UHS MBBS admission 2026-27 for Punjab public colleges is open at publicmbbs.uhs.edu.pk until 30 October, 5 pm. Fee Rs 2,000, merit 10/40/50. See the steps.

Applications for MBBS in Punjab's public sector medical colleges for session 2026-27 are open at publicmbbs.uhs.edu.pk from 9:00 am on Friday 16 October 2026 and close at 5:00 pm on Friday 30 October 2026. The University of Health Sciences Lahore is the admitting university. The application fee is Rs 2,000, non-refundable, and classes start on 1 February 2027. We read the UHS advertisement and the admission policy on the UHS website on 19 October 2026.
You apply once, list every college you want in order of preference, and that order cannot be changed after 30 October. Nineteen public medical colleges are on the list, two of them subject to PMDC approval. BDS has a separate portal that opens on 15 December, so this page covers MBBS only.
You need 55% in MDCAT, 60% in FSc and a Punjab domicile
UHS asks for a pass in MDCAT 2026, 2025 or 2024 with at least 55% for MBBS, at least 60% in HSSC pre-medical or an IBCC recognised equivalent with Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics, and a domicile certificate from any Punjab district. Overseas Pakistanis and dual nationals applying on their own quota are exempt from the domicile rule.
Overseas Pakistani and dual national applicants may use MDCAT or, instead, SAT-II with at least 550 in each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics, or international MCAT or UCAT with 50%. Candidates with A Levels or a foreign HSSC need the IBCC equivalence certificate before they apply, and the process is in our IBCC equivalence certificate guide.
Merit is 10% matric, 40% FSc and 50% MDCAT. No marks are added for Hafiz-e-Quran under the 2026-27 policy. How the aggregate is calculated, with worked examples, is in how to work out your MDCAT aggregate.

The MBBS schedule runs from 16 October to classes on 1 February 2027
The provisional order of merit comes on 13 November, the final order on 16 November, and the first college-wise selection list on 17 November 2026. Second and third selection and upgradation lists follow on 23 November and 1 December. Classes start on Monday 1 February 2027.
| Step | MBBS date |
|---|---|
| Online application opens | Friday 16 October 2026, 9:00 am |
| Online application closes | Friday 30 October 2026, 5:00 pm |
| Medical board for students with disabilities, UHS City Campus | 3 to 5 November 2026 |
| Provisional order of merit | Friday 13 November 2026 |
| Final order of merit | Monday 16 November 2026 |
| First college-wise selection list | Tuesday 17 November 2026 |
| Second selection and upgradation list | Monday 23 November 2026 |
| Third selection and upgradation list | Tuesday 1 December 2026 |
| Classes start | Monday 1 February 2027 |
UHS says the schedule can change on directions from PMDC or the Punjab government, including the number of selection lists. Upgradation is automatic and mandatory: if a seat opens at a college higher on your list, you are moved there and must report to the new college in time or lose the admission.
Nineteen public medical colleges are on the list, two awaiting approval
The list runs from Allama Iqbal, Ameer-ud-Din, Fatima Jinnah, King Edward and Services Institute in Lahore to Nishtar in Multan, Rawalpindi, Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, Quaid-e-Azam Bahawalpur and Sheikh Zayed in Rahim Yar Khan. Maryam Nawaz Sharif Medical College Mianwali is subject to PMDC approval, and the Medical College at the University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin, needs PMDC and Punjab Higher Education Department approval.
The other colleges are DG Khan, Gujranwala, Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Sialkot, Narowal, Nawaz Sharif Gujrat, Sahiwal and Sargodha. Select every college you would accept, because the policy for public seats is to list all of them. Leaving one out means you cannot be placed there even if your merit reaches it. Tuition at public colleges is Rs 50,000 a year under the policy, and the full seat and fee position is in the Punjab MBBS and BDS admission policy 2026-27.

Apply on the portal, pay Rs 2,000 and upload files under 500 KB
Register on publicmbbs.uhs.edu.pk with your name, email, CNIC or passport number and mobile number. Fill in the profile, pick your seat categories, enter matric, FSc and MDCAT details, upload documents in PNG or JPG under 500 KB each, order your colleges, and pay the fee at Bank of Punjab or National Bank by branch or 1Bill invoice.
- Read the prospectus and the admission policy on uhs.edu.pk before you start.
- Register on the MBBS portal and log in. BDS has its own portal and its own fee.
- Complete the profile: name, domicile district, contact details, nationality, gender and date of birth.
- Select every seat category you qualify for: open merit, under-developed districts, Cholistan, students with disabilities, reciprocal or overseas Pakistani.
- Enter your SSC and HSSC marks, year of passing and subjects, then your MDCAT score.
- Upload each document as a clear PNG or JPG under 500 KB.
- Put the colleges in order of preference from the dropdown and tick the undertaking.
- Generate the Rs 2,000 challan, pay it at BOP or NBP by branch or 1Bill invoice, and upload the receipt. UHS says the 1Bill top-up option must not be used.
- Download, check and submit. You can edit until 30 October, but the college order is locked after that.
Hard copies are not accepted. An incomplete form is rejected without a second chance, and UHS does not send call letters: every merit and selection list goes on uhs.edu.pk and you are expected to check it yourself.
Keep these documents scanned before you open the form
You need the matric and HSSC certificates or result cards attested by the board, a Punjab domicile certificate unless you apply on the overseas quota, your CNIC, B-Form or passport, a parent's CNIC, and a recent colour photograph. Quota applicants need more: a valid iqama, green card or Maple card for overseas seats, proof of schooling from class 1 to 12 in the same district for under-developed district seats, and a government disability certificate for disability seats.
Students with disabilities also attend a medical board at UHS City Campus from 3 to 5 November. Foreign qualifications need the IBCC equivalence attested. If any certificate is still with the board, get the attested result card instead, because the upload is mandatory and a missing file makes the application liable to rejection.

After selection, pay the college fee within the window or lose the seat
Once your name is on a selection list, download the fee challan from the portal and pay at BOP or NBP within the stated period. Admission is confirmed only when the fee is paid and you join the college in writing by the due date. Miss either and the seat is cancelled and offered down the merit list.
Overseas Pakistani quota students pay US$10,000 a year under PMDC's notification of 21 March 2025 and sign an undertaking to complete the course in that category. Seats for students from other provinces and regions, including Islamabad, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan, are advertised separately by UHS. For questions, UHS lists 042-99231308-09, 042-99231078 and 042-99231071 on weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Before you set your preferences, confirm each college on the PMDC register using how to check a medical college is PMDC recognised.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 19 October 2026. We read the UHS advertisement "MBBS and BDS Admissions, Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges of Punjab, Session 2026-2027" linked from the public notices on uhs.edu.pk, which gives the college lists, eligibility, merit formula, portal addresses, application procedure, documents, schedule and phone numbers. We also re-read the Punjab government's admission policy notification of 14 October 2026 on the UHS site for the Rs 50,000 tuition and the quota structure. We did not open the portal with a real application, and we could not verify the number of seats per college, which UHS publishes in the prospectus.
