Virtual University of Pakistan now lists Monday 12 October 2026 as the first day of Fall 2026 classes, a week later than the 5 October we recorded earlier. Its admission schedule also gives Saturday 10 October as the last date to apply, and Wednesday 21 October as the last day to add, drop or replace a course. A new student orientation week runs from 12 to 16 October. If you joined VU this fall, three dates matter: 12 October, 16 October and 21 October.

We read VU's admission schedule and its orientation notice on vu.edu.pk on 11 October 2026. When we first read the schedule on 29 September 2026, it showed 30 September for the last date to apply and 5 October for classes. VU's page now shows later dates in every row, and it says the university may change any date.

VU's Fall 2026 dates have moved by one week or more

Compared with the schedule we recorded on 29 September, VU's page now gives later dates for admission, course exemption, classes and add or drop. The shift is 10 days for admission, 7 days for classes and 6 days for add or drop.

VU also lists a last date to deposit the Rs 500 admission processing fee. It is the same day as the last date to apply, Saturday 10 October. That date has now passed. VU's own note says it "reserves the right to make any change(s)", so a further extension is possible, but we found none on its page.

VU Fall 2026 key dates: classes 12 October, scholarship 16 October, add and drop 21 October

Orientation week for new students runs from 12 to 16 October

VU invites all newly admitted Fall 2026 students to Orientation Week from 12 to 16 October 2026. The opening session is online on Monday 12 October from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Campus sessions run daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The central session is led by the Rector and senior staff, and it is on Zoom with a live YouTube broadcast on VU's channel for anyone whose connection fails. VU's notice carries the Zoom link and passcode. We have not copied them here, so take them from the notice on vu.edu.pk.

If you prefer to meet staff in person, visit your nearest VU campus on any day from 12 to 16 October. VU says there are multiple time slots. The notice points to its campus locator page for addresses.

Course selection stays open until 21 October

VU's schedule lists Wednesday 21 October 2026 as the last date to add, drop or replace courses. The course selection link for Fall enrolment opened on 18 September. A student who has not chosen courses yet still has until 21 October.

  1. Log in to your VU learning account with the ID given at admission.
  2. Open course selection and check the courses listed for your programme.
  3. Add, drop or replace a course before 21 October.
  4. Save a screenshot of your final selection.

These steps are the general sequence, not a screen by screen walk through, because we have no VU student login. Follow VU's own prompts if they differ. The one fixed fact is the 21 October cut-off.

Two deadlines still open for new students

The need-based scholarship deadline is Friday 16 October 2026. Students admitted on a Part I intermediate result must upload their Part II marks sheet through the learning system, or VU treats them as ineligible for the need-based scholarship.

Our guide to the VU need-based scholarship has the application steps and rules. Our guide to VU fall 2026 admission has the fee table and programme list, though its dates are now older than VU's page.

Students who joined VU late may also want the date for changing their study programme. VU's schedule gives Monday 12 October for both new and existing students.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 11 October 2026. We read the Fall 2026 admission schedule on vu.edu.pk and VU's notice "Join Our Fall 2026 Orientation Week (12 to 16 October 2026)". We do not know when VU changed the schedule, because the page carries no change date. We did not log in to VU's learning system.
