How to Track Your SNGPL Gas Connection Application Online and Read Its 6 Stages
Track an SNGPL gas connection application on sngpl.com.pk or the ConnectOn app with your reference number, and see which of six stages is holding your file up.

To track an SNGPL gas connection application, open the Application Status page on sngpl.com.pk, choose the application type, enter your reference number or account ID, type the captcha and press Submit. The same check is in the ConnectOn app. If the status has not moved for weeks, the stage it is stuck at tells you who to call: the survey team, the house line contractor, the bank challan or the meter crew. We read SNGPL's tracking page and its RLNG connection procedure on 19 October 2026.
Thousands of households in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir applied for RLNG connections once the ban on new domestic connections was eased. Most hear nothing after the acknowledgement. The tracker does not explain itself, so this guide maps each status to the six steps in SNGPL's own procedure and to what you can do about it.
The tracker asks for an application type and a reference number
SNGPL's page is titled "Application Status/Tracking - Gas Connection". It has three inputs: Application Type, which is a dropdown; Reference No./Account ID, which the Urdu label says also accepts a CNIC number; and a captcha box with the instruction "Type characters as shown in below box". Both fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory.

- Go to the Track Your Application link under Customer Services on sngpl.com.pk.
- Pick the application type that matches what you filed: new domestic RLNG, commercial, conversion, reconnection or change of name.
- Enter the reference number from your acknowledgement receipt. If you have none, try your CNIC number as the page allows.
- Type the captcha exactly as shown and press Submit.
- Note the stage shown and the date against it, and screenshot it for your record.
The reference number is on the acknowledgement that SNGPL issues after scrutiny of an online application. The online application page says the receipt "may be issued and made available on the same link" where you applied, so check there first if you never received it. Applicants who filed on paper at a regional office have the number on the counter receipt.
Every application passes through six stages, and the tracker shows where yours sits
SNGPL's procedure for a domestic RLNG connection has six steps: application, house line survey, demand notice and proposal letter, house line installation by the applicant, deposit of charges, and service line and meter installation. The tracker's wording follows that sequence, so the stage you see tells you what should happen next.
| Stage in SNGPL's procedure | Who acts | What you can do if it stalls |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Application received | SNGPL scrutiny | Check the acknowledgement; incomplete details can get it rejected at any time |
| 2. House line survey | SNGPL representative, in merit order | Confirm the nearest consumer number and address are right; survey visits follow turn |
| 3. Demand notice and proposal letter | SNGPL issues, with house line plan and contractor list | Collect it; it sets the security and service line charges |
| 4. House line installation | You, through an enlisted contractor | Get the installation certificate and sign the contract |
| 5. Deposit of charges | You, at a designated bank or online | Keep the paid challan; the date normally fixes your turn |
| 6. Service line and meter | SNGPL | Ask the regional office for the installation schedule |
The merit rule matters at stages 2 and 6. SNGPL's procedure says surveys are made "on turn/merit basis" and connections are installed "on first come first served basis after fulfilment of the above pre-requisites", with the payment date generally setting the turn. Fast track applicants who paid the Rs 25,000 urgent fee move in a separate queue. The fees are listed in the guide to a new gas connection in Pakistan.
Most delays sit at the survey or the house line, not at SNGPL's meter crew
Two stages depend on you. The survey cannot happen if the address or the nearest consumer number is wrong, and the house line cannot pass if it was not done by an enlisted contractor to the approved plan. Fix those and the tracker usually moves within the next cycle.

The house line is the step people underestimate. SNGPL requires a certificate in its own format from a contractor on its regional list, and the company checks the installation and tests it for leaks before supplying gas. The contractor rules are in the guide to the SNGPL house line installation certificate. A certificate from an unlisted plumber sends you back to stage 4.
SNGPL's procedure also carries a warning worth repeating: payments are accepted only at company banks or online channels, nobody is authorised to collect cash, and paying an agent or tout to speed things up is "legally actionable" and can lead to removal of the connection and an FIR. If anyone offers to move your file for a fee, the tracker is your protection, because it shows the real stage.
The ConnectOn app and the 1199 helpline are the other two routes
SNGPL's home page names its ConnectOn mobile app, on Google Play, as a route to apply and to track an application, alongside the website and its customer service centres. The helpline is 1199. For a status question, the regional office that covers your zone code is usually faster than the helpline, because the file sits there.
| Route | Where | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Website tracker | Track Your Application, under Customer Services | A quick status check with your reference number |
| ConnectOn app | Google Play | Applying and tracking from a phone |
| Helpline 1199 | Phone | Lodging a complaint about a stalled file |
| Regional office or customer service centre | In person | Survey disputes, demand notice collection, contractor lists |
When a complaint is the right move, log it so that it has a number. SNGPL's online complaint form and the 1199 line are covered in the guide to SNGPL and SSGC complaints, which also explains when OGRA takes over. A complaint about a stalled connection should quote the reference number and the stage the tracker shows.
Commercial, conversion and name change applications use the same page
The application type dropdown covers more than new domestic connections. Commercial applicants, pending system gas applicants who converted to RLNG, people restoring a disconnected supply and people changing the name on a connection can all enter their reference number here.

A shop or restaurant application follows its own document list, set out in the guide to a commercial gas connection from SNGPL. A name change is free and has its own form, covered in the steps to transfer a gas connection to your name. Each gets a reference number that works in the same tracker.
Common questions about tracking an SNGPL application
How do I check my SNGPL application status?
Open Track Your Application on sngpl.com.pk, choose the application type, enter your reference number or account ID, type the captcha and submit. The ConnectOn app does the same.
What if I lost my reference number?
The page's Urdu label says the field also accepts a CNIC number. Otherwise the acknowledgement is on the online application link where you applied, or at the regional office.
Why has my application not moved for months?
Surveys and connections follow merit and payment order. Check which stage you are at; if it is the survey or the house line, an address error or an unlisted contractor is the usual cause.
Can I pay someone to move my file faster?
No. SNGPL says no one is authorised to collect cash, and paying agents or touts is legally actionable and can cost you the connection. The Rs 25,000 fast track fee is the only legitimate urgent route.
Does the tracker work for commercial connections?
Yes. The application type dropdown includes commercial and other categories, and the same reference number format applies.
Who do I call if the tracker shows nothing?
Call 1199 with your CNIC and the date you applied, or visit the regional office for your zone. Log a complaint so you have a number to quote.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 19 October 2026. The tracker's fields and wording come from SNGPL's Application Status/Tracking page, the six stages, merit rule and tout warning from its Procedure for Domestic RLNG Connection, and the ConnectOn app, the Rs 25,000 fast track fee and the 1199 number from SNGPL's home page, all read on 19 October 2026. We did not submit a test application, so we have not seen the exact status labels the tracker returns; the stage names in the table are SNGPL's procedure steps. SNGPL's New Connections Merit page was marked under construction when we opened it.
