How to Get Bait-ul-Mal Orphan Support in Pakistan: Sweet Home and Rs 8,000 a Month
Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal runs Sweet Home for orphans aged 4 to 6 and a Rs 8,000 a month support scheme. See who qualifies, the form details and where to apply.

A guardian can ask Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal for orphan support in two ways. Pakistan Sweet Home takes orphans aged 4 to 6 into a free home with school. The Orphan and Widow Support Programme lists Rs 8,000 a month per orphan child.
Many families only learn the programme names after a bereavement, when every office sends them somewhere else. The two schemes are different, and the form you need depends on which one fits your child.
We read the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal website at pbm.gov.pk on 7 October 2026, including its projects page, its forms page and the Sweet Home form and criteria card. This is what they say, and what they leave out.
Bait-ul-Mal runs two orphan schemes with different rules
Pakistan Sweet Home is residential care for young orphans. The Orphan and Widow Support Programme (OWSP) is a monthly cash scheme for families. Sweet Home takes the child into a home, OWSP keeps the child with the family.
| Pakistan Sweet Home | OWSP | |
|---|---|---|
| What it gives | Free home, food, school, clothes, medical care | Cash, with education and health support |
| Amount listed | No cash, costs covered | Rs 8,000 a month per orphan child |
| Child's age | 4 to 6 years at enrolment | Not stated on the page |
| Where the child lives | In the Sweet Home | With the family |
The site describes OWSP as a conditional cash transfer. Money comes with conditions, usually school attendance and health visits. It started as a pilot in 2020.
Sweet Home enrols orphans aged 4 to 6
The Sweet Home criteria card lists three conditions: an orphan without a father, the poorest of the poor, and an age between 4 and 6 years. Under the Bait-ul-Mal Act as amended, each unit shelters 100 orphans.
The projects page says the child stays enrolled until education or skill training is finished and the child reaches adulthood. A child is not sent away at age 6.
Facilities listed are free furnished accommodation, three meals a day, education in city schools, uniform, books and stationery, seasonal clothes, medical care through government hospitals, skill programmes, religious education and counselling.
The page says orphans are preferably recommended by parliamentarians, government officials, social workers, civil society or Bait-ul-Mal staff. It does not say a recommendation is compulsory. Ask the district officer whether you need one.
The Sweet Home form asks for the father's death details and two witnesses
The form is in Urdu. We opened the copy on the forms page. It asks for these details, so collect them before you go.
- The child's name, date of birth and a photograph.
- The father's name, CNIC number, religion and date of death.
- The mother's name and CNIC, and whether she is alive.
- The guardian's name, CNIC, relationship to the child, permanent and temporary address and phone number.
- Details of up to three people allowed to visit the child.
- Names and ages of brothers and sisters, the child's health and any special needs.
- Two witnesses with their CNIC numbers and phone numbers.
The form leaves boxes for Bait-ul-Mal officers to verify it. It does not list supporting papers, so we cannot tell you whether a death certificate is demanded. Carry the father's death certificate and the child's NADRA B-Form anyway. The B-Form proves the child's age and the parents' names.
The District Officer receives the application
The guardian submits the filled form with the required papers to the Bait-ul-Mal District Officer. After checking, the officer sends it to the provincial or regional office. The Sweet Home in-charge then keeps a record of the child's background.
The forms page offers the Sweet Home form as PDF and JPG, free. The site also has a case tracking page at mis.pbm.gov.pk/track, which is where to follow an application once it has a number.
Nobody should charge you for the form or for a place. The forms are published free, and the criteria are public.
Some OWSP details are not on the site
The projects page lists these OWSP benefits: Rs 8,000 a month per orphan child, a special focus on female orphans, support for higher education, vocational training and healthcare. Payments go through a biometric verification system, and offices check compliance by geo-tagging.
The page links an OWSP policy PDF. We could not read that file, so we cannot say who qualifies, which districts take applications or how a mother or guardian enrols. We also found no separate OWSP form on the forms page. Ask your district Bait-ul-Mal office whether enrolment is open, and ask for the policy in writing.
Other routes if Sweet Home does not fit
If the child is older than 6, or you want the child to stay at home, the education stipend is another route. It is set out in Bait-ul-Mal education stipends and orphan support. For illness, see medical help from Bait-ul-Mal.
If the child needs a legal guardian first, for example after both parents have died, read about child guardianship in Pakistan. A widowed mother in Punjab may also qualify for the Punjab Benevolent Fund widow grant if her husband was a government servant.
Common questions
Can a child over 6 join Pakistan Sweet Home?
No. The criteria card says age between 4 and 6 years at enrolment. An older orphan can look at OWSP or the education stipend instead.
Does Sweet Home take a child whose mother has died but father is alive?
The criteria card says orphan without father. A child with a living father does not fit it.
How much does OWSP pay?
The projects page lists Rs 8,000 a month per orphan child. We could not confirm who qualifies or when payments are made.
Is there a fee to apply?
No fee is listed. The forms are free to download, so do not pay an agent.
Who do I give the form to?
The Bait-ul-Mal District Officer, according to the enrolment procedure. The officer forwards it to the provincial or regional office.
Can I track my application?
Yes. Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal runs a case tracking page at mis.pbm.gov.pk/track. Keep the receipt or case number.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 7 October 2026. We read the projects page, the forms page, the Sweet Home enrolment criteria card and the Sweet Home form on pbm.gov.pk. The age range, Rs 8,000 monthly figure, 100 orphans per unit, facilities and enrolment procedure come from those pages. We did not read the Sweet Home and OWSP policy PDFs, did not visit an office and did not test the tracking page. Confirm current rules with your district Bait-ul-Mal office.
