The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has put admission slips online for the departmental examinations that start on Monday 12 October 2026. Download yours at spsc.gov.pk/candidate_portal/dde/slips with your CNIC number. Paper books are banned this time: the reference books will be on tablets that SPSC provides in the hall.

SPSC said this in a press release dated 9 October 2026, No. PSC/EXAM-II/2026/93, signed by its Assistant Controller of Examinations. We read the press release, opened the slip portal, and read SPSC's timetable for the Sub-Ordinate Accounts Service papers that open the round on 12 October.

SPSC departmental exams start 12 October 2026, admission slips online by CNIC

SPSC admission slips are online from 9 October

SPSC's 9 October press release says admission slips for departmental exams starting 12 October are now online. You download and print your own slip by entering your CNIC on SPSC's portal. Without the printed slip, you will not be allowed to sit the paper.

Departmental examinations are not recruitment tests. They are the exams serving Sindh government employees take under their service rules, for example Assistant Collector Part I and II for revenue officers, or the Sub-Ordinate Accounts Service exams for accounts staff. They often decide confirmation or promotion, so missing one can cost months.

When we opened the slip page on 10 October, it listed six examinations to choose from:

  • Sub-Ordinate Accounts Service (S.A.S) Part-I
  • Sub-Ordinate Accounts Service (S.A.S) Part-II
  • Forest Officer
  • Accounts Clerk
  • Sub-Registrar
  • Revenue Qualifying Departmental Examination (RQE)

Download your SPSC admission slip in five steps

The slip takes about a minute to download. You need only the exam name and your 13 digit CNIC number, typed without dashes. Print it on plain A4 paper and keep it with your original CNIC.

  1. Open spsc.gov.pk/candidate_portal/dde/slips in your browser.
  2. Choose your examination from the "Select Examination" list.
  3. Type your CNIC as 13 digits with no dashes, for example 4130112345671.
  4. Press Search, then download the slip that appears.
  5. Print it and check the paper dates, times and centre against SPSC's timetable.

The form rejects anything that is not a number, so do not add dashes. If no slip appears, check you picked the right exam first. Part I and Part II are listed separately. Then contact SPSC's Examination Branch-II in Hyderabad, which issued the release.

Reference books will be on SPSC tablets, not paper

This is the big change. Many departmental papers are "with books", meaning you may consult the rules during the paper. SPSC now says no physical books are allowed in the centre, and it will not hand out printed ones. Every prescribed book will be on a tablet SPSC provides.

The press release explains how the tablets work. You select your paper, then the book, from a menu. You can move forward and back through the pages, and an advanced keyword search finds a rule quickly.

That search changes how you should prepare. In the past, candidates tagged the pages of their own copies. That is no longer possible. So learn the exact names of the rules, sections and forms you rely on most, because a precise keyword finds the page in seconds and a vague one does not. Practising with a searchable PDF of the same rule book at home is time well spent.

SPSC also warns that there will be no supplementary or extra answer sheets "under any circumstances". The answer copy already has enough pages, it says. Plan your answers so they fit.

SPSC exam hall rules from 12 October 2026: slip required, no paper books, books on tablets, no extra sheets

The Sub-Ordinate Accounts Service papers run 12 to 16 October

SPSC's timetable, notice No. PSC/EXAM-II(C.S)/2026/63 dated 27 August 2026, puts the S.A.S Part-I papers on 12 and 13 October and Part-II on 14 to 16 October. All are at Government High School, G.O.R Colony, Hyderabad.

Fri 16 October10:00 am to 12:30 pmPart-II: Rules and Regulation for Audit and Inspection of Accounts (Theoretical)Without books

So six of the nine S.A.S papers are "with books". Those are the ones where the tablet replaces your own copy. For the Forest Officer, Accounts Clerk, Sub-Registrar and RQE exams, we did not find a timetable on SPSC's schedule page. Your slip shows the date and time, so treat the slip as the source.

The Assistant Collector round has just ended in Karachi

The earlier batch, Assistant Collector Part I and II, ran from 5 to 8 October at the Federal Public Service Commission's regional office in Karachi. Its viva voce on the Revenue Accounts Manual was on 9 and 10 October at SPSC's regional office in the Sindh Secretariat.

SPSC's time table of 5 October lists 51 candidates for that viva: 30 on 9 October and 21 on 10 October. If you sat that round, results will come as a press release on the SPSC website, like its other results. SPSC posts its recruitment notices there too, including SPSC Advertisement 05/2026, which closes on 23 October.

The Combined Competitive Examination is a different track again. It is a recruitment exam for new officers, and the PMS Sindh exam through the SPSC has its own schedule and rules.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked at about 5:30 am PKT on 10 October 2026. We read SPSC's press release No. PSC/EXAM-II/2026/93 dated 9 October 2026, its S.A.S time table No. PSC/EXAM-II(C.S)/2026/63 and Assistant Collector time table No. PSC/EXAM-II(C.S)/2026/60, both dated 27 August 2026, and its viva time table No. PSC/EXAM-II (C.S)/2026/85 dated 5 October 2026, all on spsc.gov.pk. We opened the admission slip page but did not enter a CNIC, so we have not seen a slip.
