AirPods 5 in Pakistan: Price, Features and How to Spot Fakes

AirPods 5 cost $129 in the US, and $149 with the Wireless Charging Case, according to Apple's own store on 28 September 2026. At the State Bank of Pakistan's rate that is about Rs 35,800 and Rs 41,300, before duty or shop margin. Both went on sale on 18 September.

Both AirPods 5 models have Active Noise Cancellation, and Apple calls them its most affordable AirPods with it. That makes them the AirPods most Pakistanis will look for this year, and also the ones most likely to be copied. We read Apple's own model numbers and serial check, so you can tell a genuine pair in a few minutes.

AirPods 5 bring noise cancellation to Apple's cheapest AirPods

Apple announced AirPods 5 on 9 September 2026. Both models have open-ear Active Noise Cancellation, which Apple says removes up to 50 per cent more noise than AirPods 4 with ANC. They also get a new acoustic design and better dust, sweat and water resistance.

"Open-ear" means there is no silicone tip that seals your ear canal. The AirPods sit in the ear like older AirPods, and the noise cancelling works without the seal. Apple says it tested the noise reduction against the bestselling open-ear headphones.

Other features in both models:

• A new multiport acoustic design and next-generation Adaptive EQ for fuller sound.
• An improved Transparency mode, which lets outside voices in more naturally.
• Hands-free Siri AI, with nod or shake of the head to answer yes or no.
• Live Translation, started by pressing both stems at once.

Siri AI launched in English only, and Live Translation works only in the languages Apple supports. Urdu is not on Apple Intelligence's language list, so these two features are limited for many Pakistani users.

The $149 model adds wireless charging, volume swipe and longer battery

AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case cost $20 more. For that you get a case that charges on Qi pads and Apple Watch chargers, a volume swipe on the stem, and up to five hours of listening with noise cancelling on one charge, up to 22 hours with the case.

Apple says the five hours is one hour more than AirPods 4 with ANC. The wireless case also has a small speaker that plays a sound when charging starts or the battery runs low. Both cases charge by USB-C.

The rupee figures use SBP's rate of Rs 277.16 to the dollar for 25 September 2026. They are conversions only. Shops add customs charges, transport and margin, so the shelf price in Pakistan will be higher.

Apple does not sell AirPods directly in Pakistan

Apple has no store in Pakistan, and its locator showed just one authorised seller near Lahore when we checked, listed for iPhone, Mac and iPad. Most AirPods here are imported by shops or brought from the Gulf. That is why checking each pair yourself matters.

Apple lists authorised service providers in Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and all four we found are listed for AirPods. But Apple's warranty terms say it may restrict warranty service to the country where the product was first sold. A pair bought in Dubai may need to go back there for a free repair.

Older models are still on sale, often at lower prices. The AirPods sold in Pakistan include AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro, and the earbuds in Pakistan from other brands cost far less.

Check the serial number on Apple's own coverage page

Every genuine pair of AirPods has a serial number printed under the lid of the case. Enter it on checkcoverage.apple.com. Apple's page should name the exact model, AirPods 5 or AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case, and show its coverage.

Here is the check, step by step, before you pay:

1. Open the case and read the serial number on the underside of the lid.
2. Go to checkcoverage.apple.com, enter the serial and the code shown on the screen.
3. Check that Apple names the same model the seller is selling you.
4. Pair them with an iPhone and check the model number in the AirPods settings.
5. Match that model number against Apple's list in the table above.

If Apple's page says the serial is not valid, or names a different product, do not buy. A serial that shows a purchase date months ago means the pair is not new, whatever the box says.

Signs that a pair of AirPods 5 is fake or not as described

The clearest warning is a failed serial check. Other red flags are a model number that is not on Apple's list, a basic case sold as the wireless one, and a price far below the US price converted to rupees.

Apple's support page lists the model number for each AirPods generation. The AirPods settings screen on an iPhone shows the model number, and it is also printed on the underside of each earbud, starting with the letter A. If the number is not A3531, A3532, A3533, A3439, A3440 or A3441, these are not AirPods 5.

The two cases are not interchangeable. Apple says the basic Charging Case for AirPods 5 works only with AirPods 5 earbuds, and the Wireless Charging Case works only with the wireless model's earbuds. A seller who swaps cases is selling you a mismatch.

Price is a warning, not proof. Genuine AirPods 5 cost about Rs 35,800 in the US before any duty. A new pair offered for a small fraction of that deserves a serial check before any money changes hands.
