The Sindh Driving Licence Site Everyone Links To Is Dead
The dlims address shared in most guides does not resolve at all. We tested it and found the Sindh Police portal that does answer.

Correction, 1 October 2026: we rechecked dlsonline.sindhpolice.gov.pk today and it now opens directly, with no security check screen. We have corrected the section on that below.
Search for a Sindh driving licence online and nearly every guide sends you to dlims.sindhpolice.gov.pk.
We tested it on 23 August 2026. That address does not exist.
Not slow, not down for maintenance. The name does not resolve, which is a different and more final kind of broken.
What we tested, and what happened
| Address | Result on 23 August 2026 |
|---|---|
| dlims.sindhpolice.gov.pk | Does not resolve |
| dlims.police.gov.pk | No response |
| www.dlims.gos.pk | No response |
| dlsonline.sindhpolice.gov.pk | Answers |
| www.sindhpolice.gov.pk | Works |
The working portal is dlsonline.sindhpolice.gov.pk. Note the name: dlsonline, not dlims. One word apart, and the difference between a page and nothing.
Down and absent are not the same thing
This distinction is worth understanding, because it changes what you should do about it.
A site that is down answers your request and then fails, or times out. Refreshing later is reasonable. It may come back in an hour.
A name that does not resolve never gets that far. Your browser asks where the address lives and is told it does not exist. Refreshing, waiting, changing network or clearing your cache will not help, because there is nothing at the other end to reach.
When we put dlims.sindhpolice.gov.pk through a full browser, the error was explicit: the domain could not be resolved. That is as clear as this gets.
So if you have been trying that link for days and blaming your connection, it is not your connection.
The working portal now opens directly
When we first tested dlsonline.sindhpolice.gov.pk on 23 August 2026, we got a bot protection page reading Performing security verification before the site itself.
We checked again on 1 October 2026. The portal opened straight away, with no check screen. Its home page offers login and registration, a learner licence application, renewal, an International Driving Permit, licence verification and a fee calculator.
If a check screen does come back, it is normal and usually clears in a few seconds. Two things help:
- Use a normal browser, not a link preview inside WhatsApp or Facebook, which often fails the check.
- Disable an aggressive VPN or extension if the screen will not clear, since the page itself suggests exactly that.
Why the wrong address keeps spreading
The obvious question is how a dead link ends up in dozens of guides.
The answer is that almost nobody tests. A page gets written, ranks, and is copied. The next writer takes the address from the last one rather than from the portal, and the error propagates without anyone checking whether it still loads.
We have found the same pattern repeatedly. The Sindh Excise address most people share, excise.sindh.gov.pk, does not resolve either, while the working one is excise.gos.pk, which we set out in our vehicle verification guide.
It is also why we test things and put the date on them. This page is right on 23 August 2026 and may not be right in a year, which is the honest position for anything about a government website.
What we are not going to tell you
Here is where we stop, and the reason matters.
You will find pages listing the Sindh licence fee schedule, the exact documents, the medical certificate requirements and the processing times, all stated with confidence.
In August we could not read the portal itself, because of the security check described above, so we did not repeat a fee or a document list on somebody else's authority.
Now that the portal opens, we have read the fees, documents and tests at source and set them out for getting a driving licence in Sindh, from the learner stage to the permanent licence.
That is the same rule we apply everywhere. A wrong fee sends you to a bank with the wrong amount. A wrong document list sends you home from a queue.
Check the requirements on the portal or with the licence branch before you pay, because fees can change.
If you are in Punjab instead
Our Punjab coverage is much fuller, because the Punjab systems are readable without a challenge screen.
The full route for getting or renewing a licence there is in the Punjab driving licence guide, the learner stage is in the learner licence guide, and checking one that already exists is in the verification and tracking guide.
We are aware that this is an imbalance rather than a judgement about which province matters. Sindh's systems are harder to read from outside, and we would rather publish a short honest page than a long confident one built on other people's guesses.
What we could not verify
We tested every address above ourselves on 23 August 2026, twice each, with a plain request and with a full browser.
On 23 August we could not see inside dlsonline.sindhpolice.gov.pk. On 1 October 2026 it opened directly and showed learner, renewal, International Driving Permit and verification services. We did not create an account or pay a bill, so we have not tested the process end to end.
We do not know whether the dlims name once worked and has lapsed, or was never correct. Either is possible and we have no evidence for which.
Questions readers are asking
Why will the DLIMS Sindh website not open?
Because dlims.sindhpolice.gov.pk does not resolve. The name does not exist, so no amount of refreshing will reach it.
What is the correct Sindh driving licence website?
dlsonline.sindhpolice.gov.pk answered when we tested it. Note dlsonline rather than dlims.
Does DLS Online show a security verification page?
It did in August 2026. On 1 October 2026 it opened directly for us. If a check screen appears, it normally clears in a few seconds in an ordinary browser.
Is it my internet connection?
No. A domain that does not resolve fails the same way on every connection.
What documents and fees are needed?
The DLS Online FAQs ask for a clear photo with a white background and both sides of your CNIC for a learner licence. Fees are on the portal's own fee calculator.
Why do so many guides list the wrong address?
Because they copy each other rather than testing the link. The same thing happens with the Sindh Excise address.
Do you have a Punjab guide?
Yes, several, including applying, the learner stage and verifying an existing licence.
