Check Your SPSC Departmental Exam Centre: Hyderabad Papers Moved to the Head Office on Thandi Sarak
SPSC moved the October departmental exam centre in Hyderabad to its head office on Thandi Sarak. Check your admission slip and the exam rules before you go.

Short answer: SPSC's press release of 29 September 2026 moved the October departmental examination centre in Hyderabad from Govt. H/S School, G.O.R Colony to the SPSC Head Office, Thandi Sarak, Hyderabad. Download your admission slip at spsc.gov.pk/candidate_portal/dde/slips and check the centre printed on it before the exam.
If you wrote down "G.O.R Colony school" months ago, that address may be wrong for your paper. A candidate who goes to the old school on exam morning has no time to cross Hyderabad. The change is on the SPSC home page, and it is easy to miss under the newer notices.
The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) runs departmental examinations for serving Sindh government employees. We read the SPSC home page, the admission slip press release and the Assistant Collector viva voce timetable on 11 October 2026. This guide shows what moved and how to confirm your own centre.
SPSC moved the Hyderabad centre on 29 September 2026
The press release says the examination centre for the Departmental Examination, Session April/May 2026, scheduled for October 2026, has been changed. The old venue was Govt. H/S School, G.O.R Colony, Hyderabad. The new venue is the Head Office of SPSC at Thandi Sarak, Hyderabad.
The same notice appears in SPSC's "Recent announcements" list under 29 September 2026. We read the text on the home page. The PDF behind the link is a scanned image, so we did not read its small print line by line.
| Item | Old arrangement | After 29 September 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Centre for the October departmental exam | Govt. H/S School, G.O.R Colony, Hyderabad | Head Office, SPSC, Thandi Sarak, Hyderabad |
| Session | April/May 2026 | April/May 2026, unchanged |
| Month | October 2026 | October 2026, unchanged |

The notice does not list which papers moved
The press release speaks of the Departmental Examination for the session in general, not of named papers. It does not say that the move covers only some papers. We did not find a paper by paper list on the home page, so read your own slip rather than assume.
The slip portal lists several examinations, among them Sub-Ordinate Accounts Service Part I and II, Forest Officer, Accounts Clerk, Sub-Registrar and the Revenue Qualifying Departmental Examination. Their dates are in the admission slip announcement, which also shows the older venue in the timetable.
Your admission slip is the document that settles it
SPSC's 9 October press release says no candidate may sit the examination without the admission slip. The slip is downloaded from the SPSC portal by entering your CNIC. Treat its centre line as final, and compare it with the home page notice.
- Open spsc.gov.pk/candidate_portal/dde/slips on your phone or computer.
- Choose your examination from the list.
- Enter your 13 digit CNIC number, with no dashes.
- Download and print the slip on A4 paper.
- Read the centre, date and time lines, and compare them with the Thandi Sarak address.
If your slip still shows the school and the home page shows the head office, do not guess. Call SPSC's office number from the home page, 022-9200694, which the site lists for office hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Other SPSC rules for the same exam still apply
The 9 October press release also bans physical books inside the centre. Prescribed reference books are on tablets that SPSC provides. It says no supplementary or additional answer sheets will be given under any circumstances. Those rules sit alongside the venue change.
That matters for travel as well. Allow time to get through the entrance at a government head office and to be seated before the paper begins. The notice gives no reporting time. Check the time line on your slip.

Viva voce venues are different from written exam venues
SPSC does not hold every stage at the Hyderabad head office. Its timetable of 5 October 2026 put the viva voce of Assistant Collector Part II at the SPSC Regional Office, Sindh Secretariat, Karachi, on 9 and 10 October. Always read the venue on the paper that applies to you.
We mention it because a candidate might see "SPSC" and assume the head office. A written paper, a viva voce and a recruitment interview can each have a different venue. The result route for recruitment candidates is in how to check an SPSC result.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the SPSC website home page, including the 29 September 2026 press release text, the 9 October 2026 press release on admission slips and the 5 October 2026 Assistant Collector Part II viva voce timetable, on 11 October 2026. We did not call SPSC or open the slip portal with a roll number.
