Umrah 1448 Season Dates for Pakistani Pilgrims: Last Visa 9 March 2027, Leave by 7 April
Saudi Arabia issues the last Umrah visa of the 1448 season on 9 March 2027, closes entry on 23 March and sets 7 April as the last exit. Plan Ramadan Umrah now.

Saudi Arabia will issue the last Umrah visa of the 1448 season on 9 March 2027, pilgrims must enter the Kingdom by 23 March 2027, and every Umrah visitor must leave by 7 April 2027. Those three dates come from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's own calendar, and they decide when a Pakistani family can still book Umrah before the Hajj season closes the door.
We read the ministry's announcement of the 1448 Umrah calendar on 19 October 2026. It was published on 17 May 2026 and it lists every milestone in both Hijri and Gregorian dates. Nothing in it has been changed since, as far as the ministry's site shows. The season has been open since 31 May 2026, so the dates that matter now are the closing ones.
The Umrah 1448 season closes in three steps between 9 March and 7 April 2027
Visa issuance stops first, on 1 Shawwal 1448, which the ministry gives as 9 March 2027. Entry into Saudi Arabia stops two weeks later, on 15 Shawwal, 23 March 2027. The final departure date for Umrah visitors is 30 Shawwal, 7 April 2027. The gap between each step is deliberate.
| Milestone | Hijri date | Gregorian date |
|---|---|---|
| Umrah visas and entry open | 14 Dhul Hijjah 1447 | 31 May 2026 |
| Entry to Makkah and Nusuk permits open | 15 Dhul Hijjah 1447 | 1 June 2026 |
| Last day an Umrah visa is issued | 1 Shawwal 1448 | 9 March 2027 |
| Last day to enter Saudi Arabia | 15 Shawwal 1448 | 23 March 2027 |
| Last day to leave Saudi Arabia | 30 Shawwal 1448 | 7 April 2027 |
The ministry pairs each Hijri date with a Gregorian one, but the Hijri date is the one that rules. If the moon sighting moves Shawwal by a day, the Gregorian date moves with it. Treat 9 March as "about Eid ul Fitr", not as a fixed Western date.

The visa deadline falls on Eid day, so Ramadan Umrah visas must be issued before Eid
1 Shawwal is Eid ul Fitr. The ministry has set that day as the last day a visa can be issued. So anyone who wants to spend the last ten nights of Ramadan 1448 in Makkah needs a visa issued well before then, and the agent must have the booking inside the Saudi system before the Ramadan rush.
Pakistanis do not get Umrah visas on their own. The visa is issued through an operator attested by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as the steps to get an Umrah visa from Pakistan set out. The operator contracts with a licensed Saudi Umrah company, and that company applies for the visa. Each link in that chain takes days, so a visa "issued by 9 March" means a complete file with the agent in February at the latest.
Our view: book Ramadan Umrah by December 2026. Agents fill their Ramadan allocations early every year, and the last two weeks of Shaban are the worst time to start.
Entry after 23 March is refused even on a valid visa
A visa issued on 8 March 2027 does not let you fly on 25 March. The ministry's calendar closes entry on 15 Shawwal, 23 March 2027, for all Umrah visitors. Airlines and Saudi immigration apply the season dates, so a late flight means a wasted ticket and a wasted visa.
The two week window between the last visa and the last entry is for people who already hold a visa, not a reason to leave the booking late. Flights from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad to Jeddah and Madinah fill up around Eid, and the fares climb with them.

Everyone on an Umrah visa must be out by 7 April 2027
The final departure date is 30 Shawwal 1448, 7 April 2027. From that day the Kingdom moves to Hajj preparation, and Umrah visitors who remain are overstaying. The ministry's calendar does not give a grace period, and an overstay is recorded against the passport.
For a Pakistani family that usually means a return flight no later than the first week of April. Private Hajj 2027 pilgrims travel separately, on Hajj visas, under the rules in the private Hajj 2027 payment rules, so this Umrah departure date does not apply to them.
Agents and Saudi companies now work through the Electronic Path
The same announcement sets out how the ministry runs the season behind the scenes. Qualification of external agents, including Pakistani operators, and their contracts with Saudi Umrah companies go through the ministry's Electronic Path, which opened on 24 Dhul Qadah 1447, 11 May 2026. Contracts between Umrah companies and hotels, transport firms and caterers, and the design of packages, opened on the Path a day later.
Why it matters to you: a Pakistani agent who is not contracted on the Electronic Path cannot get a visa issued for you. Before paying, ask which Saudi Umrah company holds your booking and check the agent's own standing in the steps for an attested Umrah agent contract.
What to do now if you plan Umrah before the 1448 season ends
Work backwards from the three dates. The checklist below assumes a Pakistani passport, an attested agent and a normal visa turnaround. Add a week for every document that still needs a fix.
- Pick travel dates that end before 7 April 2027, and land before 23 March 2027.
- Book with an attested operator, and ask which Saudi Umrah company will issue the visa.
- Get the meningitis and polio record onto the NADRA vaccination card before the file goes in.
- Budget for the mandatory food voucher that is added to the visa bill.
- Have the visa in hand before 9 March 2027. For Ramadan, aim for January.
- Keep the Nusuk app ready for the Umrah and Rawdah permits once you arrive.

The ministry's calendar does not say how long an individual visa stays valid. Your visa may expire before the season does, and the earlier of the two dates applies. Read the dates printed on the visa itself.
Common questions
What is the last date for an Umrah visa in 2027?
9 March 2027, which is 1 Shawwal 1448, according to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's calendar for the 1448 season. The Hijri date is the one that rules.
Can I enter Saudi Arabia for Umrah after 23 March 2027?
No. The calendar closes entry for Umrah visitors on 15 Shawwal 1448, which the ministry gives as 23 March 2027, even if your visa is still valid.
When must Umrah pilgrims leave Saudi Arabia in 2027?
By 30 Shawwal 1448, which is 7 April 2027. Staying past that date counts as an overstay.
Does this calendar apply to Hajj 2027 pilgrims?
No. Hajj pilgrims travel on Hajj visas under separate rules. These dates apply only to Umrah visitors.
Can a Pakistani apply for the Umrah visa directly on Nusuk?
Pakistani passports go through an operator attested by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which books with a licensed Saudi Umrah company. The company applies for the visa.
When did the 1448 Umrah season start?
Visas and entry opened on 31 May 2026, and Makkah entry with Nusuk permits opened on 1 June 2026.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 19 October 2026. All dates come from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's announcement of the Umrah season calendar for 1448 AH, published 17 May 2026 on haj.gov.sa, which we read in full on 19 October 2026. The ministry's news page for October 2026 showed no change to the calendar. We could not verify the validity period of an individual Umrah visa, which the ministry does not state, or any Pakistan-side cut-off set by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which had published none when we checked.
