UHS MBBS Quota Seats 2026-27 for Islamabad, AJK, GB, Balochistan and Ex-FATA: Apply by 9 November
UHS has opened 214 MBBS and 38 BDS quota seats in Punjab for Islamabad, AJK, GB, Balochistan and ex-FATA students. MBBS forms close 9 November at 5 pm.

UHS Lahore opened applications on Monday 26 October 2026 for 214 MBBS and 38 BDS quota seats in Punjab's public medical and dental colleges, reserved for students from Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and the former FATA. MBBS forms close on Monday 9 November at 5:00 pm; BDS forms open on 14 December.
These seats are separate from Punjab's open merit admissions, and they are easy to miss. We read the University of Health Sciences (UHS) advertisement for the 2026-27 session on the UHS website on 27 October 2026. Here is how many seats each region gets, who qualifies, what it costs to apply, and every date to the start of classes.
UHS offers 214 MBBS and 38 BDS quota seats for seven categories
The quota covers candidates from other provinces and regions who want a seat in a Punjab public sector medical or dental college. Gilgit-Baltistan has the most MBBS seats, 55. Balochistan and the former FATA each also get 28 MBBS seats under HEC scholarship categories.
| Seat category | MBBS seats | BDS seats |
|---|---|---|
| Islamabad Capital Territory | 26 | 4 |
| Azad Jammu and Kashmir | 36 | 3 |
| Gilgit-Baltistan | 55 | 5 |
| Balochistan (goodwill seats) | 20 | none |
| Former FATA | 21 | 6 |
| Balochistan (HEC scholarship) | 28 | 10 |
| Former FATA (HEC scholarship) | 28 | 10 |
| Total | 214 | 38 |
The totals are our addition of the UHS table. Balochistan has no BDS goodwill seats this year, so a Balochistan BDS candidate's only route in this quota is the HEC scholarship category.

You need your own region's MDCAT, 60 per cent in FSc and a domicile
UHS asks for an MDCAT from 2026, 2025 or 2024 taken in your own province or region, with at least 55 per cent for MBBS or 50 per cent for BDS. You also need HSSC pre-medical with at least 60 per cent, and a domicile from that region.
- MDCAT: passed in your respective province or region, 55 per cent for MBBS, 50 per cent for BDS.
- Intermediate: HSSC pre-medical or an IBCC-recognised 12-year equivalent, with at least 60 per cent and Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
- Domicile: from the relevant province or region, compulsory.
- Azad Kashmir: a State Subject Certificate (first class only), a Permanent Resident Certificate, or a Refugee Card from the State authority.
- Balochistan: a Local Certificate from the district authority is accepted.
Merit uses the same weights as Punjab's own admissions: 10 per cent matric, 40 per cent FSc and 50 per cent MDCAT. If you have not worked out your own figure, the method is in how to calculate your MDCAT aggregate.
Apply on quotambbs.uhs.edu.pk and pay Rs 2,000 at BOP or NBP
MBBS quota forms go on quotambbs.uhs.edu.pk and BDS forms on quotabds.uhs.edu.pk. Each programme needs its own application. The processing fee is Rs 2,000, non-refundable, paid at Bank of Punjab or National Bank or through a 1Bill invoice.
- Read the 2026-27 prospectus and admission policy on uhs.edu.pk.
- Register on the portal with your name, email, CNIC, passport or CRC number, phone number and a password.
- Fill in your profile, then pick the seat category or categories you qualify for.
- Enter your SSC and HSSC marks and your MDCAT score.
- Upload scanned documents as PNG or JPG, each under 500 KB.
- Select every college available to your category, in order of preference.
- Generate the Rs 2,000 challan, pay it at BOP or NBP or by 1Bill invoice, and upload the paid receipt.
- Print and review the form, then submit before 9 November, 5:00 pm.
UHS warns that the 1Bill "top-up" option must not be used. Use the 1Bill invoice option only. You can edit your form until the deadline, but after it the number and order of your college choices are fixed.

Upload five documents, or the form can be rejected
UHS lists five mandatory uploads: matric and HSSC certificates verified by your board, the domicile, your CNIC, B-Form or passport, a parent's or guardian's CNIC, and a recent colour photograph. A form missing any of them can be declared invalid.
Hard copies are not accepted. That matters for families who are used to posting forms. If your certificates are not yet board-verified, start that today, because the window is only two weeks long. Students with foreign qualifications need IBCC equivalence too.
MBBS merit lists run from 13 November, classes start on 1 February 2027
UHS has set the full MBBS and BDS timetables in the advertisement. The provisional MBBS merit list is due on 13 November, the first college-wise list on 27 November, and classes begin on Monday 1 February 2027. BDS runs about seven weeks later.

A selected student must pay and join in writing, or lose the seat
Once your name is on a selection list, download the fee challan from the portal and pay it at BOP or NBP, or by 1Bill invoice, within the time given. Then join the college in writing by the due date. Miss either step and UHS cancels the admission.
Upgradation is compulsory: if a better college on your list has a vacancy later, you move, and UHS transfers your fee. UHS does not send call letters, so check uhs.edu.pk yourself after every date. For queries, UHS gives 042-99231308-09, 042-99231078 and 042-99231071, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Punjab-domiciled students apply through the separate process for MBBS admission in Punjab public colleges, which closes on 30 October. Students eyeing the federal colleges in Islamabad have their own route through SZABMU MBBS and BDS admission.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the UHS advertisement "Admissions to MBBS/BDS Programs on Quota Seats for Candidates of other Provinces/Regions in Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges of Punjab Session 2026-2027", published on the UHS website with an apply link to quotambbs.uhs.edu.pk, on 27 October 2026. It refers to the admission policy notified by Punjab's Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department on 14 October 2026. Seat totals are our addition. We could not confirm the list of colleges open to each quota category, which is in the prospectus and on the portal, or the college fee for quota seats.
