To call the UAE from a Zong SIM, dial *7966#: Rs 200 plus tax buys 30 minutes to the du network for a month, and prepaid users can take 100 minutes for Rs 500 plus tax. Both bundles work only on du numbers, so check the network of the person you call before you pay.

The UAE is the first stop for many Pakistani workers, and calls home and back run into hundreds of rupees a month. We read Zong's UAE offers page on 21 October 2026. All prices below are plus tax.

Zong has two UAE calling bundles and both cover the du network only

The smaller bundle gives 30 minutes for Rs 200 on prepaid and postpaid. The larger one gives 100 minutes for Rs 500 and is for prepaid only. Both are monthly and both are valid only on the du network in the UAE.

BundleSIM typePrice (+ tax)MinutesCost per minute
DU UAE 30 mins monthlyPrepaid and postpaidRs 20030Rs 6.67
IDD UAE DU bundlePrepaid onlyRs 500100Rs 5.00

The cost per minute is our arithmetic. The bigger bundle is about 25 per cent cheaper per minute, but only if you will use 100 minutes. Zong calls the larger offer a prepaid one, so a postpaid customer has only the Rs 200 choice.

Check whether your contact is on du before you subscribe

Zong says the offer is valid only for international dialling to the UAE, du network only. The UAE has two main mobile companies, and the other one is not part of this bundle. If your contact is on the other network, the minutes will not be used.

The simplest fix is to ask the person which SIM company they use. We found no list of du number prefixes on the page, so do not guess. A quick question costs less than a wasted bundle.

The offers do not renew by themselves and do not work while you roam

Zong lists three terms that matter. The bundles are monthly. They are not auto-recursive, so they stop at the end of the month and you must subscribe again. And they are not valid for customers on international roaming.

That last point catches people who travel. If you are in the UAE yourself, you need a roaming offer instead. For comparison, we cover a rival network in the guide to UAE data roaming on Jazz, and Zong's own UAE prices are in the Zong roaming bundles for the UAE, Qatar and Oman.

How to subscribe and what to keep

Zong lists *7966# as the code to subscribe. The page gives no unsubscribe code, and because the bundles do not renew, you may not need one. If a charge appears again, ask Zong on 310 to confirm that nothing is active.

  1. Confirm the other person is on du.
  2. Choose Rs 200 for 30 minutes or Rs 500 for 100 minutes (prepaid only).
  3. Dial *7966# from your Zong number.
  4. Pick the bundle in the menu and read the price in the reply.
  5. Keep the confirmation SMS.
  6. Dial the UAE with +971 before the number.

Jazz customers have a similar but different route, explained in the Jazz offer for calls to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the UK. To see how many minutes are left on a Zong SIM, the Zong remaining minutes check works for bundles.

Work out which bundle fits your family before you pay

Count the minutes you talk to the UAE in a normal month. If it is under 30, the Rs 200 bundle is enough. If it is more than 60 and you are on prepaid, the Rs 500 bundle costs less per minute. A family that calls twice a week for 10 minutes uses about 80 minutes a month, so the larger bundle fits. Because the bundles do not renew, set a phone reminder a day before the month ends. Keep the confirmation SMS, and check your balance once after you subscribe to see the full amount taken with tax. Ask Zong on 310 if the figure looks wrong. How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 21 October 2026. Prices, minutes, the *7966# code and the terms come from Zong's UAE offers page at zong.com.pk, which we read on 21 October 2026. Cost per minute is our own arithmetic. We did not subscribe or place a call, and we could not verify the tax-inclusive amount or any unsubscribe code. Zong can change or withdraw offers, so confirm the price on your phone before you pay.
