 and 2,000 riyals are Rs 147,491.80. The table also shows how much less each amount buys than at the end of September.

RiyalsAt 23 October rateAt 30 September rateDifference
SAR 100Rs 7,374.59Rs 7,380.07Rs 5.48 less
SAR 500Rs 36,872.95Rs 36,900.35Rs 27.40 less
SAR 1,000Rs 73,745.90Rs 73,800.70Rs 54.80 less

SAR 2,000Rs 147,491.80Rs 147,601.40Rs 109.60 less
SAR 5,000Rs 368,729.50Rs 369,003.50Rs 274.00 less

These are reference values. The rate on your transfer receipt will be a little lower, because the bank or exchange house keeps a margin. Still, the difference over a month is small: Rs 54.80 on 1,000 riyals is less than most transfer fees.

The riyal follows the dollar, so watch the dollar rate

The State Bank's sheet says that rates for currencies other than the dollar are worked out from the rupee's dollar rate and each currency's world rate against the dollar. Its own figures for 23 October imply about 3.754 riyals to the dollar, which is why the riyal tracks the dollar closely.

In practice, if the dollar becomes cheaper in rupees, the riyal usually does too. The dollar fell on every working day of October, and the riyal ended the month slightly lower as well. The day by day dollar list is in the dollar rate history for October 2026, and the small daily ups and downs in the riyal come from movements in world cross rates rather than from anything in Pakistan.

Check the riyal rate you are offered before you send

Compare the rate your bank, exchange house or app offers with the State Bank's figure for the same day. A gap of a few paisa is the normal margin. A gap of a rupee or more on every riyal is worth questioning, because on 2,000 riyals it costs you Rs 2,000.

  1. Open the State Bank's daily revaluation sheet and find SAR in the READY column.
  2. Ask the sender for the riyal to rupee rate and the fee, in writing or on screen.
  3. Multiply your riyals by the offered rate, then take off the fee.
  4. Do the same with a second provider and compare the rupees received.
  5. Send through a bank or licensed exchange company, and keep the receipt.

The full method for comparing riyal, dirham and dollar quotes against the State Bank's customer rates is set out in checking whether your riyal or dirham rate is fair. Avoid informal hundi or hawala channels. They are illegal, the money has no protection, and a transfer that goes missing cannot be traced.

Steps to check a Saudi riyal transfer rate against the SBP rate

Ways the money can reach a family in Pakistan

Money sent from Saudi Arabia through official channels can land in a Pakistani bank account, a mobile wallet or be collected in cash. Remittances through banking channels are also protected from tax questions up to a limit, which is a good reason not to use informal routes.

The ways a family can receive the money, including Raast transfers into an account or wallet, are explained in receiving a home remittance through Raast or an exchange company. The tax side is in remittances and the FBR limit. If you want to save or invest from Saudi Arabia in your own name, a Roshan Digital Account is the State Bank's route for overseas Pakistanis.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 25 October 2026. We read the State Bank of Pakistan's mark to market revaluation sheets for 30 September and every working day from 1 to 23 October 2026 except 21 October, which was not posted at the usual address, on 25 October 2026. We also read the sheet's note on how non-dollar rates are compiled. The conversions, differences and the implied riyals per dollar are our own arithmetic. We did not read bank or exchange house quotes in Saudi Arabia, so we give no counter rates.
